I've been going to the Brookland smoke shop for almost 2 years now. They recently showed they are all about the dollar when a long standing customer such as myself was turned away after asking to replace two products I purchased less than 24 hours ago. I asked to return the products due to a allergic reaction that occurred and to replace the products with something else. The owner (Miss Q) decided her no return policy/currency gained was more important than the customers health and well being. This shows the true intent / nature of the people who run this business. This shop is a poor representation of what community looks like; something they like to preach but clearly don't stand on. I hope this review helps the next person looking to find a credible smoke shop, and one in particular that looks out for its clients. read more

This spot looked promising. I walked in and there was a younger gentleman there to greet me and answer questions. I asked if the place was new and he said yes. Asked about what was offered and he kept stressing CBD products were sold there. DUH... I got a weird vibe from him like he thought I was there to rob him or something. I was dressed like a bum in sweats bc it's my day off and look young without real clothes and makeup on but I had an ID if he would have asked for it. Anyway, yeah... I asked again what products were offered and he said flowers, oils, vapes, etc. I said cool... where are they? He directed me over to the display and I bent down to look at them. He then asked are you familiar with these products. I was like yeah... I just don't know about the oils so much but I've been reading up on the health benefits and want to learn more. Dude kept standing over me and was like if you need help or an explanation of anything let me know. I said ok thanks, hoping he would give me my space but he just kept standing over me. I pulled out my phone to text my friend and he still kept staring down at me and at my screen. He seemed like he was suspicious of me which in turn made me feel suspicious of him. So I know that DC head shop owners are on edge right now bc Initiative 71's grey areas have ppl getting hemmed up, but I felt like I was being put under a telescope. Let your customers breathe and don't profile or whatever he was doing. He made me uncomfortable so I left. I had good money to spend too and this place is minutes from my house. Oh well. Stay far away, hustlers for sure. I liked this shop, we needed some new equipment and stopped by, my girl was making the purchase so I wasn't paying attention. Customer service was great, but that was the compensation for paying over double the retail price for their products. I called them to explain my case, the woman on the phone barely listened to what I had to say, she just kept repeating "all sales are final". They don't care about the people or vibe they create, solely based on dollars and cents. Save your time time and go to a NON-CAPITALIST shop that is meant for the people. Nice place and close-ish to the metro. They have lots of smoke accessories but they only carry CBD products. No THC products.
