A read several good reviews so I stopped in. I expected to find knowledgeable jewelers that had an idea of value. This was not the case. I had some gold and silver necklaces, rings, bracelets to sell. Here are some things you should know: 1. All metals are tested for silver, 10K, 14K, 18K (as I would expect). They will scratch test your items without even asking so be ready for that. 2. If you are selling items with gem stones in them they will ignore the stones and simply weigh & pay based on the gold/silver value. 3. On a rare occasion if you have a finer piece (diamond solitaire or decent sized sapphire, for example) or a designer piece (like Levian or Tiffany) they will first weigh it to find the metal value and then pull a random number (like $50 or $100) out of the air that they will pay on top of the metal value. All in all, if you have broken pieces that you don't want to repair - this may be an option. If your pieces are intact, you will get more money if you sell online or Facebook marketplace. I was offered $40 for about 12 silver pieces (rings & necklaces). Even tho the rings included opals, sapphires, over 2 carats of topaz, etc. I was offered $300 for two like new designer Levian Rings that cost over $4,000. They each had diamonds and 14K gold among other gemstones. I was offer $320 for a $4,000 Tanzanite ring. In total, if I sold everything (many thousands of dollars in pieces) I could be paid $800. I'll add a photo to show that I was not selling banged up, crap items either. The gentlemen I worked with was pretty arrogant and told me to go try other places and I'd be back. They may offer the best price for a quick sale, I don't know. Certainly not the best avenue for selling and getting what you should. If you want fast cash, you can get it here. Went to Chantilly store and confirmed unopened box of silver coins as pristine, and checked value. The price for silver was low --21.00 -- so I decided to wait until it rose. Two weeks later I called to confirm price over phone -- 22.60 -- then drove 30 min to store, where the very same guy then changed his quote to 22, while also mentioning the coins were now in 'pretty decent' condition, when they were pristine/unopened 2 weeks earlier. He verbally noted that they were opened, but did not remember that he was the one who opened them 2 weeks earlier. The 5-star ratings and all the good reviews The Bullion Bank has received are well deserved. I would give more stars if they were available. I went in with a variety of silver items, a few gold coins, and a medallion collection. I had never tried to sell these types of items before. Spent some time with Ardavan Badii and was pleased with the amount I received, felt he was very fair. The silver medallions were from a collection dated 1970 and 1971. I had viewed the issuer's website and thought the current value (price if purchased directly from the issuer) was an amount displayed in a chart on their website. I mentioned this to Ardavan, he was not familiar with these items and said he does not work with collectors, so he spent quite a bit of time researching on his computer while I was there, checking the original issuer's website and perhaps others. He reached the same conclusion as I did on the current value. I was given a very fair payment based on that price. It was not until the next morning I realized the value we had viewed online was the price the issuer charged when the items were first released in 1970 and 1971. I sent an email to Ardavan and then called later that day. He had not yet seen my email but pulled it up while I was on the phone. He said he understood what I was saying. He again went to the issuer's website, agreed with my conclusion, determined the current value of the items, and offered to mail a check for the additional amount which I received two days later. Not all brokers would be as honest as Ardavan. Some would have said once I accepted a check the deal was closed. But that is not The Bullion Bank's attitude. They truly want to give their customers a fair deal. As this particular case demonstrated, it is always recommended that you do your own research as best you can to determine the value of items you own. Even brokers as honest as Ardavan cannot be familiar with everything. But you can count on The Bullion Bank to be honest and as fair as possible. Another plus is they are local so I didn't have worry about shipping heavy items to someone in another State or having the added cost of insurance. This resulted in more money in my pocket. If I have other items like this to sell in the future, they will be my first choice. I highly recommend The Bullion Bank. read more

Bought a good looking $5 Indian Half Eagle...my first. Looked like it had some wear, got a fair price, passed the Sigma tester... sold! Got home, started to 'grade' the coin...found it was missing key details... Eagle had no nostril, Liberty's Eye looked weird, B.L.P. was missing the '.' after the B and L, Vertical stem for the letter "E" in WE was 1 line wide instead of 2, yep... was real gold, but counterfeit! Brought the coin back ready to argue and get really really mad and huff and puff... but they were super chill, understanding, remembered the sale and fully refunded my purchase. What? My jaw dropped... No arguments. After all, they're a bullion store, not numismatists. They'd still bought and sold me real gold. No harm, no foul, and I ended up trading them some bullion silver, getting a Gold Philharmonic and a bunch of silver as in addition. I've purchased a few hundred silver & a few gold coins, sold them scrap sterling, even a pair of gold teeth I got at an estate sale (creepy but profitable and cool)!... would highly recommend for these kinds of bullion exchanges, sales, & purchases.
