This is a stop if you need something, probably something off-the-wall, are in a hurry and don't want to drive the 15 miles or so to the larger towns. It's an odd mix of things: books about the area, survival guides (not a bad thing to have in this part of the state), clothing, some cans of miscellaneous food, candy, toys, a few fishing lures, and the requisite touristy stuff. I almost have the feeling it's set up for those in the nearby cabins on a fishing vacation who don't want to take the time to drive somewhere. If you're hiking in the area and need something quick, Granny's will meet the need. But, like Tom B noted in his review, there's no gas station here, so if that's what you need, keep driving. All bookstores are good even when they're not all books…read more Luckily, this store is books along with some games, comfortable seating, faux fireplace, keurig machine, greeting cards, some miscellaneous gifts, and an amazing owner who is quick with a recommendation. The books here run the gamut in all genres, so there's likely going to be something that catches your interest. I like the name "Book Therapy" it conjures up different things, none of which have anything to do with therapy in the traditional sense, but more in the idea that books can be a therapeutic escape when you've hit overload on day to day stress. Having a coffee machine, a faux fireplace, and some games for the kids, also can work its magic and that must be where the "and more" comes in. I think the only thing missing might be a resident cat or dog, but sometimes books, coffee, and a comfortable chair are all you need. Book Therapy is worth a visit and is a surprising shop in this small town.
