Our friends recommended this place for breakfast/lunch. We went during a good time as it wasn't too busy and we got seated pretty quickly! But there is a wait list you can join as it does get quite busy quickly. The atmosphere was nice, servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered the chicken and waffle (with additional $2.50 boneless white meat) and the Cali Poutine. Unfortunately for us the chicken and waffle was a let down as it was pretty dry... but could be the batch for the day. But I have to say I love the Cali Poutine, the fresh arugula with the duck fat potatoes really works! The poached egg was done perfectly. We always come here on weekdays and never have to wait because they operate on a waitlist, which is a dead sexy way of doing things I wish more breakfast places would adopt. You phone (587) 317-5743, and they tell you how long the wait will be. Then, when there is a 15-minute window before your table is ready, they text you, and you come to the joint. The duck fat hashbrowns are a big draw and there are big fans of the egg bennies in our pack. The mini waffles are delectable and there are coloring pages for kiddies. Decided to stop to get brunch near the airport before our flight back home. For 2 of us, there was either spots at the bar immediately or a 20-30 min wait for an actual table. As we were on a time crunch, we opted for the bar seating but where they sat us was a little strange - it's like an added extension of the bar right but separated from the actual bar, adjacent to the hostess stand, and next to a bunch of kitchenware and what looked like staff's drink containers/bottles as if they just wanted to make use of as much space as possible. Snickerdoodle chai latte was not too overly sweet but the chai did overpower the snickerdoodle. My brother loved his Nutella hot chocolate. I opted for the hangry bowl with duck fat hash, chorizo, ham, bacon, soft poached eggs, salsa, & chipotle hollandaise. Boy was this heaaaavy - I was full for the rest of the day. The salsa and hollandaise really paired well with the saltiness of the rest of the bowl, made it so that you don't grow tired of it quickly. Bacon was a little bit on the chewier side and I wish the potatoes were a little more crispy but overall it was a delicious dish. My brother got the loco moco breakfast with jasmine rice, beef patty, onions, brown gravy, & sunny side up eggs which was done just right. Our drinks got plugged in wrong so we did have to wait a while for the third mimosa. However, our server was apologetic about it and they weren't overly sweet which we enjoyed. I wished that I have read those negative reviews about servers rushing people out from their tables before people can't even finished their food. Didn't get much attention or being asked about how the food was, but we were given full attention after 40 minutes. The servers were exceptionally rude for literally trying to take our unfinished plate out of our hands, and asking us repeatedly if we had finished our food, or if we needed as box to go. When I raised my concern, the server bluntly told us that they had a "seating time limit" and needed the table asap. I wish they had informed us beforehand that there was only a 60-minute time limit for a party of three. Regarding the food. The adobo was too salty and disappointing. The fried eggs were okay though. Landed on a Thursday morning after a flight from YYZ and wanted to kick off our Banff trip with a good brunch so we headed over to The Bro'Kin Yolk. We had called from the airport to see about a waitlist and were told it would be maybe 20 min. wait which was perfect since it took us about that long to drive over there. We decided on the Bacon Benny ($18.99), Seoul-Wich ($18.99) and the Hold the Carb ($16.99), and a round of coffees! Service was very friendly and our orders came pretty quickly. Went to this treat Sunday morning. We tried to go Saturday but didn't get on the "wait-list" and was told it would be over an hour to get a table. Works better if you call an hour before you want to go and be "added to the waitlist" then they text you when your next (15min). large parking lot so no trouble there. I added the chicken apple sausage for some protein. They were very good - not fatty and had great flavor. Much better than your non name brand breakfast sausage. The Truffle, Ham, Wild Mushroom poutine great. Good flavor, good portions, the duck fat hash was excellent, not greasy with a hint of extra flavor each bite. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Next time ill opt for 1/2 spinach instead of full hash. The Farmers Breakfast was Huge. Definitely enough for 2 people. Large slices of fresh bread with your choice of jam/jelly/peanut butter. Eggs were soft and fresh, bacon was better than expected and not just thin and fatty. 3 single person bathrooms but very very small as when you open the door you have to sneak by the sink and toilet to shut the door. Everytime I eat here I leave happy. Not only is the food outstanding, my favourite is the truffle, ham and mushroom poutine, but the service is top notch. Been coming here for years. Always liked the food but it's been going down hill gradually for years. Today was one that will make me never return. From the time we sat down to the time we were asked to leave was less than 35 minutes. Felt rushed all the while we were eating. Didn't refill coffees until asked. Kept badgering us to clear off the table. Once they did, they immediately came with the machine to pay. Once paid, we wanted another cup of coffee and was actually denied coffee and asked to vacate our seats! 35 minutes!! Brutal service! The need to put as many people through this restaurant trumps your dining experience...noted. Will take my business elsewhere. Letting my wallet do the talking. When I'm Calgary you MUST come here. Honestly it's been one of the best breakfast restaurants that I've ever been too. The service was great and I would recommend to go early so you beat the crowd. They don't take reservations, but you can go and put your name down in line. We sat by the bar since it would be faster to get a table. I had the bacon egg Benedicts and they were fabulous. They are over a fresh waffle and the combination is like an explosion of amazingness in your mouth. My boyfriend had the the truffle mushroom and ham hash and that was fantastic as well. I have come here often since they opened in Symon's Valley. Wait times used to be really long but the have this service they can text you when you are 15 mins out. And you are able to put your name on the list without being present. No more waiting at the front door. Yay! We usually order the green smoothie, coffee, tea, and modified bennies. Came here for a late brunch on Saturday long weekend. We waited 15 minutes for a table. We were seated at a large table but they asked us if we could move to a smaller table, it wasn't a big deal but they gave us waffles for the inconvenience. Yum can't say no to waffles. I ordered the a salmon eggs Benedict it was so good. The egg was perfectly poached on a fluffy waffle. The hash was amazing very addictive. If your a coffee lover can go wrong with the americano. Then when we were drinking coffee and waiting for the late person to arrive, they were pushing us to order her food even though she wasn't there. Not all the tables were full. One of the owners, Gil, explained their namesake: "Bro" for brothers with family (hence the "kin") and their breakfast specialties, eggs Benedict ("yolk"). not bad id go back but i would simply just get anything that doesn't have waffles, they were honestly the worst bit. potatoes, not bad, meat was excellent. Waffles were basically generic hotel waffles and they let them just sit there so they basically come to you rock hard and fucking disgusting. All i do is go to hotels for work and so I've had a hell of a lot of waffles from those machines, these are VERY similar, if not identical in the mixture. It wouldn't be as bad if they went right out of the machine to the plate while still warm but they leave them sitting out in the open!!! Also a benny should never be served on a waffle the hollandaise just seeps through to the cracks and sits in the bottom in the squares. so yeah... id for sure go again but never again waffles, they need to loose them or at least not make them like a hampton by hilton...... i see what they are trying to do but it doesn't work. read more

My fiancé and I love coming here, my fiancé is gluten free and they always make his food completely separate from everything else. The food is GREAT, and it is affordable. The only thing, is it's pretty crowded in there. The tables are fairly close together. At least where we were sitting. read more

I just don't get the huge rave about this place. Its just okay. The food quality has gotten better, but its still overpriced for the quality. My favorite thing to be honest is the beet and arugula salad, but the portion is so small! I get alot of people like it because of the locations, theyre in places outside of city center/DT so it makes it convenient for some, but I just think there are much better brunch places in YYC. I am happy though that a local restaurant is doing so well and they now have three locations. Obviously theyre still doing well because theyre so busy, but I think they could make their portions bigger/ give more variety (ex. when you order the chicken and waffle - maybe they could give you a side of potatoes or fruit). read more
