Tonight there is a glass blowing demonstration, drinks at the bar, a street full of food and makers booths, loads of glass pumpkins and other things to look at and purchase if you like! There's ample parking for patrons and the building itself has high ceilings for lots of air circulation. On my visit they had a small stage for the talent to speak about their experiences as well as a separate room for signings/photos. During today's class there were other people doing independent work and they would intermittently offer a suggestion or two to the participants in the demo class which created a welcoming, communal environment. You will need to wedge your own clay in the demo course so if you want to just show up and have everything ready for you, maybe go with the date night option. If you want to learn a little bit more about the craft in general, this is a great option.

Fennel is a unique cooking studio. They offer a variety of classes each month, some of which are…read moreseasonal. Some of the classes are in partnership with local restaurants or farms. Their website usually lists the current month and the next month. The classes cost about $100 each (some less, some more) and are limited to 16 people. There is usually one instructor and two assistants. They provide the mise en place, implements, and instruction. You receive a folio of recipes to take home. Over the course of the class you work together to cook the dishes. At the end of class you socialize and eat and you get to take leftovers home. It's a fun activity to do with friends, partners, colleagues, or family members. I have taken the scones class, the pie class, and the mole class. All were great. The studio is clean. The instruction is clear. It's just a fun experience.
