I'm not here to hangout, I think I can speak for everyone when I say I'm here to pick up my stuff and leave. Just like when you go to the liquor store, I want to pick it up and go home. It's a "designer" dispo, that makes the lobby feel exclusive, so you don't mind waiting 40 min. There are legit 40 people on a shift not doing shit, fr counted about 24 people in the back. When you finally get back to make a purchase you have to look off an iPad, barely anything is displayed. THEN they can't even turn around to grab the product, they have to message someone upstairs to bring it down. The person upstairs packages the products very nicely, just for the sales person to unwrap it, show it to you, and then take 5 min to try and wrap it nicely again. This sales model is so dumb. I have also order ahead online, sat in the car for 37 min. Why would you come outside without the product and card reader. You tell them what spot your in from the link to your order, so why would you come out to the car empty handed ask who I am and take another 10 min to come out with the product and card reader. But mind blowingly people love this place. I say go to an uglier dispo, get in and get out.

I wanted to patronize this place because it's in my neighborhood and the only black owned dispensary in DC, but after comparing to others in the city since their abrupt closing, the value just isn't there in both selection and pricing. I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience at JOVA dispensary, especially as a long-time, loyal customer. Being informed that I was BANNED during Black History Month made the situation feel even more disheartening and poorly handled, it felt high-key discriminatory. The receptionist left the desk for over ten minutes while I stood there, not knowing what was going on and other customers were allowed to proceed ahead of me. Maybe this was there way of trying to embarrass me, I don't know. But being a Black Card member who visits weekly -- sometimes twice a week. I am always respectful to everyone , and I TIP! Over the years, I intentionally bypassed numerous dispensaries because the customer service here used to be outstanding. While there are still some great employees, the overall experience has unfortunately declined. In this most recent situation, an employee "Jenna" made a claim that as I was walking out the door and I called her a name??? Absolutely not true - the employee that day , her tone, lack of engagement, and visible impatience reflected a lack of professionalism. Customer service is not just about completing transactions -- it is about respect, communication, and consistency, which was subtracted from the experience that day.  During this most recent visit, I felt dismissed by management Shawn and Weldon. I was confused by the enforcement of this alleged ban. I visited the store the week prior without issue. If I was truly banned, why was I allowed to return? Why did security not intervene at that time? The inconsistency raises serious concerns about how this matter was handled. Were there any witnesses when i allegedly cussed and fussed while exiting? Is there camera footage available to review? Why did I not receive a documented phone call? Why was no formal email communication sent? Additionally, I was told that management called me multiple times and left voicemails. I have no record of missed calls or voicemails regarding this matter. That discrepancy only adds to my concern about transparency. When management lacks consistency and accountability, it trickles down into the overall customer experience. Unfortunately, that seems to be what's happening here. At this point, this experience feels like a clear sign that it's time to explore other dispensaries or just save my money, period! Loyalty should be valued, not questioned without due process. I genuinely supported this business for years, but situations like this make it difficult to continue doing so with confidence.
