We stopped here for an early dinner on the way home from visiting family. We sat outside as it was lovely weather. We shared the pork belly bites with bourbon sauce and wow-that was delicious! I also got the BLT sandwich, and it was just perfect. The bread was toasted and the bacon was crispy and flavorful! However, I was a bit disappointed that the chips were just from a bag, and not house chips.

Stopped by here for dinner. There was live music when we were there. Great selection of local beers. The burger was good. It was delicious. Friendly and fast service. Highly recommended!

Love love love this restaurant! If you want down home vibes & a really good burger, I highly recommend. The sunshine or sunrise burger (can't recall the name) but omg so good!

One of the few local places serving food Fri after Thanksgiving. They accommodated our party of 8 despite being busy. Felt bad they only had 1-2 servers. Obviously impacted time to get our food. Got to jam out to live music while waiting. For the price, Burger I had (bacon and egg) was pretty good (3.75/5) and sweet potato fries were tad better (4/5). Wife got fried pickle fries and hush puppies, which she enjoyed...though cost more than my meal lol.

The people was so nice! And the service was quick with hot food ready to eat! They gave me tips on what to order also.

As I cut a piece of the chicken, I noticed it was extremely tender. I also noticed that it appeared to be chunks of a breast hand battered. I dipped the chicken into the hot honey and then the ranch. OMG it was the BEST boneless chicken wing I've ever had! Seasoned perfectly with lemon pepper and cooked to perfection. We ate the whole plate of chicken! Brooke was our server and she said she was going to try them herself later. She was very helpful and offered a wide variety of food and drink options. I like when staff has actually tried the food and drinks to be able to offer and honest opinion. I ordered a river District, social margarita and a rum punch. Both were very good. The inside is so cool. The restaurant is a warehouse that they've turned to a recreational building to include pool tables, bowling alleys, and golf simulators. We will definitely be coming back!

Simple and classic. We both made a few tweaks. She skipped the onions, added ketchup and mustard, and got a side salad. I kept mine simple with no ketchup or mustard. Food came out fast. Appetizer and burgers hit the table in just over five minutes, which was impressive. The burgers were good. Not over the top, but juicy and worth the price. The only miss was the bun. It was cold and could have used a quick toast or at least some heat. The house salad was fresh with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cheese, and croutons. I tried to swap my fries for sweet potato fries and ended up getting both, so no complaints there. Just know the sweet potato fries count as extra. Fries came out hot and stayed hot. The sweet potato fries had a nice balance, not soggy, not too hard. The corn fritters were the standout. Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside. Service from Amber or Shannon was great. Attentive, friendly, and helpful. The only slowdown came at the end. It took longer to get the check than it did to receive the food. The space is in a reclaimed industrial building with exposed brick and high ceilings. Very large and open with plenty of room for groups and events. There is a main dining area, a busy bar, and a separate section with bowling lanes. The crowd was mixed. Families, couples, groups, people at the bar, even a few on laptops. Plenty of TVs and music, but it stays at a manageable level. Accessibility is decent with a lift available. Parking is nearby street or lot parking. Overall, a fun, casual place with strong value, especially on Tuesday nights. Must order: Corn fritters Heads up: Buns may come out cold and sweet potato fries are an extra

Not a fan of big families for any number of reasons. I prefer the way plants reproduce, like by…read moregerminating seeds or even better by grafting. Seriously, or nearly so, think how much better, as compared to standard issue childbearing, grafting would work for humans, like first of all no more Lamaze breathing classes for dads (after all of which are done, many moms go for the drugs anyway). then as one generation runs out of things to do in life, rather than uproot the whole parent just insert the next generation into the trunk, thereby hopefully eliminating adolescence when most of the body develops. Fungi and molds are even better as they mature in hours, are much more resilient and easier to distribute plus they're totally anonymous: parents don't have to see how their best intentions didn't bear fruit, and their offspring have no one else to blame. the spores of these life forms are quite durable, even tolerate the conditions found in outer space. Future myco-human lifeforms could be launched by the billions from earth unceremoniously, hoping a few might land somewhere favorable to germinate rather than being sucked into and incinerated by a star. And no alphabet or arithmetic to learn in grammar school. Being a family mammal on the other hand has major downsides. an example being that if you're known to be ever-ready to venture wherever someone will buy your plane ticket, they call upon you to go see how cousin Luke or uncle Amos or whoever is doing. The boring relatives stay put back home but the black sheep migrate over the years to places you would likely not otherwise go. So it is that I was driving through central Virginia on a moonless night, on just such a family mission and frankly need a roadie, a restorative for my lagging spirits, which is why I turned off the state highway and onto a county road to see where it went, and came to this town which is how I happened onto rocky mount's finest establishment, The Alley Cat Bar. It's great to find places like this and is the reason I prefer to drive in unknown territories using old outdated AAA maps instead of gps. Not every side road exit brings you to an historic and quaintly cool town like Rocky Mount, but it's the occasional one that ends in Rocky Mount that keeps you in the wanderlust game. It' was just what I was looking for at this moment, a break from driving the dark rural Virginia roads, local music and a friendly beer crowd. I was ready. Most small towns, not much to do, so can't be too choosey but lucky here to have this place, among others by the way but none so much my kind, live music potentially a little rough around the edges crowd but, after all, it's central va. Incredible selection of beer. I missed the Tuesday nite trivia contest as well as a visit to the moonshine distillery but I had miles to go before I slept.

All-in-all, good brewery... The beer is respectable; it's not the best craft beer you will find, but for the Martinsville area, it's solid brew (we really liked their DIPA). The brewery is a veteran-owned joint and has a chill vibe... It's small, nicely designed, and has decent service (not great, but not bad). We'll stop back in again when in town.

I met Jake today, he is one of the owners and is an amazing person who is passionate about the quality of beer served. Does everyone really know what craft beer is?? Craft breweries aren't like the macrobreweries churning out billions of gallons of beer in a year. They usually care much more about how their brews taste, and they will take their time making sure that the end result is an adventure. If you haven't checked out a local craft brewery yet, you might be surprised just how creative beers can be. The beers I tried, The Lawn Mower is light American lager that you can drink all day. DA 'RONA is SCUFFLE HILLS take on a Mexican Cerveza. Pairs perfect with a lime. The Big Chair: OMG, this is the clear winner and one of the best beers I have tasted. When we first pulled in, it looked like we were pulling into someone's house, but when you get to the parking area, there is a gem beside the house. The owners live there and have such a cute place. The brewery had their cold beers on tap, along with some seltzers as well. I had the strawberry wheat beer and it was delicious. There is pulp in this one, so don't think there's anything wrong if you get pulp in your beer. The piña colada seltzer was sooo good and refreshing. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and they had live music, a hot dog stand called Triple Dog Dare Ya (delicious dogs, and they even had turkey dogs for the alpha gale folks). They have inside seating, it's very open but no air conditioned that I would tell, but it wasn't hot inside. Inside restrooms were very nice. Outside they had a stage, picnic tables, some covered and some not. Quite a few fire pits, and seating around those. They also have seating looking over the mountain. It was a gorgeous view!! You can bring your own chairs and sit out under the shade trees as well. Pups were welcome! If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by and grab a cold beer and check out the view!!
