Cape Fear Customs held an event at The Brewer's Kettle that a attended. I did not step inside the actual brewery but to only drop off glasses from outside. The bartender did pop out to check on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. He was extremely accommodating and gave us a cool trucker hat to auction off! The charity was First Fruit Ministry so they received tons of donations and Cape Fear Customs raised over $900 for them! Great night, fun, funky spot!! read more

Don't pass this up. Truly a gem on a busy intersection! The brewers kettle is a bottle shop/bar with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's great for an intimate time or a group occasion. There is a variety of seating options to make any time great. We grabbed a couple beers from the bartender, and two others had cocktails. They had a great liquor selection (eagle rare!) and made a solid cocktail. They have ~20 beers on tap I believe, plus several bottled & canned in coolers for purchase. They have a wall of wines, beers, and more. They have a few cigar offerings. Outside, they have a corn hole set, plus covered & uncovered seating with TV access. Inside has a cozy section in front of windows, and high top seating by the TV. We sat there and played cards against humanity for a while. They have lots of board & card games, as well as some books. Was meeting a friend for a beer in the midtown area so we decided on the Brewer's Kettle. The outdoor space is amazing. There are plenty of tables, bar seating, fire pit and cornhole. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. They have a wide variety of refrigerated canned beer and a large selection of beer and wine to go. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can tell that a lot of care was taken to make this place nice. My friend and I enjoyed the back area and soaked up some sunshine. The only thing to note is that no one was wearing a mask inside (currently mandated). I'm not judging, just putting it out there because if that makes someone uncomfortable this might not be the place for you. We weren't there when there was a food truck and I'm not sure if they get any but I'm sure that wouldn't make this spot even better. read more

I am so lucky that I get to live around the corner from this place! It has engaging owners and local brews. I have visited when they had events, bands, outside games and on really chill evenings. First of all the outside is so cute! Little red building that stands out from the road. Inside they have about 8-10 beers on tap and they also have a large amount of beer for sale- some chilled in the fridge. Their selection is great! Everything is well organized and neat! Nice amount of seating with tables and some couch area. We sat outside in the back. There's a cute trellis area with lights strung up and good music playing. Plenty of room for a group. Yesterday was my first time visiting here with a friend because she recommended it! When you pull up the outside is super cute with seating in the front and seating in the back with a large patio with cute lights and even corn hole to play. They also allow dogs! Walking inside the decor just gets better and better amazing art on the wall and cute comfy seats to sit and relax on. They have wine, beers on draft and coffee as well. What I really love is that this place is also a bottle shop where you can purchase beer, wine, ciders, and sours. They also have mix and match 6 packs with a discount on them. Tremendous bottle shop. Firstly, I love the atmosphere here. Remodeled from a auto mechanic's shop, the red building will catch your eye from down the road. Choose between bar seating, high top tables, couches, or take a seat outside on the patio tables or next to one of the fire pits. Very relaxing and especially enjoyable and entertaining to see the dog visitors having fun. As mentioned in other posts, the bulldog mascot seen roaming the business is a delight to watch. The staff here has always been very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and helpful. The drink selection is fantastic, with some great brews, even offering wine and cider options. Local art showcased here. A couple of occasions I visited included a live DJ. A food truck branded with that bulldogs face is soon to come serving street tacos. One of these days, I'm going to go for a run at Hugh MacRae Park, stop in here for a drink, and then proceed to finish my run. read more

The bartender we had last night (didn't catch his name but he has long dark hair) was not only attentive and friendly but super helpful in offering suggestions to my sister for ciders (she's not a beer drinker). The place wasn't too full for 9:30 on a Saturday night so we were able to enjoy our conversation. What looked like an awesome bottle selection (I'll have to go back to poke around) and cigars for folks who wanna feel fancy. Great outdoor patio space that we would've enjoyed if it was warmer. I brought my wife here on a recent date, trumpeting this place's classy radness. Stephen remembered me and was friendly toward both of us, inviting us to eat the meal we'd brought with us indoors because of that day's insane heat. We'd planned to chow down outside, but appreciated his hospitality. The cold case was well-stocked with a wide variety of singles, allowing me to choose a NC-brewed pale ale while my beloved chose a Belgian lambic. We sat at one of the many small tables, while around us, other people laughed and talked at the bar and on the several couches and chair scattered throughout. Again, the Brewer's Kettle is a great place. A wide variety of quality product, a welcoming, comfortable, and classy environment (that's also dog-friendly & casual), and friendly staff. A personal FAVORITE spot. There is a very large selection of beers, wines, and ciders. There's a good amount on draft and there are coolers throughout to choose full cans/bottles. It has a very charming interior with a large table area with seating and a cozy couch corner for intimate gatherings. The outdoor space is great- it's lined with picnic tables and has 2 fire pits. You can bring your own food and sit under the lights when weather is nice. This is a great spot for a low key night out or a small gathering like book club. This place is a real hidden gem. We love coming to Brewer's Kettle to buy beer, or stay and drink a few. The inside is very cozy, and a fun place to hang with a small group. Outside there is a big outdoor seating area for larger groups or people with kids. Sometimes there is a DJ who plays which is a lot of fun. The only downfall is they have no food. They've had a food truck in the works for a while now so I'm not sure when that will be up and running. There are picnic tables in the back so you can always bring your own food if needed. read more

My experience at this establishment was both good and bad. The ambiance is great, with a real eclectic look, very clean, well decorated restrooms, and a vast selection of adult beverages. The outdoor patio is lovely, except for two things: 1. Many people are smoking, which is really uncomfortable for non-smokers 2. Some of the tables have not been sanded properly, and I was cut on some of that hardened, sharp paint pieces that are sticking up on the high tables. If this place would only allow smoking in the parking lot and fix the paint issue and the sour bartendress issue (she was working alone and not happy about it), it would be an overall much better experience and earn 5 stars. read more

I LOVE that there is a place outside that is friendly for smokers. Some folks treat smokers like second class citizens, and it sucks. I appreciate the high powered overhead fans to keep the air flowing and cool. Have been back many times since my original first review. Great spot for ipa and sour selection. Great selection, awesome back patio, and pretty lights for pristine atmosphere. I had a couple sours I've never had before and experimented with a new stout. I am very pleased! I can't say enough good things about Brewer's Kettle. The owner is very vested and is constantly improving upon his business. They have a vast beer and wine selection with some ciders and spritzers and even a couple non alcoholic sodas. They usually have some snacks for purchase. They have a nice size outdoor area and inside area with a large bar to belly up to. All of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and happy to help you find something you'll enjoy. They have live music and trivia and wine nights. The outdoor area has a big covered area and they also have lots of fire pits so the outside can be used year round. They are very dog friendly and the owner has a shop dog named Butterbean that's absolutely adorable. read more

So many wonderful new bars popping up around town, this is a must! My favorite feature of this business is the outdoor setup. It is great for dogs, large groups, and live music. Often times they also have a food truck and games set up. I like to grab a beer, cigar and tie my dogs to the runner out back so they can play too. The draft selection here is always new and exciting. Unfortunately the parking sucks if they are busy but the location is great if you live in the neighborhood. One of the best places to grab craft beer togo. They have a huge selection and a couple of coolers if you are trying to pick up something already chilled. Inside is a little small with all the beer inside but the store is well organized and I love the bench seats along the windows. It's the perfect place to grab a beer on a rainy day. I popped in here the other day after work with a co-worker. I was pleasantly surprised! They offered a wide variety of bottled and draft beers. Since I'm not a beer drinker, I was very happy to see that not only did they have wines, but they had several ciders to choose from. I was in the mood for a cider, so I got the cherry tart one that was on draft. The inside of the place is big, with a whole section dedicated to to bottles for purchase, and the other is an big, open seating area, with with one big couch by the window, and several smaller tables spaced out. The bar is nice and large. We ordered at the bar, and then since it was nice, we went to sit outside. There are several picnic tables outside, which make it so inviting. We saw another table had brought their own chips, so we made a note to bring some cheese and crackers for next time. There are corn hole boards. Also, I'm not sure if this is just a Thursday evening thing, but there was a hot dog stand set up outside, so you could purchase some food while you're enjoying your drink. First, it's adorable. One friend commented that he felt like he should be able to get a milkshake because of the retro feel. Second, the selection of beer and wine is fantastic. Not only do you have draft at the bar, but then there are coolers full of bottles. And if you don't want to drink there, you can take some home for later. The back seating was a little busy when we got there so we sat out front. For being right on Oleander, it really was still pretty quiet and peaceful out front. Third, the bartender was wearing an Ohio State shirt so he must be cool. We are true downtown people so I rarely go out of that area to drink but I will definitely come back to this place. read more

The Yelp labeling as a brewery is a bit confusing, because they don't actually seem to brew any beer themselves. The Brewer's Kettle has an extensive selection of beer in cans and bottles. However, they don't seem to be organized in any sort of way, so it can take a while to figure out what you want with so many options all over the place. Service was OK when we went. They had an open mic inside which kind of took over the space there, so it was hard to see what was on draft since the menu was only posted on the wall and the bar was full. We ended up just getting cans. I feel like a few paper copies of the draft list would have been helpful. But, all else aside the outdoor space in really nice. It's a great space to get together with friends and relax. I love that they have corn hole! Based on the space and set up I wanted to love this place altogether, but unfortunately it didn't meet expectations. read more
