This is a very cozy, homey spot. It was my first time trying a piadine, which is like a crispy toasted flatbread sandwich with arugula, stracchino, and parmesan inside - super simple and flavorful. The coffee was also really creamy. The staff were really helpful and warm!

Amazing coffee, and nice Italian tortilla sandwiches. The sandwich was quite simple but the ingredients tasted high quality. Quirky and cozy interior, with friendly staff.

Cozy, unpretentious coffee shop that has a nice indoor area for working as well as outdoor picnic tables. The coffee is always good and prepared quickly. They have food options as well although u have never partaken in them. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in the area. One of my favorite morning spots!

Full disclosure we traveled to the area to go someplace else a couple of blocks away, however they were closed for a private event. So we did a quick search and found Lella Alimentari and what a great turn of events that happened to be. Arriving at their corner there were lots of picnic tables to enjoy outside and a window to place your order. We decided to go inside and the smallish space was welcoming, casual and rustic. The staff and many customers were speaking Italian and if I didn't look outside, I may have thought I was in Italy. They serve mainly piadina which is a thin Italian flatbread and make great sandwiches. The sandwiches were lovely, with just enough ingredients to make each bite heavenly. We opt'd for the Classico which included watercress, crudo di parma and stracchino cheese. The peppery arugula paired with the meat and melty cheese was perfect. The Porchetta had roasted radiccho, porketta and the stracchino cheese another wonderful version; I just loved the radiccho along with the other ingredients. Everything was so balanced. We didn't want our meal to end so ordered a latte and mini bombolone filled with Nutella. The latte was amazing, I wish I had asked what coffee they used, because it was so smooth and flavorful and the bombolone was the perfcet size bursting with Nutella. A great place we didn't plan on visiting, but am so glad we did.

Service is great, everyone that works there seems to be Italian and have the perfect charming mixture of extremely unbothered and very attentive that makes you feel like you've taken a lil trip to Europe! This is a compliment to be clear. All the coffee and tea drinks are great, love the window.

Great WFH option with outlets, wifi, a cozy interior and friendly staff! The homey interior initially made me think that laptop usage would be frowned upon, but on the contrary most patrons were on their laptops. It can get a bit crowded in the early afternoon but I've never seen it at max capacity. My iced americano was pretty good, and the poached egg salad was very filling, although a little oily and bacon-heavy for my taste. They have lots of other food items though that I look forward to trying whenever I come back!

Wow... came across this cafe after a meeting a friend who needed to write a few emails. They're an Italian based cafe who serves authentic Italian food and even sell their ingredients like canned tomatoes and pasta. Their menu is in italian so prepare to translate, I ordered the poached eggs salad and it was a m a z i n g! It included romaine lettuce, half avocado, poached eggs, REALLY GREAT bacon, and peppers. This place is very cozy, I wish I lived around I would practically just learn Italian. Their bathroom is very homey too in their cabinet they have bandages, first aid kits, burn gel and even toy cars... and if you haven't noticed it's wrapped in a comic book. They've been around for 8 years, I would highly recommend.

8.18.2023 * Barley Coffee (3.5/5) It mainly tasted like barley tea with a hint of coffee flavor. If I was looking for coffee, I wouldn't get this again. It was still good though since we like barley tea. * Classica Piadine (4/5) The cheese, meat and arugula matched well together in the crispy flat bread. I would get this again. * Tirolo Piadine (3/5) The speck, cabbage and parmesan combination made it very dry. It could've used a sauce. I wouldn't get this again. * Work Vibes (4/5) The place had working wifi and plenty of tables to work. There's outlets and a bathroom too. There's a mix people here to work, but they play music loudly. It is dark, so not the best place to work for me.

Looking for a quick bite to eat and a coffee? Lelia Alimentari is a good place to settle a craving for some Italian Piadines (flatbread sandwiches). We got the 2 cheese and veggies. The portions are awesome considering they were about $11-12. If you like blue cheese, you will like the 2 cheese piadine. The radicchio added a surprisingly nice crunch as well. The veggie one included zucchini, red pepper and cheery tomatoes. Very nice marinade, the only thing that could have made it better was if the veggies themselves were more warmed up. Overall, a nice stop for brunch/lunch.

If ever there were a perfect Italian café, Lella Alimentari is it. On my recent trip to New York, I stayed on the outskirts of Williamsburg and immediately hunted around for a neighborhood café to help me settle in. From the friendly staff to the delicious and fresh ingredients to the charming interiors, it's the only place I actually went back to twice. From the other reviews, I wasn't sure I would like the cafe because I thought it looked a little haywire - and honestly it kind of is...but in a joie de vivre kind of way. The ambiance is warm and unassuming and the staff make you feel right at home - just what you want when you're traveling. There's a sense of quality in everything, from the food to the vintage décor to the vintage-y music. I will say that the service is not the fastest and a little unclear at times (do I pick up here or here?) but it seems to match the charm and it's not a place you want to rush out of anyway. I would gladly go back to this café again....and recommend ordering the "Tostone" - a perfect breakfast of poached egg over spicy arugula, ham and toast (tip: If you order it without the cheese, it comes with avocado and it's even more delizioso!)

Super cute and quaint spot. Authenticly owned since all we heard were Italian accents (staff and customers). The mismatched and busy decor really gave this place an intimate feel. Definitely felt like we were transported to Italy. We arrived mid afternoon on a weekday and the place was packed. The 4 coveted booths were all taken by people leisurely working on their laptops. I can see it impossible to get a seat here on the weekend. Fortunately, we took the last small table available in the center. I enjoyed my cappuccino. Ordered the poached egg salad while my husband got the Burrata as well as a Piadine. Our dishes arrived in a gorgeous presentation. My egg was perfectly poached inside the avocado and melted on a bed of lettuce with shito peppers and bacon. The Burrata cheese was simply amazing.The Piadine was a new concept for me, it's as if a flatbread married a tortilla and produced this thinly sliced hard crepe. We ordered one with roasted tomatoe and mozzarella. Simple with cheese, tomatoe and drizzled in olive oil. It was messy to eat but oh so delicious. Everything was awesome here. I love how all the ingredients were fresh and the dishes not overly done. Needless to say I will be paying this place future visits.

Lella Alimentati is a local gem that specializes in Roman piadines. Think of an Italian marriage between a quesadilla and a panini, and you've got yourself a piadine. It's lighter than a traditional sandwich that is made with baguette or focaccia bread. The staff here is also authentically Italian - not Italian American (Italian American cuisine vs Italian are remarkably different). The classic here is truly a great lunch or brunch item to have - along with a cappuccino (before 11am! ) or a nutellano (an espresso shot with Nutella). A great favorite of mine when I'm walking around the East Williamsburg neighborhood. I hit try to up at least one of these in the area: Lella Alimentari, Anthony and Sons, Casa Cugine, Fortunatos, and Bonnie's to make my rounds. A regular favorite of mine that I highly recommend. read more

This is the cutest place! They have amazing coffee and great little sandwiches as well as other items. I would highly recommend just going in there to chill and sit at a communal table or your own having a pastry and a coffee or lunch. The sandwiches they are known for are really interesting, kind of a mix between a flatbread, a pita, and a wrap. I really liked the one I had (the original) although I may add tomato to the original next time if possible. My husband does not eat pork products and they were really cool and offered to add/sub avocado instead which is really nice of them to do so without asking for substitution. The ambiance is awesome really eclectic and cool. The bathroom is a must see just for the old scale and decor. I felt like I was in Rome or other areas of Italy would highly recommend! read more

My friend and I stumbled upon this coffee shop after we had walked all the way to a different part of town for a bagel shop that ended up being closed. We had already stopped at another coffee shop that had a sign on the door- Be back in 5 min. We kept walking and stepped aside to look up directions when we saw Lella. A gentleman walked out with the cutest hat and said he was closing, but welcomed us in anyways. He made us 2 lattes, but the star was the Nutellinooo It's Nutella with espresso. "Kiko" I don't know how to spell it was so kind and had the most beautiful accent. Ask him to say Lella Alimentari- I felt like I was right back in Italy. He hooked us up with stickers upon stickers upon stickers- a stickers addict dream come true AND said the coffees were on him! I never write reviews, but just had to share this glimmer of an experience I won't forget! read more

I used to live right around the corner from Lella Alimentari, and now, from my current home in Richmond, I find myself genuinely missing this place. I think this is one of the most underrated breakfast spots in Williamsburg. The vibe is cozy on a quiet street a block from Metropolitan, and you can hear Italian flowing freely among the staff and patrons on a typical morning, which I of course take as a good sign. The star of the show here is the piadine, a delicious quesadilla-like flatbread that I wish I had waited until after this Passover season to first taste. I had a vegetarian variety filled with a generous dose of stracchino cheese that would place this dish firmly in the category of "hangover cure." I will be returning soon to try the so-called salads, which looked much more decadent than the name would suggest. read more

Cozy setting for breakfast during a rare snowy morning this winter! It reminded me more of a country store off the highway in Vermont than a cafe in Williamsburg, in a good way. Service at the counter was polite and helpful, and we settled into a booth for a while. The breakfast choices were not what I would usually go for, but I got the frittata, smothered it in hot sauce, and it was okay. Perhaps next time, I would go for lunch or opt for one of the pretty pastries instead. read more

Such a cute place with beautifully presented salads in Williamsburg. Had the fresh squeezed orange juice, cold pressed coffee and a salad. Lots of outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade in hot NYC summer that wraps around the block. There is an open window for taking orders. Want to try their barley coffee next time. read more

Adorable, authentic and convenient. Had a morning breakfast with a girlfriend and we really enjoyed the quaint vibes. The place itself takes you to old Italy and the food quick bites we got were great. I got a quiche which was flavorful and well done and my friend got a Nutella and bread with coffee. Hard to go wrong. Great cafe. read more

There are always people line up for a good coffee at Lella Alimentari. They also have seats outside that you can hang out and enjoy your morning. My puppy loves this place everytime we pass by he has to stop and expecting treats, lol. I got a cup of mocha this morning and it was so good. People are so nice and friendly and sometimes my pup can say hi to new friends. read more

Slightly disappointing. I got the Classica sandwich (arugula, cheese, and prosciutto), and it got very cheesy and heavy quickly. I had high expectations since a friend told me this was his favorite place in Brooklyn, but I thought it was mediocre. I also got a "nutellino ($4-5)" thinking it was a latte but it was just a small Dixie cup worth of espresso with nutella. If you are in the area I still think it's worth trying but not for people who must trek to Brooklyn . Also would NOT recommend if you are lactose intolerant. read more

I've only been here once but I really liked it. The piadine reminds me of a crepe, but less soggy. We got the one with arugula, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella. It was really good! Fresh, clean ingredients. Great to share if you're looking for a snack! read more

Stopped by for a quick bite while walking through the neighborhood. The cafe has a relaxed Southern European feel. They had about ten options of hot teas plus black and green iced teas. I opted for a iced green tea. They were serving their late evening menu when I was there which included their Piadines. Piadines are flat bread sandwiches. The bread is made from similar dough to Neapolitan pizza so it's lighter and chars well but it's still flat like a wrap. I'm guessing this style of sandwich originated in or around Northern Italy because that's the only other place I've had something similar was in Milan. I had the Triolo Piadine which included speck, radicchio, and pecorino. They're very accommodating and allowed my fiancée to customize a sandwich. Cozy cafe that I look forward to returning to! read more

One of my favorite cafe breakfasts. They offer a few fun meals to accompany breakfast. The eggs and toast are nice but them piadines are really the star. The pocketta piadine is my favorite and it is a nice pork flavor without being greasy and heavy. The atmosphere feels like my grandmothers house and has a fun 90s chic to it. As Italians we are usually skeptical about Italian food abroad - but small places like Lella always make us change our mind. We went there after a friend (also Italian) recommended it and we liked it. We had piadinas, typical flatbread sandwich from Emilia Romagna, one with prosciutto di Parma and one with cooked ham and stracchino. Stracchino is a typical Italian soft cheese which is insanely delicious - and this one at Lella was the real deal! The piadina was good (maybe I would have put a little less rucola..) and the service fast and nice Inside, they even have some Italian products that one can buy for fair prices! I LOVED Lella Alimentari! This small little breakfast/brunch/coffee shop is owned by a husband-and-wife team, Nanni (the cafe being named after his mother) and Paola. There are two small menus, one that is fixed and one that shows daily specials - items such as French toast, piadina sandwiches, poached eggs, pastries, as well as hot/cold beverages are available. The hubs and I came here for a later lunch, and we ordered a Tostone (a thick multi-grain toast, topped with fresh arugula, avocado, a beautifully poached egg, and topped with salt, pepper, and a beautiful housemade pesto - this was absolutely DIVINE!!! The taste was just unbelievable! While the there was no plantain chip here, this rendition of a tostone was just pure magic! It was well-seasoned, creamy, yolky, and dreamy - all the flavors married well together, and this was a hearty, healthy, and a delicious plate)! I also tried an iced latte - strong, creamy, and delicious! The staff here are super friendly, welcoming, and more than welcome to make recommendations for you. There's limited seating, with a few booths and small tables. There didn't seem to be any AC, so it does get pretty warm, even with some of the fans on. YESSS. We're visiting New York from out of town and feel like we're researching constantly- where to go, what's not a tourist trap, etc. we want the real New York. And this was one of them! Only .07 miles away from our air BNB we took a brisk morning walk. The food is obviously good. Yes it was filling. Be ready to order at the counter and don't take 19 years. Found a cozy spot in the corner even on a Sunday morning at prime brunch time (11:30 am) just walked in and snagged a table. It's possible we would share half of it with another couple. Classy upbeat jazz like elevator music playing. Super pleasant. With louder Italian men in the background. The thing I felt most nervous about was the coffee. I mostly look forward to my morning coffee- I've been a barista 8 years and currently work at a coffee shop in Denver where our head roaster was roasting champion. So I don't take coffee lightly. I rarely give five stars but this last minute take out I ordered was honestly superb. I was nearby getting a massage and wandered out in a post-massage haze. I'm so glad this was the closest cafe. I've walked past it but never stopped in before. The cafe was super cute inside. There were lots of people working and eating at 1pm on a Monday. I didn't know what to order and the cashier recommended the classico sandwich. It was so yummy. I also got a large iced green tea that was VERY large. And a salad that was very good but mostly meat. This is an update in March 2026, the ambience, service and food continue/ to be top-notch for a local café. Everyone who works there is either Italian or Italian-adjacent which makes the atmosphere European and cozy. The interior is created by a Film Production Designer and is one of a kind and charming -- made with found objects. I would highly recommend the "classica" piadine & chinotto for an amazing culinary lunch experience. They also have beer and wine and Aperol spritz now and in the summer sometimes they have Aperitivo (cocktails with free snacks!!!) in the evenings on Fridays or other weekend days.
