I was so excited about this find. Was expecting to order boots and leather jacket, etc, from this store, but it's a men's store - period. If you can find the speck of a women's section, the selection is sparse. They seem to only order men's size socks, even in women's styles. Waited 4 months to get a call boots were in.Was told a week to week and a half.days originally. Called for 3 months. Mind you This was mid /early April-order was placed this is the end of July today. Each time was told they only place orders once a week. Each time I was polite to their rudeness. Received a call today. Come pick them up or they will be put on the shelf by a very rude man. Tried to explain he barked at me to come get them or they are going back on the shelf .. Called back to be polite to tell him he could shove them . Not sure how this place is still in business. The young girls working there are nice. The ordering staff is the rudest. . read more

Great selection of boots and shoes. However, about 90% of the stores boots are for men. There is a VERY small two isles for women. Very disappointing. read more

Used to be a great store, but not anymore. After the previous owner passed away, service has gone downhill. The staff seems to hate being there, and they want to make sure their customers know it. They routinely run bait and switch adds, the sales ladies sit behind the counter, ignore the customers, and treat people rudely. If you ask for help they make it clear you are interfering with whatever it is they were doing (usually talking with each other). When you do finally get service, they refuse to look at you, and generally make you feel unwelcome. There are other stores in the area, and they now get my business. read more

This store has tons of different boots, absolutely love the selection, but they could have more hikers, also, THEY LITERALLY DO NOT STOCK SIZE 8 IN ANY AND I MEAN ANY HIKING BOOT AND VERY FEW WORK BOOTS. This store would earn 5 out of 5 stars if they had even two or three pairs of hiking boots in a size 8, especially Keens. The overall shopping experience at the boot box was terrible to say the least. I waited in line for quite a while while a member of management was screaming back to the customer service desk about some random issue instead of walking back there themselves and discussing it in private. On my return trip to the boot box I wanted to exchange the pair of boots I purchased. As I was making the exchange the cashier asked if I had worn the boots. To which I replied no, and stated that I just wanted a different pair. That should not be too difficult of a request. It seems as though for some reason they did not believe me when I told her I did not wear the boots. The second cashier came up and they were talking amongst themselves about the boots I was returning, almost as if they thought I was trying to pull a fast one on them. They made a snide comment about having to "clean these up" before they put them back in stock. Meanwhile there were many other customers in line and I felt embarrassed because it was like they were accusing me of deception. I have been to the boot box many other times and have never had a good experience there. The only redeeming value is the selection of products. I would suggest to anybody shopping there, Get what you need and get out before you have to deal with too many employees. I would recommend to the Owner's that their employees need to go through some sort of customer relations training. Also, it might be a good idea to supply them with some sort of a uniform so you know who was working there as opposed to who is a customer. It's a very unprofessional image when employees are running around in tattered jeans and hoodies screaming across the store. I live in Erie and will gladly Travel a greater distance to a different boot store then to ever shop there again. read more

You cannot beat the selection of leather goods here in Western PA, including Pittsburgh! The staff were super helpful and attentive even though they were obviously checking inventory. But that is only part of my five star rating: I spent two hours hunting down the right shoes, found a great three season coat on sale and a two pair of Marino wool socks. Go up to the counter and pay in cash from my Dave Ramsey 'clothing' envelope. I get distracted by the plethora of knives near the counter and look for another fifteen minutes. Thank everyone for their assistance and drive thirty minutes home, by now it is after nine pm and the Boot Box is closed. Empty my pockets of receipts and change, phone and wallet- No Clothing Envelope! There was something like $180 bucks still in it and my wife just gave me that look like I'm the most irresponsible..! I call the next day and they still have it!! God Bless them for their integrity and honesty, that just doesn't happen anymore in America. I just got off the phone with the actual owner of The Boot Box. I have issues with a phone order I recently made. It was the MOST INSULTING, DEMEANING, DISRESPECTFUL conversation I have ever had in my 55 years as a consumer!!! The owner had nothing but excuses for my issues. There were NO APOLOGIES offered. I can't help but wonder if my treatment was because I am a female and the majority of customers at this establishment are male? He insulted me and told me several times that I "had called him, he didn't call me!" I will NEVER buy anything from The Boot Box ever again. My advice to everyone is to GO ONLINE and buy your item(s) some place else. I'll be honest, the phone conversation was so insulting and frustrating that I eventually had to hang up on the owner. I am a 55 year old high school mathematics teacher and I can truthfully say I have never ever hung up on anyone in my life. But then again, I can't remember when I was disrespected like this either. That's pretty sad considering I've spent 34 years dealing with teenagers everyday. Seriously, save yourself the trip and the frustration. Stay far, far away from this retailer!!!! read more
