The marketing team consistently treated me extremely rude by disengaging from the product, they left me out of any information on the event that we were planning together, basically found a way to cut me completely out of the event and product placement. Their marketing director, Brianna she is an absolute NIGHTMARE to work with, gaslighting me the entire time and being over bearing, PETTY AND narcissistic on everything their retail manger Chris tried to do to support the sale and product placement. Hands down one of the worst marketing departments I've ever dealt with in 25 years that I've been in business in marketing. Her personal ego is more important than servicing the vendors and actually marketing the products they sell. I should have known something was up by the high turnover rate of employees because that is a big sign that a company does not have high morale. As a small business, they did not pay for the product after three weeks of waiting for the invoice to be paid and I think that's probably the most discouraging part of the process. I don't feel like they respected my business enough to pay for the product in a timely manner, and I also believe that this was partly due to Brianna's treatment of my brand in particular. Ultimately, they went in my mind on the surface from being one of the best to one of the worst dispensaries I've ever had to encounter in the time I've been in business with them. She (Brianna) even went so far today to write me an email telling me she took my product off the shelf. That's she will be holding onto it until they decide to pay for it and place it and in that moment I knew I needed to go get it and there was no way in hell I would ever allow my brand to be associated with that type of behavior.

Over the last few weeks of operation, the selection was limited at best. Service was always hit or miss and it felt like there were new people every time I came into the shop. I wanted to patronize this place because it's in my neighborhood and the only black owned dispensary in DC, but after comparing to others in the city since their abrupt closing, the value just isn't there in both selection and pricing. If they ever open back up, I'd only utilize them for convenience as needed at this point.

I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience at JOVA dispensary, especially as a long-time, loyal customer. Being informed that I was BANNED during Black History Month made the situation feel even more disheartening and poorly handled, it felt high-key discriminatory. The receptionist left the desk for over ten minutes while I stood there, not knowing what was going on and other customers were allowed to proceed ahead of me. Maybe this was there way of trying to embarrass me, I don't know. But being a Black Card member who visits weekly -- sometimes twice a week. I am always respectful to everyone , and I TIP! Over the years, I intentionally bypassed numerous dispensaries because the customer service here used to be outstanding. While there are still some great employees, the overall experience has unfortunately declined. In this most recent situation, an employee "Jenna" made a claim that as I was walking out the door and I called her a name??? Absolutely not true - the employee that day , her tone, lack of engagement, and visible impatience reflected a lack of professionalism. Customer service is not just about completing transactions -- it is about respect, communication, and consistency, which was subtracted from the experience that day.  During this most recent visit, I felt dismissed by management Shawn and Weldon. I was confused by the enforcement of this alleged ban. I visited the store the week prior without issue. If I was truly banned, why was I allowed to return? Why did security not intervene at that time? The inconsistency raises serious concerns about how this matter was handled. Were there any witnesses when i allegedly cussed and fussed while exiting? Is there camera footage available to review? Why did I not receive a documented phone call? Why was no formal email communication sent? Additionally, I was told that management called me multiple times and left voicemails. I have no record of missed calls or voicemails regarding this matter. That discrepancy only adds to my concern about transparency. When management lacks consistency and accountability, it trickles down into the overall customer experience. Unfortunately, that seems to be what's happening here. At this point, this experience feels like a clear sign that it's time to explore other dispensaries or just save my money, period! Loyalty should be valued, not questioned without due process. I genuinely supported this business for years, but situations like this make it difficult to continue doing so with confidence.
