We are upstairs in Busboy!!! Finally!!! Ive been wanting to try for SO long!!!

Could use some more gluten free choices! I've been trying to get in the bus forever! Usually see it AFTER I've eaten! But this time we were looking with a friend from out of town and it was perfect!!! As for the food. It was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's more an experience than a culinary delight. If they come up with something similar to one of their food truck brothers, something like the baked sweet potatoe, that might seal the deal. It WAS fun to eat on the upper deck of the bus!

Dinner on a Double Decker Bus, a short book by KS. The only way it could have been better is if it was the Double Dutch Bus..... The Bus Boy Mobile Kitchen is a trip, on ALL the senses. A culinary journey in the upstairs restaurant seating or a food truck experience downstairs with a different menu. Spoke with the chef (16 years culinary) and the owner (30 years food service). All good things start with a great story, this might very well be one of those. The Food Truck/Double Decker Bus started as a typical DD in England. English guy imports them to Southern California. They work for a while for racetracks, then get sold for tourbuses, BM truggies or in this case a killer concept. The sit down restaurant is the upstairs and has a different menu than the food truck fare. Both not only looked great, but tasted great as well. Interior like nothing I have ever seen with changing color backlit tabletops. They use local beef from Bentley Ranch, Dessert combos from LA Bakery, Ice Cycle Creamery, and some place in Carson they get the fritters from. Something with the regs so plastic (looks and cuts like the real thing) knives and forks, everything can be recycled and they encourage it. Food arrives upstairs through a dumbwaiter system with much fanfare. So bucket list items... double decker bus, check. High end dinner on a bus, check. Also my first Beef Wellington, on a bus! Consider it a destination dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food, the staff and the concept. There are so many well thought out ideas on this thing it takes a while to discover them all. They plan on staying in Carson most of the time, but might be out in our neck of the woods for a couple events, as the owner explained a windy day can end up being a night away from home. The bridges and Washoe Valley can be a hard path. You need to check this out. Stat.

Had them come to our work today since we had to cancel the company picnic due to COVID19 and it worked out great. The food was tasty and all the Associates I talked to were very pleased. We ordered in advance to help make the lunchtime go smoother and reduce the wait time for Associates. I had the salad and was super happy - all fresh ingredients with quality lettuce and a yummy variety of tomatoes, berries and blue cheese. The steak on top was tasty and the ranch dressing was so good with lots of herbs and flavor.

March 17, 2019 Sunday -5 PM for dinner 2 Adults and a teenager Atmosphere - NA stars Food - 3 stars Service - 4 stars Background - We have been wanting to go to this food truck since we learned about it before it even opened. My wife actually follows the truck on Facebook. I follow Shoe Tree where the truck is at on this day, and where I found out about their visit. Atmosphere - I am not rating this, as it is just a food truck, okay not just a food truck, a beautiful modern British double decker with a trailer. We ordered from the outside window. There is also an option to eat upstairs on the second deck. Food Dinner - I was listening to the person in front of me. They talked me into the lamb sliders. They probably used King's Hawaiian buns, fine. Duck fat ground lamb just screamed to me and I wanted chow down on them. The sliders were finished off with quick pickled red onions and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki sauce over powered everything, which was a major disappointment. My daughter's dinner - She had the chicken tenders. I finished off what she did not eat. $15 paid for three tenders and fries. The one tender I ate the breading was over cooked. I know they use gluten free flour but that should not have impacted the overall cooking of the chicken. Service - Alright. We placed our order at the window outside of the bus. When you buy over $40 worth of food, and with today's cash free society. I paid with a credit card. Well that was an issue for them. I had to go into the bus to finish the transaction. The first floor of the bus was designed for placing orders this way, and I surprised they did not use this method the whole time. Ordering was easy, and they actually brought our food out to us while sitting outside of Shoe Tree. Future -Uncertain, maybe after they have some more time under their belts.

Bus Boy is one of my favorite food trucks! The double decker bus was fun during our first visit but it has been out of commission for repairs. Currently, Bus Boy is cooking out of the Calvary Chapel on Tuesday through Saturday. Lucky me - I work 4 minutes away! Pick-up orders are available between 11:00AM-2:45PM and 4:00PM-7:45PM. Order online. My household has ordered all sliders (beef, salmon, and lamb), chicken tenders (huge!) and sweet potato fries. All yummy! But my favorite? The garlic parmesan fries! Just look at the picture! Super fresh every time. My co-worker also loves the lemon cheesecake. She says it has actual lemon pieces and is the best she's tried! The food may appear pricey, but it's fresh and delicious every time. Never a bad experience. Always fast and friendly service. Food is cooked to perfection! Worth the price! We can't wait for the bus to be up and running again!

For starters, my family and I enjoyed the double decker bus atmosphere which is soooooooo unique! As for the food, they have the best wild salmon salad! What I find unique is that it was wild not farmed fish. In addition they have gluten free battered fish and chips and also gf battered chicken. They are both very tasty! I highly recommend this food bus if they are in your area. Looking forward to eating there again.

The Bus Boy is my favorite food truck in Carson. Everything is delicious and there ranch is to die for!

Salmon slider, garlic fries and a white dill sauce. Very tasty and hot!

Great dining experience from the 2nd story. Most food trucks you will freeze (winter now) outside but it was warm in the upstairs dinning. Service was fast and the food was excellent. We had a salmon slider with garlic fries and fish and chips. We will be back and maybe consider hiring for a corporate event for our staff and customers. If we do I will post how that went as well.

The food was out of this world, the upstairs dining section was super fun and the staff were beyond amazing! One of the best meals I've had this year but I guess the saying saving the best for last is true!!! Plus my kids really loved the light up tables and the dumb waiter!!!

My wife insisted we get the best sellers, so we got all 3! Lumpia - Generous portions. Made fresh. The sauces compliment it well. I don't think it was your typical sweet and spicy sauce, it must have an extra spice or two in it...? Well, my wife took most of the sauce, so I did not get to re-sample it, lol. Made fresh after we ordered, so be careful as it was piping HOT. Rendang - SO spicy!! I loved it. But not when I am traveling, lol. Sampled and took the rest home to finish. As light eaters, we typically over order... Mie Goreng - Their version of chow mein. Again, so good. Everything was made to order, so fresh. They also gave us two sauces, see picture. But we did not need it as the food was already so flavorful. I took it home and will add it to my cooking Complimentary bottled water when dining in; thank you. Saved me a walk back to the car. Next time we will try your other side, your partner's Fuego Tacos! Atmosphere - Beautiful location. I look forward to all the future decor. Decent size indoor seating, booths, tables, and counters. See pictures. Outdoor seating also, see pictures. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm or 10pm. See my pictures. Huge restroom. Service - 6 stars. Both Barry and his wife are so welcoming. If you are following, we usually eat at "irregular" times to avoid crowds. So not many customers, which gave us a chance to hang out with Barry, and all the other owners. Price - $42 + tip. Reasonable prices for all we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your continued success! And all your awards (4, soon to be 5...?) We look forward to supporting you.

Inside is very clean and modern, so it's not like going into a third world place like some places ... but sometimes those place have great food. You just put your order in with the guy at the cash register. The menu is up on the wall. My friend got some pupusas, sort of like grilled stuffed tortillas. I went for the super burrito and we shared some street tacos. Tacos were just $2.25 each and the burrito was $9.99. I got both with al pastor for my meat choice. The salsa bar has lots of different choice to choose from from mild to super hot ... all labeled. The cooks just call out your order, so you better listen for it. The street tacos had a ton of meat on them and I just put some salsa one all of them as well as adding onions and greens. Wow, these were some of the best tacos I ever had! Just pick them up and fold and shove in mouth! Tasty! The burrito was a little different than other burritos I've had. The tortilla shell wasn't as thick of doubled over in the folding so it wasn't as easy to get it to stand up to eat hand held from one end, but having less tortilla is better cause it's easier to bite into and the taste of the fillings come through better. I like this burrito! I'd come back here again if I'm in the area. Sometimes I have my crew with me for work out on East Carson sometimes, I'll bring them here.

It isn't a fancy place, but the food more than makes up for it, delivering consistently great flavor and quality The chef clearly knows what she's doing. Every dish I've tried has been fresh, well-prepared, and full of authentic flavor. Having traveled through Asia, I'd say this is some of the most genuine Indonesian food you'll find locally. "Selamat Makan" is roughly Bon Appetit in Indonesian…read more Although I was born in the US, my parents are from Indonesia, so my upbringing was centered around family gatherings and tons of delicious Indonesian Cuisine. When I heard all the rave reviews of Bali Express in Carson, we had to try it. What started as a Food Truck, Bali Express has found a permanent home in a space shared with Fuego Street Tacos. An interesting set up but it works. There is a nice amount of seating and the two vendors seem to make it work. Nice. We ordered one of my wife's favorite dishes, Beef Rendang. Tender beef simmered for hours (and hours) in a thick, soy sauce based sauce. Done properly, it has rich flavors and in this case, just a touch of Sambal (Chili sauce). The flavors were authentic but the meat was not as tender as I would have hoped. It wasn't bad but a hallmark of Rendang perfection is the tenderness of the meat. While it was fine for me, unfortunately the heat was a bit too much for my wife, who ultimately could not eat the dish because it was too spicy. Indonesian cuisine is inherently spicy (when cooked properly), so buyer be ware. We also ordered Gado Gado. A very traditional Vegetable Salad kind of dish. Gado Gado is one of those dishes that can vary from the availability of vegetables, to regional differences to differences in recipes handed down from generation to generation. As such, while this was not the same as my "mom would make", it was pretty darn close. Based on shredded cabbage, there was a plentiful amount of tofu, potatoes (nice touch), seasoned hard boiled egg and other treats. The dish is topped with a peanut sauce. I would definitely order again but wished the sauce had a richer, more peanuty taste. This is a 100% a personal preference thing and not a criticism of the dish. The Gado Gado is great. We also tried the Shrimp Tempura. While not Indonesian, the Shrimp Tempura was well executed. Lightly breaded, the shrimp was fried to have a nice crispy snap to the coating but not at all greasy. The flavor was rich and light and served with a sweet sauce. Today, my parents have both passed so my opportunities for authentice Indonesian is pretty limited. Bali Express is the real deal. Authentic Indonesian Cuisine. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Selamat Makan
