Cute little used book shop. The lady that was working, was very helpful and trying to find some of the books that I was looking for. I did snag a book off of the new book rack, and she said that there was a used one in excellent condition that would save me a few dollars. I really appreciate that! This is an eclectic bookshop, old fashioned in the best way. They search up and order any book you want, that is if they don't have it on the shelves or on its way already. They have great prices start by with at least 10% off new hardcovers usually, all the way down to 50¢ paperbacks in the back (or fill a bag for $5!) The owners are the nicest people ever, i love shopping here. i won't be shopping at big box bookstores again after finding too many great books here! read more

By the time I walked into this place, they already had 155 reviews on another site, so this place is a popular local used bookstore. A medium-sized store with a high ratio of paperbacks to hardcovers. Although I would mostly classify it as a paperback exchange, they have a few hardcovers and a wide variety of sections. They also handle some new books and special orders. Not your used bookstore if you're looking for antiquarian, collectible, or first editions. What they do have is clean and very well-priced. Yay for Toni B! Her review made me trek my behind over here and I discovered not only this great bookstore but uber cheap sushi across the street. I think I owe her a drink. They have a beautiful space here. Do not think used bookstore, this is set up more like a new one. Airy, spacious, well lit. It's kind of amazing. The selection is huge and varied. A lot of used bookstores are heavy on the historical or generic romance, this does not work for my husband one bit. Here you will find a decent selection of horror, sci-fi, mystery, mainstream, recents, the paranormal crap I like. I mean we found a little bit of everything. Having a man who reads like he does up at the desk made my husband feel so much better. He is used to talkiing about the likes of Bukowski, Palahniuk and Glen Cook to blank stares. Not the case at all here. Me I scored some Jennifer Ashley's shifter series, Nalini Singh's psy changelings, Kresley Cole, you name it. They had a lot more than I was expecting. Happiness. I need my brain candy people, it beats crap TV. I snagged some fairly current stuff too, including stuff still on the bestsellers list. Stuff people are happily paying full price for at B&N or off Amazon. They had a deal where it was buy four books, get the fifth free. They also pretty much had deals abound for everything. Mention you are new and you get a deal. Hardbacks were on special. New books are all at a discount too. They are super friendly and will go the extra mile for you, if they don't have it they will find it and have it soon enough. The trade in policy is a good deal and I felt we got a lot for the money. This place is a local gem! It's got a terrific selection of paperbacks of all kinds. I go in there and stock up on mysteries, children's books, craft how-tos and other kinds of books. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. It also gives me a place to drop off books I no longer need. Their books are in good condition and parking is convenient. Recommend! read more

Oh my gosh please give these ladies your business! They are amazing! The books are so cheap and most have been gently used l. I love the concept of if you bring in books it can go towards credit for when you buy books from their store. They currently moved onto middlebelt next to the dollar store. Okay downgrading my review, been in there a second time and asked about a (new) book that was scheduled to be returned and they promised to call me when the book was returned so I can purchase the (used) (used) book. They never did call. I purchased some more paperbacks the second time I was in but when I asked about the book they were call me in they just looked at me. Also their phone system and credit card reader went down and they looked at me like I was supposed to just stand there and stand there until they figured out what they should do. I will probably be back due to the just sheer number of books by a favorite author of mine but not due to their customer service. read more

I have been shopping at Books Connection for years. If you like to read fiction than this is the store for you. They have a great selection of used books. Many times you can find rare out of print books. The staff is friendly and are generally true book lovers. Many of the staff have been there for over 10 years. read more

Wow. It's been a long time since I've been treated so rudely. I asked a gentleman shelving books if he had any titles by two authors. He told the woman behind the front desk the names of the two authors and asked her to check their computerized inventory. A couple of minutes later, she informed him that there were no titles by the name of the first author. Wondering because she had not mentioned the second author, I politely asked her if she had also checked under the name of the second author Taking me aback, she suddenly barked out "Sir! I can only check one title at a time!" Needless to say I was stunned because of the rude way she shouted at me -- not to mention the fact that she was only checking one title at a time! I went ahead anyway to buy the books I had found -- although I should have walked straight out -- because they were somewhat hard to find. After paying for my books, another customer came in and asked her if she had a certain reference book. She said she didn't think so, waving vaguely towards the back of the store. As he walked away, I told him that if he couldn't find it there, there was a specialty store a couple of miles away that he could check. No sooner did I tell him this, then she suddenly shouted "Sir! Sir! We could have ordered that for him!" I wanted to tell her, if that was the case, then why didn't she tell him that? Why didn't she even check her system? More importantly, why didn't she offer to order my books? I mean, what the hell? read more

Disappointed with their business tactics. Received a store credit for my books, but was limited to how I could use the credit. I now have a credit, but they have very little that I can use it for. Also, even when using the credit, I still had to come forth with cash to buy anything. read more

This was my first visit to The Books Connection. It was recommended to me by a coworker and I am thrilled that I took the time to investigate. Let me start out by saying that when I lived in AZ we had the most glorious local chain of used bookstores that were large, clean, and had the greatest stock available. So I have been looking for something that would come even a little bit close to the quality of what I experienced there. I am happy to say that The Books Connection comes close. Do not let the somewhat bare surroundings outside the store put you off. It is located next to a Wendy's in a strip mall next to a Dollar store. Once you walk in, however, you will discover a plethora of selections to meet any book lover's needs. The store carries both used and new books and I received 10% and 20% off of the two new paperbacks that I bought. There is a well lighted display of bestsellers along the left side of the store and I thought I was in heaven when I discovered that they carried Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance novels of which I am a fan. They have equally large sections for Fiction, Mystery, Romance, and Science Fiction lovers. The two women working behind the counter immediately asked me and several other customers if we needed help when we came in. When I cashed out, the lady helping me gave me a coupon for being a new customer (mention it's your first time there) and a flyer explaining their Trade-In Policy which is also on their website - www.thebooksconnection.com. It looked equivalent to the other used bookstores that I have been frequenting, but this store has such an excellent selection of hard to find books that I will be making this my main stop. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best store in the area. read more

Just your basic cool used bookstore. Not many around, but this is close by. Great service, picture your typical book store attendants and that's who works here. Old fashioned friendliness free of charge with each purchase. They seem to know their inventory pretty well too. Needs to be bigger and a few chairs to browse. read more
