I came here for a small intimate event during Christmas time. We were set up in one of the small rooms, probably the smallest I'm guessing. After the event, everyone was raving about the food. We had a choice of beef, chicken, lamb or fish. I chose the beef, but wish I had selected the lamb or fish as both looked great. Here, they really focus on presentation of the meals. Too bad the beef entree wasn't all that great. Service was outstanding as you would expect. read more

If I could give 0 stars for this Avenue, I would. Everything was horrible, starting from the lady in charge of the service had such a rude attitude, her way of replying with sarcasm when I asked her if they offered certain decorations of flowers and candles. They are super expensive and all they offer is plastic plates that you will find at Dollar store (i swear I am not exaggerating), they charge you $25 for a wine bottle and all the offer is flat $3 Moscato and red wine from Trader Joes. Everything was horrible and I regret doing my engagement party at this place. The microphones were not loud enough for a room of 30 guests, they only hire one waiter because they wanna be cheap and the food is not worth the price. Everything let me down and my engagement ended up being so bad just because of this place. read more

Me and my husband got married here in January 2016. I loved how flexible, caring, and helpful they were from start to finish. Our wedding turned out beautiful, and The Bougainvilleas really helped make everything as stress-free as possible. Edited because I also wanted to add this: Rasha was extremely helpful the entire way through. She was always there for any small question or concern, and I always knew I could count on her to take my issues seriously. I have a newly diagnosed autoimmune disease which makes it nearly impossible for me to eat out of my home without getting horribly sick. Rasha made sure that I could enjoy a meal at my wedding that was safe for me to eat AND delicious. She was so incredibly kind when dealing with my neediness in this area, and it meant the world to me and my husband! From my mom: "Very thankful my daughter, Becca, found the Bougainvilleas! We had her wedding there on Sunday and they did a great job! It was beautiful and the food was great. Rasha worked closely with the Bride and Groom to make sure of what they wanted and scheduled plenty of meetings with them to make sure their vision was achieved. Everything else in our budget was either Tuscan or country, Becca and Luke really wanted an elegant look and they got it at the Bougainvilleas! And within their budget. To have a sitdown dinner and the cupcakes and a wine and beer bar (they also signed up in a month where they got free fruit and cheese, which was a huge display and gorgeous!). The chapel room was perfect for the 50 person wedding the kids wanted, but it was really great to see the different sized rooms to fit any wedding size. I planned for my sister's surprise birthday party with only 3 months to organize. Add to the fact that I was working on a tight budget and Christmas had just finished. We looked at several places, but The Bougainvilleas is the one that stood up the most. From the moment we saw the building all the way to the day of the event, I was very satisfied. The first time we went to The Bougainvilleas, the beautiful scent welcomes you to the venue. Though this is a very small detail, the subtle smell of flowery candles gave an enchanted feeling as if you've just entered a different place in Houston. From the chandeliers on the ceilings, the hallways, and the size of the ballroom, every inch and detail of the place allowed me to further envision on what I want for my sister's milestone birthday. Rasha and Riley worked with us and gave us room to play with our budget. The package they offered us was reasonable, and they were wonderful to work with from the planning stage all the way to the day of the event. I did not feel any kind of stress whatsoever because they made sure that the vision I had to surprise my sister was executed without any problems. There was a small misunderstanding during the event, but Rasha made sure that the issue was resolved promptly. By the end of the night, our guests did not want to leave the venue just yet because they had so much fun. We received nothing but comments, telling us that the place was beautiful and the party was exquisite. They have taken a lot of pictures in the venue just because there were so many picturesque places to take pictures in. Most importantly, my sister was very happy with the venue, and she loved every second of it. Thanks, Rasha, Riley, and the rest of the staff, for exceeding my expectations. We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday at the Bougainvilleas and it was absolutely beautiful! Rasha and Kate were simply amazing during the planning process! They took our ideas and brought them to life. They treated us like family so it was easy to trust them and their suggestions. All of our guests reached out to us afterwards raving about how delicious the food was and how beautiful the room looked. My only complaint was that I felt the night flew by so quickly... time flies when you're having fun! All of the vendors Rasha and Kate recommended were so wonderful to work with! Cake was to die for, balloons were gorgeous and DJ had us dancing the whole time! I can't wait for our next event!! read more

What a fantastic venue and fantastic coordinator, Rasha! I have only been back in Houston 2 years after being gone for 20+, so I really didn't know where to start in my planning. I knew I needed to start with the venue. We got engaged in June and in July decided we were going to go for a November wedding, so I felt a bit rushed :-). I narrowed down the venue search, which wasn't easy but having a rough idea of the date we wanted and an "idea" of what I wanted was helpful. I didn't want an outdoor wedding, I didn't want a reception in a room with no windows, I didn't want to spend my life savings and it needed to be a Saturday as 75% of our guests were coming in from out of state. The Bougainvilleas really is a hidden gem. It's in the corner of a strip mall and hardly noticeable. But, when you walk in, you really feel like you're in a whole different city! I LOVE the Bougainvilleas vines and flowers along the outside and the chapel was where we had the ceremony and reception. It was perfect for our 50 guests. Rasha was amazing from the very beginning. I have a full-time job and the venue is a bit of a distance from my work and my home. Since we had so many out-of-towners, I had hotel and other things to coordinate also, so her vendor recommendations were critical and very helpful. read more

I had my engagement party in the Golden Room 65 guests. I booked about a month before and I got everything I wanted. Rash was the coordinator who did awesome job. A very patient person and was always trying to make me happy. She is a person to rely on. Rash has helped pick a stage decoration place, the cake, and the linens. The linens are part of the package but you will have to pay more to get the upgraded silk linens. Totally worth it! Her assistant Brittany was amazing as well. She helped more on the day of the party. The dinner was from Café Caspian, served by the venue. The food was beyond amazing. The buffet was well put together in an elegant way. Everything was silver and gold. All of my guests had full plates and come went back for more. We did not run out food. I also had a fruit bar-addition- that was beyond amazing and beautiful. They engraved the watermelon with our initials. The fruits were more than enough to serve everybody. The package came with dinner and sweets. I had brought some of my own traditional sweets as well but the venue's sweets were really nice too. They provided- brulee, mini-fruit tarts, and something else. They also had unlimited coffee and tea on a beautiful set-up as well. My guests still are still talking about it weeks later. The staff went above and beyond. Everyone was respectful and polite to my guests. Fast serves as well. No one had complaints. Tip: know what you want and make decisions before you go in. This place is not as costly as other places when you compare the package. I got what I wanted at this venue for less. And by less I do not mean cheap! I have attended a weeding and a baby shower in the same room before and that is who I knew and fell in-love with this place. I have also attended another party in the bigger room and that one is also beautiful but will require you to have more guests as it is very big. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and would be willing to host another event here. read more

Finding the right venue is always the toughest job (Wedding Date: July 29, 2017). We found our reception through "The Knot" and are so happy that we made the appointment in September 2016 to see the venue in person. The Bougainvilleas Event Venue is very reasonable in price and their staff is AMAZING! Badra, the owner is so HELPFUL. And, we truly mean that. She did everything in her power to ensure that our wedding day ran as smooth as possible - asked every question she could possibly ask to ensure that we had everything covered and if we didn't she offered her assistance. Our wedding day coordinator, Natalia, was amazing to work with as well. Very personable, easy to talk to and was never annoyed by my spreadsheets/endless questions! In addition to their staff, they have an in house catering team - their service was AMAZING and the food was GREAT! Their catering team had a great customer service - very attentive and always ensured that our guests were fully taken care of. They walked around with smiles and never once did I see anyone with a frown - this was one of our main requests and we are so happy to say that they've fulfilled this request. Customer service is huge part of the night and The Bougainvilleas Event Venue have done an exceptional job. They didn't treat as as just another "wedding", they knew us by first name basis and really took the time to get to know us more and to ensure that all our wedding wish lists were met. The Bougainvillea is a great venue and hidden gem in Houston. The venue is beautiful on the inside with the updates and remodeling that were recently completed. The Bougainvillea was used to host a Houston employee townhall meeting and holiday luncheon during the week for approximately 110 people. The venue was the perfect size to accommodate our needs and special requests for this corporate event. While this venue typically caters to special events such as weddings, receptions, birthdays, banquets etc., the Bougainvillea should not be overlooked when considering venues for hosting corporate functions as well. The event planners Rasha and Britney were very flexible and easy to work with leading up to as well as the day of the event.
