Stopped at Rocky Mount burger company while coming home from a weekend trip. It was right on the way back home. The location was a neat little restaurant and bar. I ordered the pimento cheese sandwich and pork belly bites. The pork belly was amazing! Totally worth the trip just for that. I found pimento cheese to be pretty delicious. Wow, I normally like this place but we were here last night for a special family occasion as a party of 4 and no one's food was good except for the appetizers. All three burgers were way over cooked, the Cubano sandwich was disgusting with the pork having zero flavor and being cooked to death. Service was so slow it took a while to be served. A very disappointing evening and a horrible birthday dinner for one of our party. The waitress was good and kept apologizing but it was a truly bad experience. read more

We stopped here for an early dinner on the way home from visiting family. We sat outside as it was lovely weather. We shared the pork belly bites with bourbon sauce and wow-that was delicious! I also got the BLT sandwich, and it was just perfect. The bread was toasted and the bacon was crispy and flavorful! We stopped here on our way to SML from our home base in Winston-Salem. Our server was awesome and attentive, the live musician (TJ Ellis) was so fun and our meal was pretty dang great. We shared the book boom shrimp and each tried a different burger. Tons of options and I was in heaven due to the sweet potato waffle fries! Being a Friday night it was pretty busy and there were a few post-sports game families there as well as a full lineup at the bar top. We choose this location as they have out door tables so we could bring our small dog. Nothing fancy, picnic tables and benches. staff were friend, brought a bowl of water for dog. We ordered some soft drinks. There is a full bar. we placed our order of The Big Pig, pulled pork sandwich, and Philly Burger with a side of onion rings. We recently moved to the area (from a foodie town) and have now eaten at RMBC twice and have loved it both times! The PB&J and Big Smack were awesome (ordered by wait staff recommendation), and the potato salad is to die for. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was a little bland, but everything else we've had has been top notch. And the service has been perfect--everyone that has waited on us has been so friendly and the food comes out fast, hot, and fresh. We definitely will be back! read more

We were in town to see Ben Folds at the Harvester. Wasn't sure where to eat in town and a food truck owner at the local festival that was going on recommended we go to Rocky Mount Burger Company across the street. We got a bar like feel when we walked in. We aren't drinkers, but the atmosphere was great. Our server was super nice and brought our order out fast. I originally gave them five stars a few months ago. The burgers are still great so that would get 5. But the slow service has gotten a lot worse. We went for breakfast today and the server didn't even come take a drink order for almost 10 minutes, even though we were the only customers there. Brought the soda and coffee. No sugar for the coffee, just Splenda. Finally took the food order. I ordered eggs scrambled hard. They came soft and mushy. No flavor either. The bacon tasted great but it was tough like jerky. The biscuits were dried out and hard on the edges. I think everything (except for the eggs) is premade and sits around for a while. Sausage and gravy biscuit was served in a paper tray with paper liner! Really? They were "out of waffles" which tells me they use frozen ones. I would give them 1 star for breakfast. The servers here are just awful. They sit by the bar and chat with each other and don't pay attention to the customers. I can see why we were the only ones there, even though they're the only place downtown that serves breakfast on Saturday, and there was a farmers market going on right around the corner. Our interaction with the staff at this restaurant was horrible--nothing like I have ever experienced. After reaching out to the owner and explaining thoroughly the events that happened at our lunch, he stated the behavior of his staff was acceptable. I offered to speak with him over the phone, nothing. After explaining to the manager, politely, that we were charged for fries we didn't order, she let us know it was our fault for not coming up to the bar to tell them (our server was too busy). She then proceeded to laugh and make fun of my 3 year old daughter and I as we walked out of the restaurant (I guess not realizing my mother-in-law was still inside). When my mother-in-law said, 'reviews can be a negative thing' she proceeded to follow her into the parking lot saying, 'what did you say?!' three times. Pretty divey joint. Employees are a little stand offish and not very welcoming. The floors are absolutely filthy! It appears they haven't been mopped in months! My feet were sticking to the floor! And then the ultimate turn off, they started putting chairs upside down on the tables while customers were still in the building and eating! Rude! I stopped here with my wife for a late afternoon snack and a beer. There isn't many places in rocky mount where you can have a beer and this is a really nice, laid back spot where you can enjoy not just the beer but great food. We ended up splitting loaded tatter tots and they were pretty amazing. There was now way we could have finished them if just one of us tried to finish them. The app and two beers only cost $11 so very reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly and the service was quick. The app came out fast and the others around us all had great looking food.
