What a fun shop in Brugge! Ngl I walked inside because I was drawn to the AC. It was also very stocked, organized, spacious, and clean. They display beer bottles along with the beer glasses. They give you free bags with purchase. Only some beers are refrigerated for immediate consumption though. The owner was busy helping other people at the register. I wish they had more staff to talk about their beer selections. read more

As I came to the beautiful town of Bruges for the 3th time, we decided to make it a very unique beer trip. The last time we came to Bruges, we actually visited a very nice beershop, very near to the market. It was called 'The Bottle Shop'. Last time we went, we had a very nice talk with the shopkeeper (new since october 2013), who is very enthusiastic and tells you everything you need to know about the beers! So this shop was going to be our first stop on our trip :) Once arrived, we saw the shop's interior changed completely. There even is a nice smell when you enter it. It has something of a beer cellar now, which makes the experience even better. The shopkeeper and his personell are much, much friendlier than the first time we visited the shop. If you are lucky he even makes a funny joke. This shop is an absolute must do in Bruges. read more

We had a great experience here, it was worth the walk from the other sights we were seeing! First off, I didn't get yelled at for trying to snap a picture of the place like I did in another beer shop in Brugge. I wanted some lambic beer and my husband wanted to try a few Trappist beers, and they had an excellent selection of both. We were both a little overwhelmed and asked someone stocking bottles if she could help us. She acted more than happy to help, and immediately gave us a TON of great recommendations for beer. She asked a lot of questions to help us find something that we'd like, talked to us about beers we prefer and things we'd tried before, etc. All in all, we were in and out in less than 15 minutes and were super happy with our choices. I couldn't recommend The Bottle Shop enough! read more
I shopped in several local beer stores on my trip and the attitude here is is the worst!! The only bad encounter I had in Bruges at all was in this shop! Other than that the people are delightful and they have a great city. This store was the second place I visited, and being that I intended to buy several beers and make a large purchase I asked for some advice. The woman rude to begin with, which I was going to let pass (I just came from Paris). However when I asked about the Westvleteren 12 she had displayed (with a very reasonable price) she refused to sell it to me and said it was for display only. I picked it up and showed her there was a price on all of the bottles and she literally snatched it from my hand and put it back (and muttered something dirty about Americans under her breath). Needless to say I was totally dumbfounded by this put down the basket I had collected and left. If she doesn't want the business of Americans, I say don't give it to her! The Bier Temple down the block was very friendly and sold me the exact same beer, no fuss. What that woman's deal is I will never know, but there are too many good beer stores in the area with great selections for me to recommend a fellow American shop here where we are obviously not wanted. and it's too bad, looked like a cool store, and easily could have been. But if your American do me and yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'll ad that on my way in I saw her scold another tourist for snapping a photo of inside the store. She should have been flattered, that person left to without buying anything, guess she wanted to keep it a secret that her beer is the same stuff available everywhere else in town. read more

This shop is located very close to Markt (and our hotel). It made for an quick provisions stop the day we left since we could run out and get back before check-out time. We had stopped by the evening before and it was closing time so we did not want to intrude the busy staff. The place was large, clean, well stocked and organized. This was in direct contrast to another location that had been recommended and near our hotel. I managed to get all the brands and styles I had been looking for and unable to locate anywhere else. The prices were fair and the choices, many. It was a browser's delight. Too bad we didn't have more time. I could have browsed endlessly. We met the owner, who took great pride in his shop, and had a pleasant conversation about where we lived (and alligators). Don't bother look anywhere else for your bottled beer, just come here and get what you need. read more
