Im sorry to rubbish all the other courses but there really are better places to go! (However, i believe the Art College it good but then again I don't think it's part of the uni) However, if you are going to university just to have fun this is the place to do it! The beach is 7 miles of golden sand, the nightlife is really good and caters for all tastes so whether you're in to hip-hop, r'n'b, pop, heavy metal... whatever, you'll be happy in Bournemouth. The town is very pretty, the array of shops isn't vast but it's enough. It has been rated by the gaurdian as the no.1 new university, and I certainly think it lives up to that reputation by virtue of its media and tourism courses. The animation course is said to be the no.1 in UK. The Multimedia journalism course is also counted among the top 4 or 5 media courses in the country. As student Unions go, this one isn't bad, the drinks are cheap, the food is cheap, both taste…read moregood..but something is lacking? Despite the flat screen showing music videos or football, and the music being turned up loud, this combined with the pool tables just doesn't make a union bar which makes you think wow what an amazing union! there is something lacking in decor and definetly something lacking in the staff but maybe thats just because they are on the side of the bar where they can look at the booze but not touch?? Socially Bournemouth University struggles to hold its own against the lively town centre, with a sprawling campus not all the students are near to the union and bar owners in the town know this so compete with drinks prices making the union great for a drink between lectures or after exams, but not necesarily where you'd choose to spend Friday night
