There are occasional little local difficulties, but these are overcome within minutes. We are after all human. Maybe a few tweeks for next year otherwise brilliant organising. Congratulations are in order to Malcolm, Sue and Lynn getting on board the required number of Invigilators for the various days/weeks/months. Long hours and hard work in processing all the examination paperwork in the right rooms at the right times in such a professional and orderly fashion is amazing. They must walk miles in a day I truly believe outsiders have no idea how the system really works and the long hours put in to making the exam period run so smoothly. As for the students themselves, we know a few of them really don't want to be sitting in an exam room at all, but I have never come across such well behaved students in such a large school. Congratulations to the Parents as well as the Teachers. Also a big thank you to the Teachers for acknowledging us when we are in the school environment. It makes life easy and the job worth doing. Despite the flat screen showing music videos or football, and the music being turned up loud, this combined with the pool tables just doesn't make a union bar which makes you think wow what an amazing union! there is something lacking in decor and definetly something lacking in the staff but maybe thats just because they are on the side of the bar where they can look at the booze but not touch?? Socially Bournemouth University struggles to hold its own against the lively town centre, with a sprawling campus not all the students are near to the union and bar owners in the town know this so compete with drinks prices making the union great for a drink between lectures or after exams, but not necesarily where you'd choose to spend Friday night

It is a primary school and middle school combined…read more In Dorset we still have primary education until Year 7, but will fall into line with the rest of the country by 2010. St Mary's is a school of around 630 pupils. It's does extremely well in the league tables, which I, personally, disapprove of. I feel that SATs should be scrapped. The school community is very caring whilst encouraging personal independance. Each pupil is encouraged to be efficacious, as well as a good team member. The upper years have regularly won trophies at different sports, and interests also include the environment, St Mary's Organic Garden, music, drama and many other disciplines. My daughter plays in the school band, and sings in three choirs.

I am writing as a parent whose son has completed 4 years studying at the College and his second…read morecourse was Electrical Installation, which he had to pay for as he was over 18 years' old. This course was 2 years' full-time study and then he had to go out in to the workplace to achieve competencies in different areas and achieve a specified number of hours. He completed the full-time course in July 2018 and has been working as an electrical trainee since leaving the course. The College was excellent up until the time that he went out into the workplace and follow up has been little and almost non-existent since and as it stands today, 21 June 2019, the students have still not received their log book to complete and so no assessment can be made by assessors in order to achieve their qualification. Some of these students are already training/working on sites governed by CITB and Health & Safety Construction Phase Plan's where competencies have to be shown prior to starting on sites. This is a vocational course which should include assessors carrying out assessments but it appears to be failing in this area. It is just not good enough and these students deserve your support.

The canteen is an extermely pleasant room with floor to ceiling windows, giving a panoramic view of Holes Bay. The food is serve yourself salads, and hot food like a carvery. I never quite know where to start, so always check out the hot food first. Meats are beautifully cooked, and sliced generously. Vegetables are always great. The salads are always a dead cert. They vary from potatoe salad, mixed bean, carrot, beetroot, pasta salads and variatins on any salad I've come across. The prices are very good as, because they are a charity, the RNLI are not allowed to profit above a certain margin. The canteen has variously sized tables with chairs. It also has trainee life boat men. From the centre of the canteen, a large spiral staircase takes you up to the bar. Unfortunately, alcohol is not served until after 5pm as it is a place of education. The views from up here are magnificent. Members can use the accomadation, hostel style, for occasional use. There are several conference suites, which are really fab - I've interviewed in one of them. There are a couple of viewing places to watch the training pool, where trainees get ready for stormy seas and rescue techniques. Loos are clean and access is very good.
