This was my very first time dining here, but after successfully purchasing a beautiful 2022 Lexus ES 350 at Brambleton Imports, I sort of have developed an interest in many of the businesses located on Brambleton Ave. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Brambleton Deli in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. So today, I decided to have dinner here and try it out. Arriving a little before six, their front parking lot was already full. Luckily the parking lot continues around the side.of their building and into the back where it turns into an even larger parking lot. After parking my car in a safe spot, I walked to the front of the restaurant and entered through the front door after passing by their outdoor dining patio. There was already a long line of customers waiting to be seated. But with patience the friendly hostess got to me and brought me to one of the booths of the place. My friendly server Kelty soon arrived to greet me and take my order. To drink I ordered a Sweet Ice Tea. As an appetizer I wanted to have their Mini Corn Dogs but they were so many for one person that the server suggested I have the Kids Mini Corn Dog as appetizer and I did. For my main course I had their Pork Barbecue Platter, with Pit Cooked Pork, Cole Slaw and Onion Rings as side items. The 6 mini corn dogs were delicious, crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, and having them made the wait shorter. The BBQ sauce came on the side. While the food was cooking my server came by to check on.me and give me a refill of Sweet Ice Tea. I asked her about where the bar was and she told me on the other side.of the restaurant and that some nights they have live music there. I figured if it was so crowded today on those nights it must really be crowded. By this time the food was ready and brought to my booth. The Pork was fresh and juicy, and after I spread the BBQ sauce over it, it was even better, the Onion Rings and Cole Slaw were also very good. And the Reese's Peanut Butter Pie was outstanding. After I paid the bill, I went for a walk to see the bar and the area where they play live music some nights. On the other side of the restaurant and next to the bar, this other dining area is more elegant and stylist in part for the quality of the furniture and lighting treatment. Can't wait to come again some night with a group of friends to listen to the live music. I definitely recommend this place as somewhere to go and spend some quality time in a relaxed environment, with good food at reasonable prices and to top it off live entertainment. read more

Not sure how to write this. The past few times we have been seated then told as we are ordering our food order that the wait is up to 45 minutes due to "something ". We tried to sit and nurse some drinks but finally had to get our check and left- twice now. It always seems active which is a reason we keep trying to be good patrons. Just trying our patience a bit. The Brambleton Deli has been a favorite of mine since we moved here nearly 30 years ago. The food is nearly always good (I love the BD Special) and the staff is usually attentive and pleasant. Something is wrong, though. The past two or three times we stopped in, the wait for food is almost intolerable. I have heard from other loyal patrons as well. On a recent Friday evening (5:30) we were quickly seated, our waiter rapidly took our order and then stated, "The kitchen is experiencing delays, it may be 45 minutes to an hour to get your order." A BD special with onion rings, and an All American burger with no special order and fries. It did take 40 minutes- which made us relieved?? I have waited over a half-hour and received cold/warm lamp warm food. Not sure where the problem lies, but I hope they can get back on track; I love me a BD Special. We love this place, great atmosphere and music. Friendliest staff. We come every week. Italian sun is superb! We also love the wings, Haverti chick sandwich and their onion rings ( to die for). Convenient location with tons of dining space - both indoor and outdoor. Their beer battered fries are too tasty! We ordered the deli fries, cheesesteak, and B.D. Special all with more fries. The deli fries were my favorite but we were too hungry to remember to snap a pic! The cheesesteak was the second favorite and it just melted in out mouths. The B.D. Special is a very Italian sub so it wasn't for me but thats just a personal preference. The portions were plentiful and the price was not too shabby either! read more

I ordered 2 burgers and large onion ring when I went to pick it up I was surprised the total $38.35 you got to be kidding me as that will be my last time ordering from them. Honestly, mine was pretty meh. They have a lot of potato chips to compensate for a tiny amount of meat and cheese so little that you couldn't see or taste any except on the corners. I think they must use cheese triangles because it was a steak sandwich with invisible cheese. It tasted like the kind I would make at home. Nothing special about it and I certainly won't drive to get it. His burger was very pretty to look at. He says it was just ok. He said the bacon ruined it for him because a good mushroom and cheese burger doesn't need it. He didn't taste the spicy mushrooms or the mustard. He said he wouldn't order it again. We both decided to try it again and try a deli item next time. Friendly service. They had a full bar and games on everywhere. There was a very loud woman behind me that sounded either hard of hearing or possibly drunk. She was so loud that it kind of ruined the moment. I wasn't expecting it to be a bar/deli. Oh, my! Croissant chicken salad ... where to start? The croissant roll was more of a thick roll, with a little bit of croissant flaky layers on the top. Definitely on the cheaper end of restaurant supply. Chicken salad was dry, and not a bit of flavor. Felt like the whole lunch was off the markdown shelf at the grocery. This restaurant is ridiculous. We have been regular customers for years but since Covid, you cannot place a takeout order because they do not answer the phone or it is off the hook, literally. Not just one time, but a few time, I called and called and got a busy signal, I continued until my husband got to the restaurant at which time they said, "Oh, the phone is off the hook." WTF? Then today, it's Easter. I went to the website, checked the hours. Website says OPEN. I called, no answer, no answering machine to say they are closed. No side comments with hours on Easter. I placed an order on line, paid and was told my order would be ready on Tuesday morning!!!! ???? I called ChowNow and they cancelled the order but surprise, surprise the owner didn't answer the phon, so I could have my money refunded. That will have to wait until he decides to answer an email. This used to be a good restaurant but now they are just ridiculous. It's okay if you go in and sit in their shabby out dated ambience, but NEVER try to place an order to pick up. They don't do that without the run around. Also, guess where it says they are closed today?? On Facebook! I do not check Facebook for restaurant hours. Have been a patron of Brambleton Deli for 30 years. Recently, our last three visits service has been super slow. Typically, close to an hour for 4 guests to be served. Basic entrees like burgers, nachos and standard food items. Not sure if management has changed or perhaps our timing was during busy periods. Disappointed on the slow response times. Table for three came at 7ish and we were seated right away. However we sat for 15 min with no one acknowledging our presence as we watched staff go in and out for the other three tables. We are very thankful for The Brambleton Deli. It is one of the very few restaurants in the valley that is consistent with their food. The Italian sub, wings, burgers, pretzel sandwich and salads are our favorites. We love sitting on the patio during the nice weather. We have been coming here for years and we are always highly satisfied with the food. Its very rare to find a place that can deliver that kind of consistency. My wife and I recently moved to Roanoke from Fargo ND. We decided to visit Brambleton deli following a yelp search. We arrived at 7pm. There was no line or seating issues and we elected a booth in the bar. After we were seated we did have a waitress arrive and take a drink and app order. The first drink. It was terrible. I ordered a bloody marry. It arrived in a short glass with a lime. In Fargo you get a bloody in a regular glass and it has anything from a meat stick to a half sandwich on top along with a side car of a tap beer. The first sip was terrible. Something was not adding up with this drink. The flavor was way off, not strong but very watered down and the mix was off putting. Do not order this drink. I ordered a app of French onion soup. This app didn't arrive until 30 minutes after we got our above mentioned drink. It was cold and watered down also. There was no flavor in the soup. For dinner we order full rack of ribs with macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. 1 hour and 15 minutes after we had received apps the meal came out. The ribs overcooked, macaroni and cheese was actually cold and the cole slaw was one of the worst we ever had. Overall this was a letdown. This isn't local crowd and it's been around for a long time. It's not updated and feels like 1980 without great music. I hoped for better. read more

Overall, the food and service are very good. My favorite is the Club Sub. My wife likes the Reuben and hot wings. Their basket of fries is the best. My only complaint is they started charging 3.5% fees for all credit card transactions. Very few restaurants in the area do that. read more

Since the pandemic, we have included Brambleton Deli in our rotation of locally owned restaurants to support for our Friday night dinners. I call in the order before hand, & pick it up. There is never a problem. My husband always gets a bacon, bbq, onion ring on top burger & thinks it's one of the top burgers in the area. Cooked perfectly, med. well, with a hint of pink. The sauce doesn't make it soggy, which is nice. Fries cooked perfect, crunchy on outside, moist & flavorful inside. Their cheesecake is one of the biggest slices around, & very reasonably priced. I usually get a plain burger cooked perfectly med well, with everything on the side, & it is always thoughtfully packaged. We love it when it's BD on our rotation. The utensils are normal sized, not the tiny kind, & you don't ever have to check the bag because the orders are consistently correct. I highly recommend. read more

A diversity of good things. 4.5 stars. We stopped at the Brambleton deli seeking some respite from a weekend of eating barbecue. They have a wide variety of selections on the menu that all look good, including pizza, classic deli sandwiches, soups and salads. After all that though, I ended up getting a barbecue sandwich! And I am so glad I did. It was a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with succulent pulled pork. Fantastic! The sweet tea was good here too. My friend got a Ruben, and as one who appreciates true deli sandwiches, said it was great. The service was good, despite what previous reviews had suggested, and we enjoyed outdoor seating on the patio. They also have a thriving sports bar venue inside, as well as a dining area that accommodates a more family-style meal. My work orders from here frequently. I get the Greek sub with steamee broccoli instead of chips. The sub is very good, with blocks of cheese and plenty of ham. Very filling, and I always enjoy the Greek salad dressing that comes with it. read more

I wanted to like this place. Some friends and I are looking for a new hangout where we can get some food and watch football. I was hoping that this could be the place. But as you can see from my star rating, I wasn't too happy. I tried the nachos and these had to be one of the worst versions of nachos I've ever had. The cheese didn't taste very good and the chips were way too thick. Also, salsa and sour cream were served on the side in plastic cups. Not sure why they did that. I also tried their version of the cheesy western. Hands down, the version at Texas Tavern is cheaper and better. The appeal here appears to be cheap alcohol. That's pretty much the only reason I can come up with. For whatever reason, some (not all) of the staff appeared to have an attitude problem. One of my group members wanted to watch a particular college game and the bar staff made such a ridiculous issue about it. The service wasn't all that great either. Our server started off strong but then became increasingly surly and just an overall jerk. Overall impression thus far: decent drinks, mediocre food, spotty service. I am from out of town, San Antonio, TX to be exact. I love this place and every time we come to Roanoke to visit family, we always drop by! The deli is literally been here for years and my parents remember going here when they were younger. I have gotten the nachos before and contrary to some, I loved them. They have their own way of making them and they are delicious! I love deli sandwiches too so this place is a double hit in my book. I am pretty lame when it comes to food but I always get the Turkey Club. Simple but still very appetizing. I usually do not get chips and will substitute in fries for an extra charge. I find this meal really filling and never get dessert because of it. My party usually gets alcohol, beer or wine, and that seems to work with them. No complaints on that end. I have also heard that their sweet tea is amazing! To me this looks like a good hang out spot for most and there is always people there when we go. Other than the normal restaurant seating, there is a bar section with booths against the wall if you'd rather sit in there. The lunch crowd is pretty thin but even at dinner, we have never had to wait. Sometimes we have larger parties and we always get sat/served in a timely manner. Customer service is great in my opinion and the waitresses seem to be attentive overall. Food is really quick, so there isn't even a need to get appetizers sometimes because of how fast it is! In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this deli and think for the price you get what you should. Like I said before, we always eat here more than once when we visit so that obviously means something too. My rating system- 5: Amazing! I would definitely recommend to anyone. I will come back again and again! 4: This place is pretty great in my book. I will be back. It is better than just average. 3: This place is okay, average. This place is usually not on my list of places to go in Roanoke to eat, but my daughter had a game nearby and we needed a place for our picky kids. This was perfect for them and a pleasant surprise for us. Hector was our server and he was so helpful and friendly! I went with the Philly Cheese Steak and hubby had the Brambleton Special. The cheese steak was good, but my husband said that was the best sandwich he ever had. The kids had dessert - hot fudge cake and Snickers pie. Neither were overly sweet and Hector brought extra plates with whipped cream. Also a pleasant surprise is that kids eat free on Tuesdays! Excellent and will be back. read more

This is a favorite place for Mrs Batman and myself. Food is good, service is fast, and the parking lot is usually full. Mini corn dogs are a good way to start. I go for the BBQ. They do have a variety of BBQ sauces to try, not as many as at Famous Dave's but these are much more regional. There is an area for outdoor eating if that is your thing. The nightlife can be very busy here so get there early. There is even an area for you to smoke and eat. I am usually there for lunch as is Ray Ray. This is the best place to eat for several miles around. read more
