So if you don't arrive early you can hang around and wait until someone leaves and then you can arrive in confidence. The selections are traditional Scottish fare and well made. My roast beef was a little tough but tasty nonetheless. My guests had the fish and chips and they really enjoyed their dishes except for the peas. However, the peas only played a supporting role on their plates. The Crofter is very popular and the atmosphere is fun. Come for a pint or a meal. I've been to the oban bay fish & chip shop on a few occasions but usually of peak season where you can only order to take out. It surprising that there are now three chip shops on this street and spaced not far from each other business here must be cutthroat. There is usually a specials board where you can buy a two course meal for £5.95 or in the summer £9.95 but none of the specials where fish as l expected that it would have. You can still buy good fish & chips here some of the other items on the menu l would expect have been bought in pre prepared.

I then asked another manager named Chris to explain why we were being treated this way. He listened patiently and seemed empathetic, but did nothing. My sons were not making noise or doing anything out of the ordinary. After eating, I took my son to the bathroom and left my backpack and their toys on the table because we were returning. An employee decided to throw out their toys and move my backpack to some random table in the middle of the restaurant, filled with people. All of our passports, my wallet, phone, keys, everything was in that bag. Anyone could've taken it. After seeing how we had been treated, another customer actually went over to the manager and really let them know how horrible they were treating us. This man said he had been listening the whole time and trying to hold himself back from intervening, that's how awful the experience was. Thank you Roger and MRS. Roger, you restored my faith in humanity. There are many wonderful restaurants in Fort William, there's no need to eat at such a reprehensable establishment.
