My absolute must when back in YYC! I've been here a handful of times now and we love having family/friends join us. For the life of me, I just CANNOT break away from my usual order (Bros breakfast). I love it with extra salsa and avocado. Their pork belly adobo is made so well and it has such a nostalgic place in my heart. I make adobo at home, but always with chicken and pork....this may finally inspire me to do it with pork belly. Everyone we've brought to try this place with us has absolutely enjoyed it. Flew into Calgary last night and looked for a good place to have breakfast. This farm to table place came up on our search and we decided to give it a try. And SO glad we did!! The staff were just the sweetest and most helpful people. The food was amazing - sunrise breakfast, vegan hash, and apple cinnamon waffles. Filling and so flavorful. And a special shout out to the lavender latte!! We came on a Saturday morning and this place was buzzing! I recommend calling ahead and booking a table but even without that they were great at getting us a table. The restaurant isn't large but it's well laid out for the best service and there's a large outdoor patio for the sunny days of summer. The eggs Benedict and poutine were all delicious; the waffles are great, with the different options of sauces - the lavender white chocolate is definitely unique, but my favorite is the salted caramel. So very good brunch food here! A lot of cooking in duck fat, and some cool options. They have a Filipino inspired dish as well! I had the truffle, ham and mushroom breakfast poutine and really enjoyed it. I wish there was a bit more truffle flavour and the cheese curds were better distributed, but that's all very minor. One of my fav breakfast restaurants in SE Calgary and can't go wrong. The decor is clean and modern with an updated cabin feel. Staff are super friendly and what can I say their breakfast is delicious. Breakfast poutine house cured bacon is just straight up top notch. Short rib hash and Chicken & Waffles are also must try. They also serve Phil & Sebastian coffee (local too). Overall can't go wrong here but be patient as you may need to wait to get seat if your not an early raiser. read more

This place is absolutely delicious and always busy! I wanted to try here last month so I showed and they said it was going to be a 1.5 hour wait. I wasn't waiting that long so I went somewhere else for breakfast. They gave me a tip that next time I wanted to go there to call ahead and be out on the waitlist. This morning I wanted to go back so at 8:30am I called and good thing I did because it was going to be an hour and fifteen minute wait this time so they said to arrive between 9:45am and 10:00am and then I got right in despite their being many people waiting at the door. I like their hours being only 7:00am - 3:00pm and I like that their menu is small and only breakfast/ brunch food items. Today I got the avacado open faced sandwich with about half an avacado on it and it was awesome! Highly recommend this place and all in advance to get on the waitlist. read more

On a whim we visited this place, Monday morning and it was packed! Good sign My wife ordered the frittatas and she said they very good. I ordered the lemon berry french toast, and we'll not so good. It was under cooked, bland, come on put some cinnamon on it or something. No lemon taste what so ever. I told the manager about the dish lacking flavour, and she said the lemon was in the cream cheese? I had no cream cheese on the dish so they must have forgotten it. She was very nice and took the item off the bill. Service was excellent , not over bearing. But if you come to visit with anyone at the table, bring your outdoor voice! It's very loud and cramped. Difficult to have a conversation with anyone. I may return someday, but won't be rushing back. It's okay, but not awesome. read more

I came here with a girl friend for brunch on Saturday around noon. The wait for a table was quite long (2hrs) so we opted for the bar (20mins). We ordered waffles with lavender chocolate sauce to share. The lavender chocolate sauce was DELICIOUS! The hint of lavender sets it apart and above any other sauces I've ever had. I ordered the Oscar Benny and my friend ordered the Chicken and Waffles. The Oscar Benny dish tasted just fine. My eggs were cooked to soft boiled which was perfect but tasted a little bit too sour because of the vinegar water. However, the waffles were crispy, ham and mushrooms were seasoned nicely. The hollandaise sauce neutralizes the vinegar in the eggs but left me hoping for a kick of flavours. I had a bite of my friend's chicken and it tasted crispy and moist. It was definitely more flavourful and more balanced then my Oscar Benny. My friend recommends having the sauces separate from the chicken and waffles as the chicken was simply amazing as is. Love this place! I was a little hesitant because most of my favorite brunch spots are inner city joints, but this place definitely exceeded my expectations! My family boasts about this place's bacon, and man, does it live up to the hype! Their new waitlist system is super convenient (you can just wait in your car and they'll text you when your table is ready), and they've got pretty much all the covid precautions you could hope for in a restaurant (masks, sanitizers, spaced seating, plexiglass separators between tables, etc.)! Aside from the bacon (which, again, was to die for), they made the best poached eggs I've had in my life (seriously, no understatement!) They also make an insanely good pumkpin/spiced chai latte, and the staff were all very helpful and cheery, even as they neared closing time! I've heard this place can get pretty busy, so I would recommend checking out the waitlist before committing to the drive, but overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a bright, friendly brunch spot with delicious food! read more

I has a delicious breakfast at this restaurant. Bro'Kin Yolk has an open kitchen and since I was alone, I opted to sit at the counter instead of a table or the outside patio area. I was given plenty of time to look over the menu and I ordered the short rib hash. When my order came, i could not see the hash - it was covered by the two eggs on top. The hash was large chunks of potato, red onion, yellow pepper, and I though some sweet potato chunks also. Usually when I have potato chunks, they are dry and frankly a wast of space on the plate. But I took one bite and I knew this was different. The flavor was fantastic due to the duck fat that it is cooked in. Staff members in addition to the wait staff asked me many times during the meal if everything was okay. I think my empty plate was a hint that I was satisfied. But the downside was the short rib meat itself. Although plentiful, and shredded nicely, it had very little taste. read more

I came here for lunch last week and I have to say it was pretty darn tasty. I had the SHORT RIB HASH. It consists of, BED OF DUCK FAT HASH, SLOW-COOKED SHORT RIB, BELL PEPPERS AND ONIONS, TOPPED WITH 2 SUNNY-SIDE UP FARMED FRESH EGGS. The service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away. I have tried to come a couple of times before, but decided against it because I didn't feel like lining up. Here's how it works: Call the Creekside location at (587) 317-5743 or the Mahogany location at (403) 457-5955 and see what the waitlist is like. (Do not text this number) Does our *estimated quote time fit what you had in mind? If it does, we'll take your name, number and amount of party (including infants and small children)! Once you've been added to the waitlist, you will get a text confirmation and a link to check your place in line. Go back to bed, do your errands, or get yourself ready and wait for our second text to notify you that your table is almost ready. Text "1" back to confirm or "2" to cancel. What a magical breakfast nook this place is! I ordered the eggs benny with ham and wow it was delicious! The coffee is also served hot and fresh and dropped to perfection like coffee should be. We really enjoyed our breakfast experience today. We called ahead to go on the waitlist. It was early around 8:45am and so it was easy to get seated quickly at that time. The staff were so friendly at the front door and made us feel very welcome immediately. Our server was Hannah and she was terrific. Hannah knew all about the menu items and the story of their house blend coffee. We really enjoyed the bottomless Bro'kin Blend Coffee created with Fratello locally. The coffee was rich and flavourful and they keep your coffee cup filled up. We also had their delicious Orange Juice. It's freshly squeezed in house every morning and served in a huge mason jar. You have probably heard of "Happy Hour", well Brok'in Yolk has "Grumpy Hours" first thing in the morning. If you are "Grumpy" and need a beverage with some spirit, then you can get a Mimosa, Breakfast Caesar, Coffee & Bailey or a Spiked Citrus Honey Refresher from the Bar! You won't be grumpy after one of those beverages. You won't be drinking on an empty stomach either. The portions are large and your tummy will be full. The service was quick and they were very accommodating to any changes we wanted to the menu items. My husband had the Farmers Breakfast and I had the Bacon Benny. The eggs are locally sourced Free Range, Omega 3 and Organic. You can tell right away by the colour of the yolks. The Duck Fat Hash browns are very tasty. My benny was on a house made Belgian Waffle that was perfectly made with a delicious sweetness to it. The House Cured Bacon is candied with a hint of Filipino flavour. The menu has many Filipino flavours and not the same old same old you get everywhere. The menu is set out that you can add on lots of sides to try out something extra. The restaurant is bright, fresh, clean and busy. There is plenty of parking. Overall we were very impressed and we will definitely be back again. read more

Good selection of options although be sure you aren't looking for a low calorie meal. Everything appears to be cooked in duck fat or served with potatoes and or waffles. Tasty ? Yes !!! We opted to sit at the bar which was interesting as I watched a girl plop egg after egg into pots of boiled water which resulted in boiled egg perfection every time! Magnificent! So digging this place until we saw the two other chefs nibbling in the potatoes that they took out of the fryer and into a large bowl to season for the guests' orders. Wait?!!! What?! Yes please touch raw meat and then enter your hand into a bowl of cooked potatoes and place pieces into your mouth and then continue to serve others out of the same bowl. Not once, not twice but the entire time we were there. Maybe this happens at other places but at least I don't see it front and center while I'm dining! Ugh. A bit disappointing. :( read more
