This was such an amazing experience from start to finish. As someone with a gluten and dairy allergy, eating out is tough; especially in a new city. The Butchers Daughter was so accommodating and made sure the meal was not only gluten and dairy free, they made sure it was nut and shellfish free for my BF. We got the Vegan Carbonara with Zoodles (no vegan parm), Hummus with extra veggies, Roasted Potatoes, Winter Gem Salad (no cheese and pecans, SOS) The Carbonara was so fresh and light with the zoodles, and the béchamel was divine. The roasted potatoes were herby and not too oily. Very soft and great flavor. The hummus was so smooth and flavorful: I loved the crispy chickpeas on top. The Winter Gem salad was amazing. The pickled shallots were incredible and the dressing was so unique and different (we even dipped the potatoes in it!) We went on a Thursday night for their DINNER MENU and ended up doing takeout instead of dining in. The host was INCREDIBLE at accommodating the order and ensuring that we felt safe eating the meal. (I am writing this the next day and i'm not symptomatic in the slightest) I did not take any good pictures, but the takeout came in cardboard/paper containers and kept the food well. We stopped by for coffee and pastries this morning after staying in the nearby Pod hotel, and we were pleasantly surprised with our coffee (I loved my rose cardamom latte with almond milk - no upcharge for the win, my partner got the iced mint latte) along with a savory tomato scone and a sourdough blueberry muffin. The scone was flavorful but more dense and oily than I prefer, however the muffin was AMAZING! Soft fluffy texture and very strong blueberry flavor with just the mildest tang from the sourdough. I think that this place was good. The hotel that we stayed at gave a discount if we went there so it was close and we just came to have a snack before we left to go other places. I will say that when we were there a few of the things on the menu were just out of stock so it was a little bit harder to find smaller appetizers because the menu wasn't very extensive. What we did have was good. But I don't think it was my favorite stop in Brooklyn. I enjoyed the mushroom Pate. I thought that it was just delicious. I enjoyed all the little accoutrements that you could put with it. For me. I would have loved more bread and more of the pickles. But it really did hit the spot. I did get one of their fresh juices. Going down. It was delicious. I thought that it was one of the tastiest things that I had in a while. But my stomach did not like something that fresh and I was unwell after a little bit. But I think that it was mostly because it was a pear juice and you know that pears gets things moving. I would probably get it again, and not learn my lesson. That's how much I liked it. Such a cute, chic spot with clean, healthy options. I love the West Hollywood location and was thrilled to discover one in New York. They definitely managed to bring the charm of the LA location to New York, creating a little oasis in Williamsburg. This spot was nearby the hotel I was staying at and as we were walking by we decided to give it a try as we wanted outdoor seating with our pups. The place is spacious and has a good amount of seating available and the instrumental music is a nice touch. The bird poop around the outer tables is a bit of a nuisance but totally understandable for a NYC spot and I'd say outside of their control. We were greeted promptly and given a choice of where to sit and we opted for an outside/sidewalk table (due to the aforementioned pups). Our server came and walked us through a few options on the menu, please keep in mind that this place is FULLY vegan so there are only plant based meat alternatives on the menu. With that I opted for an açaí bowl and my fiancé went for the country breakfast. We also got the juice flight share and to try. The açaí bowl was great. I asked for a side of honey to go with it and it just the last touch it needed. The honey was fresh and tasty. My fiancé enjoyed the country breakfast, I only tried a potato from it so can't speak to it otherwise (but she finished the plate). The juices were a mixed bag. The green juice was strong but good. The passion was probably our favorite, but the others were just ok in terms of taste. I'd go back for something else or even for another bowl with the raspberry and blackberry options which I don't see too often. Oh. They also hooked our pups up with housemade treats which was awesome. As a non-vegan it's hard for me to rate this place. Overall service is terrible. Absolute worst experience! Waiter spilled water all over my daughter and saturated her lap and cell phone. Her cell phone is now not working!!! We placed our food order. My husband found this restaurant- we are always looking for new vegetarian spots and this looked promising based on the menu. Great neighborhood, fun vibes, easy street parking. We were seating immediately by the super friendly host. We started with drinks- a green juice and pear mezcalina. Juice was delish, cocktail was pretty good but pretty weak in my opinion. Our apps came quickly- a spicy kale ceasar and buffalo broccoli wings. The kale Caesar was a 6 for me, a 10 for my husband. Kale was a little too big with rough stems and didn't taste like Caesar at all. It was tangy and crunchy but again, not a Caesar. The broccoli wings were amazing! Not too spicy ( they have a bbq option as well if you really don't like spice) really nice crispy batter and delicious herby ranch dressing with a little tang. Unfortunate I forgot to take pics of our mains- husband had pad thai which he loved! I had the beet burger. It was really good! Delicious homemade veggie burger with lettuce, tomato, fried onions, melty cheese, and special sauce. Definitely could've used a heavier shmear of the sauce. The burger came with a few halved fingerling potatoes which were very good! We were really stuffed at this point lol. We went to about a dozen coffee shops during our five day trip to Brookly and Manhattan. I have to say that this one topped them all. It's quiet, but the staff is great. The restaurant is vegetarian, and offers some dairy-free and gluten-free options. Their coffee is quite good. My son had "The Best Egg Sandwich" from their menu. There is a photo attached to my review. While I didn't try it, man it looked good. And, he said so. As for me, I had the Coconut Yogurt Parfait. The Yogurt was vegan. It was loaded with granola, blueberries, and strawberries. And it was scrumptious. You would never know it wasn't milk based yogurt. They also had one othe thing I could have. They had two dairy-free, gluten-free pastries, but only one of them was also nut-free. I had a scone with "Facon" and "Cheddar Cheeze." I took the scone with me and ended up having it for breakfast the next day. The scone was dense, as most gluten-free baked goods are. Most fake cheeses don't have much of a flavor, and I have to say I couldn't really taste it. The fake bacon, though, did have a real bacon taste. The servers were incredibly nice. We had time to kill so spent over an hour sitting over two coffees and the two breakfast items. They didn't mind that we sat there and talked for that much time. That was a real plus. read more

My nephew just got scrambled eggs. Can't recall what my wife got, and I got a breakfast bowl that I can't seem to find on the menu online, so it must be new (or recently removed). My bowl has wild rice, mushrooms, eggs, tortilla strips, avocado, pico and poached eggs. Leads me to believe it was a Mexican bowl or a deconstructed huevos rancheros or maybe a California bowl. It doesn't really matter. It was very good. Hearty, filling, tasty. I did need to add salt and pepper but this was breakfast so salt and pepper is a standard addition. Giving three stars because of consistency issues. This place is hit or miss. When they hit, they really hit--the food is awesome. When they miss, they miss wildly--we're like, what happened? For example, got the avocado toast twice. First time, total hit. It was the best avocado toast I ever had. The second time was appalling. The avocado was gray and brown. It looked like sick ET from that 80s was being served all mashed up. When placing delivery orders, we wish they stapled the bag shut, and we also wish they consistently had a "make it vegan" option for the dishes that can be made vegan. We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited an unusually long time before anyone even came to take our order. After finally ordering, the food and drinks also took far too long to arrive. When my husband received his vegan egg sandwich, he took one bite and immediately realized it wasn't vegan. After 30 years of being vegan, this was extremely upsetting and honestly traumatic. The staff's response was minimal at best--no real apology or effort to make things right. To make matters worse, the hot sauce on the table had a bug in it. Service throughout was painfully slow and disengaged. We left a small tip based on our experience, and even then, when we asked for our two to-go orders, we were completely ignored.
