I had lunch with my daughter here today. What a treat! Small restaurant but it lacks nothing. The service was great. Our meals were fantastic. Everything was fresh & cooked to perfection. This is a very comfortable place. No loud music, so we could carry on a conversation easily. We shared a dessert it was more than enough for two. Fresh pineapple fried in a tempura coating laid up on two scoops of wonderful ice cream with a Carmel sauce. If you're looking for a great fresh meal of assorted fresh fish this place can't be beat. The service is spot on. There when you need something otherwise you're left alone. No one hovering over you. There is a small patio if you like to sit outside. Have a bear or a glass of wine with your meal. Adjoining the restaurant is the fish monger. Stop & give this spot a try I'm sure you'll be pleased with your meal & the service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Broken Anchor to anyone looking to have a great meal if assorted types of fish & chips. There's something in the menu to please everyone. We haven't had fish and chips for a very long time but decided to check out The Broken Anchor as they offer a gluten free batter. They're located in the Guisachan Village Centre. We dropped in on a Friday (around 6:15pm). The inside is small with about 5 tables. You order up at the counter and pay first. The menu consists of shares, tacos, bowls, sandwiches, fish & chips and family packs. They also have a very small, limited happy hour (1:00pm to 5:00pm). - Wild pacific cod ($21.55 for 1/2 lb) - the cod was extremely disappointing; completely dry and overcooked. The fries were the same. Soggy, limp and bland. Coleslaw was passable but oddly not cut evenly. - Steamed clams & mussels ($19.00) - came with four pieces of buttered bread. The white wine sauce and garlic was decent but something you could replicate at home. Would have liked a little more clams and mussels for the price point. Was hoping to find a gem but left Broken Anchor disappointed. Try somewhere else for your fish & chip fix. read more

Came here for lunch finally as we had always drove past this place. It did not disappoint! It is a little whole in the wall attached to a seafood market and also has it's own patio. Happy Hour is 1p to 4p so we were able to get some specials. We had 6 cod tacos, seafood stew, clams and mussels, Caesar Salad, fries, and half dozen oysters. Everything tasted really good. The stew was a bit spicy and very flavourful - even my son who doesn't usually like spicy had a lot. My wife said the oysters was the best she's had in Kelowna so far. Tacos were really good - tapas size and very tasty. They had forgotten our salad but managed to make it quickly when we mentioned it. Restaurant has a really laid back atmosphere so things are a bit slow. But food is delish. Glad we came. read more

A heaven for celiacs. I'd ignore the earlier reviews. I ordered from uber eats delivery and I prepared myself that it may come soggy for delivery but oh my was I surprised. The fish was large, crispy and perfectly cooked. The best fried fish ever had! The fries were perfectly hot and crispy as well. A near perfect experience. Things to improve: The uber eats menu does not allow 2 piece or additional fish options. This needs to be updated as I would have loved extra fish.. read more

We had dinner there last night we always order cod and chips, came with 2 very small pieces of fish. Tasty but portions were half the normal size. Curried coleslaw,.....disgusting. A big slab of mayo on the plate looked like it was meant to be decorative but it just was not Very disappointed since its not an inexpensive place, we have been there many times but this was not good and will no longer be recommending this place to my friends read more

We just returned home from the Broken Anchor and I feel that I must offer a review of my experience. As C-Lovers recently closed their fish and chips restaurant we had to select a "fill-in" to satisfy our, 4 of us, needs. Well, the service was fine, in spite of only one, somewhat, overworked waitress. The cod looked excellent as it was served to adjacent tables. However, when we received our order, we unfortunately were missing utensils, so, I simply used my fingers for the initial taste. It became immediately evident that the batter was extremely oily as my hand was covered with it. That is my primary judgement factor when comparing fish and chip quality. This failed the test. I do enjoy coleslaw with my meal, but, this contained curry..none of us liked it. It also failed the test. For those reasons, I will not return. read more

First time here. Ordered the family size 6 piece cod and Chips. Would return for the homemade chips but not the Cod. Cod was watery, not firm at all, with no taste, indicating frozen. Was advised cod is hard to get local in September so they need to get from eastern Canada so it comes in frozen. We noticed the regulars were ordering everything but the cod. The curry coleslaw is excellent. The homemade tartar sauce is excellent. Service is great. Just don't order the cod. read more

I use to love this place from the day opened, Haven't been there in a little over a year and just had a dinner with my wife today. Saying that it was the most disgusting fish and ships I ever had. Fish is not the same as before and fries was soft and tasteless. It's to bad as it was one of our favourite places to eat. read more
