It is truly amazing. I think that the owner buyer Elaine has such keen eyes for unique, beautiful, whimsical shoes which are very comfortable. I have been at her store with local friends as well as with my out of town women friends from Vancouver, Paris, Seattle, Palm Springs.... Some of them are very picky fashion forward women of all ages. They all loved the store and brought some unique and very comfortable shoes back with them. Young people visit the store naturally, but for us, mature women, the shoes can no longer be please the eyes but need to fit our often misshapen feet from the years of hard work, and be very comfortable. It is quite a feat to satisfy all the requirements. I think that it is great that Elaine seem to understand it all very well. Of all the places, tucked in the corner of our sweet Old Town Square. We had just driven in from a few days in Tofino, and I realized I hadn't really packed anything too appropriate for a conference with my coworkers and colleagues. Oops. Emergency dress shopping time! Sometimes, I am afraid to step foot into adorable boutiques, because I am borderline plus-size and often feel like I'm being judged a la Pretty Woman in this type of shop. This was a refreshing experience! The owner helped me pick out lots of adorable things to try on, most of them fit, and I ended up with two fabulous dresses that are now wardrobe regulars, as well as the most comfortable pair of bamboo leggings I could have ever imagined. I strongly considered going back after the conference to buy them in different colors and lengths. I had to hold myself back from all the gorgeous accessories and jewelery on offer, but it did make me a little sad. This boutique would be right at home in Victoria - the fact that I found it up in unassuming little Parksville with an amazing owner with a flair for stocking fabulous things just puts it right over the top for me.

Consigners beware! I started consigning with Bella by Brianna a couple of years ago. At first,…read moreeverything was fine. But around a year and a half ago it became very difficult to collect the money that I was owed. I would have to call and e-mail several times over weeks and months before I was paid for the clothes they sold. About six months ago I was asked to pick up some clothes of mine that hadn't sold. After picking up the clothes, I noticed that some of the items had been damaged while in the care of Bella by Brianna. Multiple items had their tags ripped off the garments, which also ripped a bunch of the stitching and left holes in the seams. That was the last straw for me. I asked for my remaining unsold items to be returned and for my account to be closed. Brianne returned some items that had been dropped off recently. Including one shoe out of a pair :/ What am I going to do with one shoe!?! Brianne informed me that she would not be returning any of my other items because "anything past a 3 month period becomes property of the store". I signed a contract when I started consigning with her that did in fact state that items that had been at the store longer than 90 days become property of the store. Brianne assured me that was just to protect them in case of theft or other loss of items. I never imagined she would use that clause to justify not returning my items while also not giving me money for them when they sold. I picked up the items she was willing to return to me. While at the store, I saw other items of mine that were on display to be sold. In total, Brianne accepted 92 items of mine for consignment. 25 items sold, which I received ~$160 for. She returned 25 items. SHE REFUSED TO RETURN 42 UNSOLD ITEMS. Do yourself a favour and consign your items at more reputable store.
