The store is all about "sales" with tons of lip service zero on customer service. Service staff skirting customer's assistance request e.g., product information by passing the buck from one to another. After 2 or 3 visits in store enquiry with zero result. Finally, a down to earth technical staff "Daniel" fixed my product right away. Daniel is a no nonsense gem in a house of lip service staff over-promised under-delivered. I have bought a recliner that felt comfortable in the store. Unfortunately, sitting in it for a longer period it is very uncomfortable and I had a hip injury, so I can't use it. Also, I must be allergic to the material as it made me itchy within a few hours. I called and tried to return it, but Brick has a "no return policy" the salesman never told me about. I was brushed off and now I'm stuck with a 1800 dollars mistake. Also, they sold me an open item with no manual or warranty papers. I can't figure out how the buttons work. There must be some secret to it as the buttons don't always do the same... Anyway, I 'm warning everybody from buying furniture at the Brick. You should be able to return such an expensive item if you are not satisfied. On the website, they talk about Satisfaction Guarantee and Return procedures, but the fact that "special items" are not returnable. When you read it, you would never guess that a furniture is a "special item" as this is what they are selling. In other words, their policies are DECEPTIVE. Very disappointed. My boyfriend and I visited this store Mar 17/18 and ordered/paid for the left facing two piece izzy sectional sofa bed which arrived as planned and is great. Thank you for that. When we arrived to the store we were given the space to wander and Feri, the nearby sales person in flip flop shoes was informative and helpful when we had questions. The sofa arrived and needed simplistic assembly however the enclosed info sheet was for a massive 4x3- including chaise - sectional. When completing the online survey I indicated this to which we received a follow-up call from someone abruptly telling my boyfriend we are wrong. Period. Even if *we are misinformed* no one should be saying so in such a manner - especially if you're not even sure what paperwork was sent. As my boyfriend took the dayoff specifically to accommodate the delivery of this item, I used his contact number on the order (and recently on the survey). Thus they called him. He was shocked at their communication. Assembling this isn't rocket science so locating the two piece instruction isn't important at this point. However I'd seriously think twice when shopping again for anything The Brick sells. read more

We decided to purchase a fridge at the brick after searching on their website which provided a better delivery date than its competitors (Home Depot, Rona, Trail) we had shopped around and the prices for the exact fridge were relatively similar except Rona had free delivery and $150 credit if you signed up for a Rona credit card. We decided to go with the Brick because their system online and in store provided a delivery date of December 16th versus late December like its competitors. It was very important to us to have a fridge for Christmas dinner. We called the Brick on the 16th and they said delivery was delayed until January 7th. A similar incident happened to my brother and a delay for his couches. There seems to be a pattern of over promising and under delivering. I wish I had read the reviews first and went with Rona. They ruined my mothers Christmas dinner party as she had no fridge. I was happy when I receive a call from the manager ; however I became even more upset when all he did was blame the salespersoI found this quite low of the company to blame the salesperson who was quite nice and simply communicating the delivery date which was on their system and the one I also saw on their website. Instead of trying to resolve the issue for future purchasers they threw their employee under the bus. This is definitely not a place that I respect or would deal with again. Update Jan 2020. Never heard from the brick again and still irritated when I read this a year later! WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN... Even if I have to spend a few more dollars..not worth the hassle! The customer service lady there Marium was rude, short, and lacked information, when I asked for the spelling of the Ops Managers' name because I couldnt hear the name properly (who was to call me later) she wouldnt spell it for me, I asked why and she said "because she did not like me", and then when i insisted she hung up the phone. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Disgusting in fact. On top of it there is a NO Return policy for anything that remotely looks unpackaged (even tho it requires assembly to SEE how it will actually fit after purchased and is only a few days delivered). The good service ended with the sale... Following that, the service is a completely different story. I finalized the purchase of $2500 worth of furnishings, including a sofa bed. I was advised the delivery time would be 6-8 weeks for everything. When the delivery team arrived on October 26th, I was expecting all the items, and wasn't told any different. But. The sofa bed and the stretchers for the dining room table weren't delivered. The Brick Rep advised the Sofa Bed and the stretchers will be delivered on Nov 10th. So, I waited at home all morning on the 10th, but the delivery team didn't show up. I called and they said the sofa bed had not arrived at the local store, but didn't receive a call to advise me of this. I continue to wait for the sofa bed, 9 weeks later. If I could give zero stars I would. I'm pretty annoyed with the service here. I ordered a couch on the 21st of may, being advised that it would come to the store by the first week of June and they would call when it arrived. I waited till the end of the first week of June to contact the store. When I called they didn't even have the correct number on my file even though I told the people at customer service multiple times what my number was. I was told that the couch had not arrived yet and they would contact the distribution centre and call me back in a few days. Another week goes by and no call again. I put in a complaint on Facebook and they had someone call back saying they only had half of my couch, but I could pick up that portion... I then had another call from the brick a day later from a different man saying I can no longer pick up that part of the couch as it is not available... this was frustrating and in the end was told my couch was not going to come until the end of July. So basically they extended the waiting time by two months! After I purchased the couch. They then proceeded to call again and tell me the half of the couch was available. Get your communication straight between employees. We went to pick up the couch. The woman there seemed extremely confused and not very informative. If you want something right away and DO NOT have time to wait around for two and a half months to receive what you bought then I wouldn't chance purchasing something from here. They lie to make sale. You should make your customers understand that it could take almost a quarter of a year to receive what they paid for. Also I just got into contact with them today and they are now possibly extending it again into august. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. This location should be shut down. Never! ever! ever! will I give you guys any money ever again. So basically we didn't get it until aug 4th. I can say that I do like the product. Very poor service; I usually don't write these reviews but I couldn't resist wasting a couple more minutes to, hopefully, save other people's time... I visited the Brick in Park Royal to buy a new dining table and found one for 499. Unfortunately, I was too late for a special deal that expired the day before [08/23/2020] - which was 50% off all dining tables if you buy 4 chairs - the salesperson couldn't arrange anything, so I decided to go for the table only and buy some chairs at the IKEA later... Luckily, there was another promo - which was 15% off on furniture $500+ (had to find this information on their website and needed to convince the salesperson it was applicable for 500+ and not 599+) . So I needed a small accessory worth 1$ because they couldn't just add another dollar to make it work... but I'm grateful I found a porcelain cactus for 7$ to make it happen :) After doing the transaction, the salesperson asked me to go to the customer service desk in order to take out the cactus from their inventory - which wasn't possible on her own computer... I was moving and didnt have a move in date yet to send my new furniture. They said it was not a problem and just call them when ready. They said they can hold it up to 3 months. No problem I will need it before then.WELL! I think each week I would get a call asking when can the furniture be delivered. They harassed me till I lost my temper. September 9th, 2015 First of all, this is really a review of the Manager of The Brick Park Royal, Angena Kumar, and my experience with her and her sales lady (I will try to find out her name). I look after a senior citizen building in West Vancouver. One of my tenants, an elderly couple had purchased a 2-seater sofa from The Brick Park Royal in April '15. Unfortunately, right after they got it, the husband had to go to the hospital with severe health issues. Now, jump to September '15, when he finally gets home, he discovers that he needs a single seat "Lazy Boy" instead of the 2 seat sofa he originally got for his office in April. The office is too small for both a couch and a chair. Luckily, nobody had sat on the couch since they got it; however, I told them that normally stores give a 30 day return window and that's it - but they're such a sweet couple, I told them that if they wanted to talk to the Brick manager, it might be worth a shot. We all got to the Brick mid morning on Saturday, Sept 5 '15. It was a little chaotic, since the previous days sales were so large, it crashed their computers. I got my tenants a seat, and then asked the receptionist if I could speak to a manager. The receptionist complied, and I took a seat. Almost right away, the lovely and professional Angena showed up and introduced herself. I did most of the talking, explaining the situation. What impressed me most about Angena was she "listened while not interrupting me" and even more importantly "heard what I was saying" (which historically is rare when dealing with big box store management who are always in a hurry). The elderly couple had taken many photos of the couch showing it's unused condition, and once Angena knew all the details - she agreed that they could return the couch and buy a lazy boy chair - she complied with our request for a bending of the Brick rules. If I can find out the sales ladies name, I would like to give her a huge shout out, for giving the elderly couple four hundred dollars off of the $1600 fully electric lazy boy chair they ended up settling on. And I hope it worked out for the Brick's profit margins too, since they returned a $700 couch and bought a $1200 electric chair. Any way, I get it, the Brick gets slammed and slammed hard, all the time. But MY experience was sublime. As with everything in life, your mileage may vary, lol. Again though, Angena demonstrated every quality that a business would find wonderful. I don't know how much money Angena is making, but she should get a raise ! imho I plan on bringing her some flowers the next time I'm in Park Royal as a small token of my esteem for her, and the excellent business acumen she demonstrated - and her compassion and empathy as well. My mother and I decided to come here to shop for a new fridge. We've been here in the past to buy a few furniture that needed to be replaced and despite a few minor mishaps here and there, things went smoothly. This time, the entire thing went okay, but there was a few things I felt displeased about. While we were looking around, one of the employees that she (my mom) had talked to before found us and started helping us out for a bit. Thing were fine and all, but there was a couple details about the fridge that I thought he should've been able to know right off the bat. It's not really a big deal but still. Anyways, the visit to actually purchase the fridge was fine, but it's the delivery that I disliked. They ended up bringing the fridge through the back door because the front door wasn't big enough for it to fit and it would've been a bit easier to just go through the back anyways. The problem I had with them is that a couple of them still decided to go through the front door several times. The reason thats a problem was that in order to get to the kitchen through the front door, they had to go through sections of the house that had carpet and it was raining the day they came to deliver, so you could only imagine just how much muck they had brought in. They didn't bring in a huge amount of muck, but it still felt like they could've avoided it more often times than not by just simply going through the side of the house in order to access the back door that they came in from, because they needed to go back and forth through the truck a few times before they finished installing the fridge and for some reason they still felt the need to be lazy by stepping through the carpet area and exit through the front door. Me and my mother ended up having to clean the area they had walked on almost an hour after they left. Granted, it's not a huge issue, but it still felt like they could've avoided it. Bottom line, while their service isn't all that bad, but they really need to find a way to get their delivery staffs to figure out a way to deliver items on a rainy day. read more

I have had so many good and bad experienced during my shopping. I had to deal with so many sales persons and I saw different qualities in customer service. I went to Brick in West Vancouver without knowing any body over there and Luckily Hilla became my sells person. Hilla was totally knowledgeable, helpful and caring and I have to say I was totally impressed with her customer service because she was so caring even after my purchases, during the delivery and all the installation. We bought furniture- the sales guy told us we would have to pick up at the distribution centre- he gave us a map and directions- I said no problem- the map and directions were wrong- when I called the warehouse the lady who answered said she takes transit so could not explain how to find the place. it is brand new area so not yet on GPS- when I spoke to someone at the centre who was able to explain to me how to get there she could not explain how or why I was given the map I was- over 2 hours in total spent trying to find the warehouse. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, WORST FURNITURE!! SPARE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME!! This store is expensive and they say that they pride themselves on their great furniture and customer service. I spent $4000 on their furniture and I can't emphasise how much of a waste of money that was. It started by me walking into the store with my partner, being passed around from one agent to another. We finally were able to be assisted by an agent who not only was not educated on the merchandise but also didn't know what promotions were on as I later found out. After we settled on what furniture we wanted the agent took us to a cubical where he preceded to go over the paperwork. After locking himself out of the account several times he kept misinforming us on details that if I didn't ask more questions about we would be taken advantage of even more. After 4 hours, we left thinking everything was settled and taken care off, needless to say, everything went further downhill from here. I called the store a week after buying everything to make sure everything would be delivered on time as we required a smooth transition on our already stressful move. After being based around from again one person to another over the phone and being asked if I speak Persian because the woman could not understand me (I am not racist by any means but I am calling the brick which is a store in Canada, you would think they would hire people with English proficiency) I was told that not everything is at the store ready to be delivered, that we would have to basically sleep on the floor for a couple of days. My partner and I were very upset to also learn that we qualified for a promotion that we were not told about and that the delivery for what they had at the time would not make it on time as the delivery company is booked. You can understand our frustration, that being said, we spoke to the store manager Matt who seems to be a wonderful man doing all the work. He profusely apologise for all that went wrong, he said he would give us a discount and get a private company to deliver at no additional cost, it all sounds wonderful, and so I thought. Everything was delivered and my mom was there to receive the furniture for us as we had to go away at the time of the long-anticipated delivery. Everything still wrapped we come to finally put it together as the private company does not offer that service. Here is a list of all that was wrong with the furniture. 1- Table had scratches and dints 2- chair were unstapled (they blame it on us putting it together) my partner worked for a moving company for 5 years before going to electrical school. 3- the bed frame (fabric base) is snagged We also bought a sofa, a love seat as well as 3 coffee tables which we have nothing negative to say about as they were in an okay condition. To add me and my partner later went to the store in person, being told that the manager Matt would be there in an hour, we stuck around. As we went back to the store we were told that he might not even come in that day and that we were misinformed. To add to our misery, we had to explain everything again to another agent who was promising us the piece of mind. She said she would get someone to our home to assess the furniture, a week later we got a call, to say that not all our concerns would be addressed as the warranty does not cover snagged fabric bed frames. This has caused us unnecessary stress as we thought spending money on quality furniture would give us the piece of mind. We are very unhappy and now we have to keep this awful quality furniture that we spent a lot​ of money on. I urge you to save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The sales woman FERI C was very pushy. So much that last week we left the store all together. This time we returned with the exact product we wanted and unfortunately she was the sales person we got again. She relentlessly kept trying to up sell us and repeated that because she's been there for 17 years she knows what is best for us. There was so much more we wanted to pick up today but didn't because we felt we had to escape from her. I have to go in tomorrow to pick up something else but will avoid her at all costs. The staff are polite, professional and knowledgeable. They have always given me a great deal on my purchases. My most recent was a mattress/boxspring set. Hila, my sales lady, provided me with exceptional knowledge, warm hassle-free service and a ton of patience as I tried out dozens of beds. If you are looking to buy a new mattress, I strongly recommend Hila to help you. This lady knows her mattresses! I know that her and her manager gave me a really awesome deal which included delivery and pick-up/removal of my old mattress/boxspring set. I even ended up buying a pillow and mattress cover in the process and still stayed on budget. I can't tell you how happy I felt when I left the store!
