I walked into the brick store in Langley, was quickly grabbed by a pushy sales person named 'Karan' - to make a long story short i ended up buying my fridge, stove and dishwasher and before I knew it a 500$plus insurance and 100$ charity donation. After that try as I may I could not get hold of him when I went into the store he just shrugged at my complaint. Appliances are not delivered and when I called someone at customer service , was told that they had not even started their journey from the warehouse and was told to call another number in Langley. Then was told that the fridge would come beginning of January followed by the dishwasher and then at a future date the stove. Frusterayed I asked my sale to be cancelled- this was when I was quickly connected to Karan meanwhile a young 'male' family member had also got on the phone because of the way I was being treated. Karan was super rude to the young man and me. repeated calls have basically told me that I am stuck till whenever and they have my close to 5000$. please be ver very careful having anything to do with this store- stay away from it I would like to add a suggestion. My electric recliner stopped working 6 weeks after buying it and it was stuck in up position. I'm 67 with two fake knees, quad by pass and lumber complete fusion so it's hard to get in and out obviously. It took a week for repair people to get back to me and I still don't have a date for them to fix it. Not impressed at all. Very poor warranty service. read more

I bought a reclining massaging sofa, love seat and chair from the brick, as well as 3 power boxes. I was told at that time that each piece required one power box. Upon delivery the 2 men complained how heavy the pieces were (fair enough, they were) and required to unbox each piece outside. Thankfully it wasn't raining. They set up the pieces, hooking up to the power boxes but apparently the sofa and love seat required 2 boxes each. From the delivery aspect I have no complaints, the men worked hard but it was very hard to communicate with them. One of the power boxes did not work. I returned it but had to wait as they had none in stock. Short time later I received a call and email saying it was in. Drove down to pick it up only to find out it was not there. End of February I was notified that the power box was available for pick up. Picked up the box and it does not work!!! Getting frustrated. Will be returning today. read more

We have purchased from the Brick over the years and have always been very happy with the products and service we have received. Recently we made a purchase at the Brick in Langley and had an issue with a delay for the delivery of the product. We were counting on having the item by the end of May and it was delayed by a month. Pam the manager and Jag in Sales provided extraordinary service for us and the issue was resolved the same day we went back to the store to see what the Brick could do for us. They went beyond what we were hoping for. It's easy to complain and get angry when things don't go your way or meet your expectations, but treat someone with respect and give them the opportunity to make it right. We are very happy with the only time we had an issue with the Brick and they made it right. We'll keep going back. read more

We recently spent a little over 4000 on a couch and love seat from the brick. We knew it would be a 4 month wait due to Covid and we felt that was acceptable. Our love seat arrived first. The delivery driver despite there being warnings not to use a knife he used a knife and put a large slash in my couch. They did not remove their shoes when asked and the driver smelled of booze and piss. To put a bow on things they tried to lie and say it came like that, he didn't know I had it on camera. After another 3 weeks our couch arrived and after 2 attempts to fix the damaged cushion they sent one that did not fit properly. Upset I became very analytical of the quality and was shocked. Stitching on cushions was not symmetrical and was off by almost half a centimetre, there is a visible hole/gap in the cushions so big you can see the wall through my couch, the bottom on the left side was a full inch lower than the other, some cushions look like they were improperly stuffed and are larger than the same cushion on the other side. I also found a large hole in a cushion where stitching had been missed completely. It took 4 trips back to the Brick to rectify everything. Best part was how they made it better. They didn't all we were given for all the crap and we were offered a flat exchange for the same set with no guarantee that the construction was any better or pick a new couch. We picked a new couch and wound up paying more. No discount, no deal, he'll I didn't even get a sincere apology. I have spend over 12000 total in my life at the brick and you could not pay me to spend another dime. Avoid this place like the plague unless you like stress induced ulcers. read more

First of all I think one star is generous. A few years ago we bought a living room furniture set. Since it was the brick I understood I wasn't buying high end furniture, which led me to purchase an extend warrant. Couches The wood used on the couch arms was so poor that they continuously broke. We had all three pieces either repaired, or replaced. On our final interaction for the couches they had someone come look at them. The repairman stated they would get back to us. They never did. I followed up repeatedly over the next six months, getting the run around on the phone. Finally I went back in to the store, where a manager told me warranties were not dealt with in house. I explained that I was not getting any service. eventually they told me the best they could do is refund me approx. 2/3 of my purchase price. However, we were stuck with an in store credit, which caused us to be stuck with more products from the brick. Washer/dryer The washing machine portion broke in our stacker. The machine was approximately 2 years old and under warranty. A week later someone came out to look at it and required additional parts. A week and a half later we still had not heard back, so we began calling to which they originally had no answer. They told us the damaged part was shipped but received. It was another week before the repairman came out to fix it. When he came with the new piece he discovered another problem with the drum and had to take that to be fixed. Credit to him he apparently took the piece home and fixed it a day later. Horrible business!!! Just bought an appliance that ended up not being the one I needed. I was told I am unable to return it even for exchange cause the delivery guys took it out of the box, which I never saw a box. I only saw the dryer being carried up my front porch. I was told that it is on me and thats the appliance I picked. So what the Brick, especially the manager that goes by the name V is saying is they have no return/exchage policy even if you had the said appliance for 2 hours and is covered in tape and bar codes. I purchased a recliner here which turned out to be on sale. The store associate who helped me (Sabbi) charged me full price for this and then gave me 3yr warranty package for free. Once I was emailed my receipt it showed I was given the sale price but then charged the cost of the warranty package. I contacted the store and told them I did not want the warranty package if I had to pay for it and now they are trying to say it's part of a package with my chair and do not want to give me a refund for it. Now I'm fighting to get a refund with the store and they are giving every excuse in the book to keep the money. I purchased a sectional from the Brick Langley. I know things are delayed due to Covid & supply chain issues, so I went 3 months in advance of when I would need the couch. We were told by the sales advisors Karen that although many couches are taking months to arrive the couch we were going to buy was local so it should arrive by early to mid August. We purchased the couch. The second week in August came & I hadn't heard anything. I called the store to get an ETA, only to be told that the couch wouldn't be arriving until early October. No one from the store called to advise of the delay I had to call myself. I have young children & had sold my previous couch. When I shared my frustration with The Brick, they bluntly told me to re select from a poor range of couches or just cancel. No empathy, no real solution. Just basically pay for something you don't like or cancel despite waiting 3 months for the couch. I ended up cancelling as I found a better couch at Pearls furniture. When I called to cancel the female manager was rude & took 2 days to refund me. The worst experience. Would not recommend or shop here again! read more

I ordered a few things from the brick, a couch a tv stand a tv and a reclining chair. Now the first 3 items were all in stock as they were clearance items I had found on the floor, but the chair was out of stock which I understood and at the time my sales associate told me there would be a delay. It seemed to be around a couple months which wasn't a big deal. I ordered this stuff in June and call in august to see how everything is progressing and they told me it was further out and wouldn't be till next month. Was kinda annoyed that they hadn't phoned me to let me know that there was a change, but whatever another month right? Phone back a month later in September and they tell me the exact same thing, more delays due to pandemic and the piece will be in October. More annoyed at this time but I let it slide. Finally they delivered the piece and one of the drivers didn't even wear a mask, I had to ask him to put his mask on mid delivery. Now I want to mention this, I worked at The Brick in Langford for 5 years, so I've seen how these kind of trucks deliver stuff. At the store I worked at they took all the garbage with them when they leave unless asked not to, which is how it should be. These guys just kinda lazily moved my sofa out of the way, plopped it in my living room and left without saying anything or moving the sofa back. Left all the garbage and packing as well. Now all of this wouldn't have drove me over the edge cause honestly, that was kinda minor stuff. The thing that really killed it was a week into using this chair I start to use the recliner function a few times and I notice that my lower back is being poked at by something. I feel around and found that the padding on the lower part of the chair is literally non existent My back is resting against a diagonal laying piece of wood as I recline. How can it be that I, a 160lb man could break this chair in so roughly that within a week it has literally no padding on the lower back already? The answer is poor product, plain and simple. Not sure why I decided to buy here, maybe because I worked here in the past and it was nostalgic? I will say this, I will never shop at The Brick OR Leons ever again in my life. My husband and I purchased a sectional as well as a mattress from The Brick in Langley, 3 weeks ago. What should have been a straight forward process ended up being anything but!!! From purchasing our furniture to find out 48 hours later our couch was $300 cheaper which I'm sure our sales consultant knew was going to be on sale. Then, being given a false delivery date which was pre planned at the time of purchase 3 weeks prior, to being told by the store manager we should be grateful we only had to wait 3 weeks as most customers have to wait at least 6 weeks as the furniture is coming from China....this is Fake news as both our mattress and sectional are both made in Canada!! When we finally had our furniture delivered, (which was the only positive experience in this entire process), only because the company is outsourced as The Brick does not wish to take away old furniture during delivery. At this time time we realized upon looking at our invoice from the delivery guy we did not have warranty on our couch!!!! I phoned Lyn and she said at the time I went in to get my price adjustment on the couch, the customer service clerk accidentally took it off. By this time I was beyond frustrated....I phoned the corporate office in Edmonton and filed a formal complaint about our shopping experience.....have yet to hear back!!!! When I went back to have the warranty put back on we realized we only recieved $250 not the $300 which was the amount we should have received! We were told that is the maximum as this is their policy! I argued that this not right and told them how much we have been inconvenienced during this ordeal....the store manager did authorize the $50 difference back to us. None of this should have happened. We are deeply disappointed as there was no apology given, it's not like we financed this purchase, everything was paid in full at the time of purchase and from that point on, we have not been treated with any ounce of customer service or regard of how this company has conducted themselves!! Please don't buy anything from the Brick!!! I bought a sofa bed in January 2021 and a week after is broken. It took 1 month for the technician to come and check it. He said is not repairable. After another month of waiting I called and they told me a replace will come at end of July. At end of July I had to go to the store and the new date for deliver the replacement will be end of September. At the beginning of September I received a call telling me that there is no replacement and I will get a credit from the store. I had to go and discuss with them that I don't want a credit and I wanted my money back. After a long discussions finally the agreed to give me my money back that I still waiting. We have purchased other items from the Brick several years ago and had no problem. Two months ago, I purchased a dining room table with a stone top. It was delivered, unpacked, and the table had a huge crack across the top. They returned and removed the table, only to deliver the SAME table to us a few days later. They came back and picked it up; a new table was delivered. There was a long gauge across this table too, and damage to the wooden legs. Customer service has been incredibly unhelpful, only to argue on the phone with us. They are now picking up the damaged table, the chairs that we purchased, and requested their "free" upholstery cleaning kit back and told us to find something else. Six years ago I purchased a mattress and box spring set from the Brick in Langley which has a 20 year warranty on the set. Four months ago I filled out the paperwork and submitted photos to the Brick as instructed on-line. Ten days later The Brick - Corporate Office emailed me to advise that my claim was rejected as the sag measurement does not meet the requirement. I immediately replied that I am not having an issue with sagging. I am dissatisfied with the PILLOW TOP. The stuffing on the pillow top bunches in areas and it is lumpy to sleep on. She advised me to contact my local store. On September 25 I contacted the manager in Langley in person. She said she would follow up with head office and get back to me. Never heard from her and it's been 3 months. So I contacted reviews@the brick. Today I received an email saying a picture was missing of the frame back in August. Four months later and after numerous emails they are telling me that my file was closed because a picture is missing??? And I have to start a new claim. I purchased this set in good faith and the manufacturer or the Brick should honour it. read more

I feel yucky after my interaction at the Brick today. I don't normally shop there, but they had some neat looking coffee tables in the flyer. I dropped in, and as I was looking at a table, I asked a slaes guy how I could tell the measurements of the table. He flipped over the label and showed me the coding for it. Great thought I. I then looked at every coffee table in the place - by myself (without a sales person following me which is good) All the tables were REALLY pricey considering this is the Brick, but I noticed signs about a " buy one get one 50% off the other" deal. So I wanted to know what happens when you buy three tables, and asked a salesperson nearest to me. She said she couldn't help me because I was "so and so's" customer (the guy who flipped the label on the first table) but that she would go get him. I stopped her cold and said "but he is not here, and I have a simple question about the sale". She wouldn't answer before trying to get away from me to go fetch the guy. So I said "Are you people seriously so commission driven that I can't even get a simple answer from somebody, as I have been tagged as belonging to this particular person" . She said essentially yes. I told her what I thought of the slimey atmosphere that creates and how it really makes for poor customer service and I marched out. I imagine all Brick stores have these sharks cruising around drooling like predators for commissions on cheap crappy furniture... it's gross and not how I want to shop. Yick. This is a unforgettable experience with Brick at Langley store. I had visited local Langley store yesterday on 17th of February to get a missing part for my TV stand. A lady told me to deliver my request and concern to right person next day which is today 18th of February. I called the store to speak and ask to someone at 10:12 am and the same lady told me that they were going to call me back few minutes later. I waited for couple hours and called the store again after the couple hours of waiting time. The lady was not happy about my call. She repeated three times that she was going to call me. I told her I called the store again couple hours later because the few minutes had gone with no news. Right after she told me last time she was going to call me, she just hung up the phone without saying anything sorry or thank you. I was the one told her 'thank you'. I know they must be busy on Family day to take care of other customers in store than my missing part for already sold and partially assembled TV stand. I have read not positive reviews on Google but I did not believe that. So I went to the store and purchased the stand. But this is not a professional even though it is regarding of a small missing part. Three hours past now after she had told me that she was going to call me and hung up the phone. so I do not do reviews, but the experience was such that I found I have no choice, and I believe nothing will come of this either but here goes, I recently bought a bedroom dresser for my daughter (her first new one) everything was good, found what we wanted, salesman was nice and helpful, talked down the price a bit and again everything was good, dresser was too big to fit into the car, had to be delivered, now the problem starts, salesman gave me a price that we agreed to for the unit to be delivered, first we got a call from delivery saying they needed an extra day to get it to us, then next day they were running late and would be delivered around 9 pm (I'm up and off to work by 4:15am every morning) they finally show up around 10pm and then it's we only deliver to the door for the price you agreed to, to bring it into the house would cost extra, to DELIVER it to the room it was bought for would be another charge on top of the extra charge, I'm 64 yrs old my daughter is 4'10", I was a furniture delivery person for 20 years and never charged people extra money to deliver their property to the room it was meant to go in. I suggest, if you do buy furniture from the brick, make your own delivery arrangements, DO NOT USE the brick delivery people, if you must use the Brick delivery people and they try to hold you up for more money just to DELIVER your product to the spot it was intended to go, refuse it, if at all possible, have them take it back to the store, then cancel the sale and buy your item(s) at a different furniture store, that will be what I am doing in the future. The reason I was sold this insurance was about my doubts of faux leather cracking. Now when this happened.. My recliner broke in October, so I went to The Brick when they had their big sale on. I found one I liked and ordered it. I was told that because of the sale, no more were available in stock so I had to wait until more became available. Was given a timeline of end of Nov. (maybe, first week in Dec.) Well Nov. came and went and then Dec. came and went, and each time I called was given the same b.s. until I was taking it no more. I marched into the store during their next big sale and demanded to KNOW when it was coming in....no b.s., just WHEN! The young kid freaked out and looked it up and said it "should" be in by end of Dec. which was almost upon us already. I screamed I didn't want any "I think" answers any more! The Customer Service Mgr. bolted to shut me up and told one of the girls to hurry and give me a refund. She was only interested in others not hearing my complaint and wanted me OUT. FINE! Your wish is granted! I promptly went over to Lazy Boy Furniture and got a much better quality one for just a few dollars more. Have been to the Brick Langley many times in the past 2 months after our recent move and bought several items we are happy with. I agree the sales people are not in your face and very helpful. However, we purchased a large outdoor patio umbrella and due to personal circumstances did not open it for a few weeks. It is defective as it will not stay still. The canvas part tips and turns and hits against anything and anyone under it. Although it came with very heavy weights on the base it tips there as well. Salesman said "it is meant for indoors"? Doesn't everyone have an indoor patio umbrella? We are stuck with one if you need it? Sales manager said we waited too long to complain.(1month) read more

I have to say I am very upset and disappointed that I was lied to. I bought a couch in Langley through the store manager. When making the deal, you/she offered me a lifetime warranty. You/she said " it's great protection, so if your child ever draws on it with sharpie or you spill red wine, we clean it or replace it. That was the sole reason I purchased from your company. When I went back to the Abbotsford location to buy the matching loveseat, I asked for the same deal. I found out that I was only given a 5 yr warranty, no lifetime. I was lied to, to make a sale. And when they have their "sales" they mark up the prices so you think your getting a good deal!
