This had been open when I found it, it was needed in the area since it is large and fills a hole in the retail choices since the closes Barnes and Noble is at least a 20 minute drive. Located in the strip shopping area where Whole Foods and Kohl's are close neighbors. Lots of parking available. When you walk in, you are reminded of the late great Borders. Maybe it is the style of shelving or just the feel, but it is setup so similar. Books, magazines, kitchen items, clothes, jewelry, toys, smart ass stuff, and many other items like windchimes and a wall of puzzles you normally don't expect. Just enough help and sale books. While it does have a membership program yet, you can get on its mailing list. While I was disappointed of the lack of tarot cards, it has what most people want. I didn't have lots of time to stay and look, I look forward to a longer visit when I am up this way next month. A wonderful way to enjoy part of an afternoon and with a good size children section, parents will love showing that reading is a family value. read more

I drove here specifically to get a gift card for a friend. I looked online and saw that you can order them online and have them mailed or you can pick them up in the store. My issue was I wasn't sure if I could have someone else pick up - you can. I walked in and felt lit I was walking into a magical place. So many books, so little time... I quickly perused for about 5 min, selected 2 books for myself, a greeting card and the gift card I needed. I'll need to make time to come back here so I can check out the whole store. read more

New book store has opened! We happened to be in the area and discovered this. It's wonderful for avid readers to have a bookstore to visit again! There were book tables outside as one entered and complimentary welcoming coffee/ cappuccino and snacks at the front entrance as you entered. Also a table for guests to stop and enter a raffle.This is a large store with a nice selection of books, toys, and small gift items reminiscent of the previous Borders and Barnes and Noble Book stores is offered for customers to peruse. Sadly there is not a book clearance/discount area, a coffee/tea eatery, a media/music area, nor any place to sit and relax in the store. It's wonderful to have another bookstore to visit and see what is offered in the days ahead. Thank you Schuler Books for coming to W. Bloomfield. We will look forward to visiting more! read more

Amazing to have a real bookstore within 5 miles of my house . They also have authors come in and do signings, so be sure to follow them on social media. They have a legit,l children's book section with used books and stuffed animals. I did not get a chance to look at the adult books, but it is very organized and well-kept in general. read more

I am really glad they are doing something with this space. I do love a good bookstore. This place is fairly spacious and makes good use of the of the spot they selected. There are not only books but plenty of fun kitsch items like socks, fun kitchenware, magnets, silly toys, gift items, ukuleles, etc... I could see myself shopping here during the holidays for family and friends. Some thoughts from my family, it was too dark and there was no where to sit and relax. My thoughts, while I liked their selection I do love a good cafe to sip coffee and have a snack. We miss going to Border's which used to be across the way and would spend all of my weekends and all of my dollars on coffee and books with the kids when they were really small. If they added a cafe this place would be perfect. Perhaps it is the only bookstore in the area so it might work. But I would be more apt to go to Barnes for coffee and purchases since I get a discount from their rewards program. read more

Stopped in because we are a family of booklovers who never pass up a good bookstore. We were not disappointed! Schuler Books has a huge store nicely laid out with lots of selection. Two of us explored the Science Fiction and Fantasy shelf and came away with several new titles--and it is rare for both of us to find so many things we like and haven't read. Another of our party found a history book and curled up in a chair by the fireplace. (Yeah, it was on in August but so was the A/C) Friendly service at the register rounded out the visit. I walked up to this store and got the biggest smile on my face. I miss having bookstores around, and this place is a totally welcome addition!! With both used and new books available, the selection is awesome. They have a lot of games, toys, puzzles, and housewares too. Can't wait to go back and also to see if they will take some of my used books as well. read more

Great selection, prices are very reasonable. Like the way it's divided into new and used with easy to find sections and a good number of books on display to grab your attention but a deep enough selection to likely find more esoteric books. The used young adult section was particularly good. Staff were helpful and attentive. read more

Wide collection of contemporary and classics. Love the used section, fair prices for books almost as good as new. The store is well run and organized and a delightful space.
