Came here on a third Friday in October for a fun, fun night. This place has glass classes & workshops, a retail shop, and loads of exhibitions. It's the main attraction in the Delmar Maker District, according to them, "leading the neighborhood's mission to support and promote makers of all kinds." Tonight there is a glass blowing demonstration, drinks at the bar, a street full of food and makers booths, loads of glass pumpkins and other things to look at and purchase if you like! We are going home with a glass pumpkin... It's a fun place to be. I recommend it! read more

Went during one of the Third Fridays of the month event while Delish on Delmar was happening and had so much fun! We really enjoyed the tacos, the cheesecake samples, and the fall themed drinks. The glasswork was amazing. They had the cutest glass creations for sale. There were workshops going on where you could create your own glass pumpkins and glass blowing demonstrations happening. I really enjoyed this collaboration that happened a while ago and I came across these photos to update my review. The professionals definitely were both good at personal relations and teaching at the same time and presenting at the same time. I love the event that was hosted here. The parking was not able to hold as much people that were invited for that big of that the walk was worth it in the heat into the building that was air chilled. It was a lot of fun. Didn't get to touch anything or help present anything but seeing it done seemed like it took a lot of patience. I can't believe we were right in front of it and seeing an action. read more

Super cool venue. Finally made it to a third Friday evening event and I'm so glad I did. It's an incredible free event. The glass blowing demonstration was fascinating and while I had a hard time distinguishing the speaker's voice through the sound system, there was a very clear video feed I could watch to see all the work in action. It was great to walk around and see the different glass art pieces. Such amazing talent! My partner and I enjoyed cocktails and the empanadas. Everyone at the event was friendly and generally the atmosphere was a very positive one. I'm looking forward to coming back again. Definitely an evening well spent. read more

We visited the Third Degree Glass Factory for their Third Friday of every month. Despite the weather, they had a large turnout. They had live demonstrations of the glass blowing, live music, cocktails and food. They even had a burning ceremony where everyone put what they wanted to let go of in 2024 into an urn and it was burnt in a ceremonial burning event. It gave visitors an opportunity to check out the art by local artists. It even featured art by famous glass blowing artists featured on the Netflix show "Blown Away". This is definitely a unique spot in STL. They offer glass blowing classes as well. This space is used as an event space as well for weddings too! Definitely check out the Glass factory! read more

I've been here before for events and had a great time in their beautiful facilities, but my most recent visit was for a completely different reason. My mother in law was visiting from out of state and was looking for some supplies. She's had a hard time finding what she wanted o line and shipping costs were high. (Shipping glass can't be easy or cheap!) Remembering that they did classes, I called asking if they had supplies for sale as well. Joy answered all of my questions and even walked back to check the inventory of a couple things for us. When we got there, everyone was friendly and helpful. I had no idea the amount of different supplies, tools and services that they offered to artists in this medium! My mother in law was able to find everything that she needed for much less than it would have cost online, and enjoyed talking with the different artists there. If you need glass making supplies, want to take a class, or shop for handmade glass items, this is a great place to go! Oh, and the events venue is amazing too... ;) read more

The entire experience is top-notch - would highly recommend! Despite their busy schedule, Third Degree Glass opened up a special time spot for our family to take a glass blowing lesson. We had 8 people and 2 kids under five. Super easy to book and customer service was highly responsive. The space is beautiful and much larger than expected! Gorgeous gallery with all the pieces on display, huge event space, full bar area - everything is dialed in. They even have glass tile and glass water features in the restrooms. Our teacher, Addison, was awesome! He gave us a full tour, introduced us to the safety protocols and explained the full glass blowing process at our speed. He took the time to let each one of us make our own piece during the time frame - we made ornaments, vases, glasses, and ornate paper weights. Even the kids got involved, blowing air bubbles to 'inflate' the size of the glass. We got to pick our own colors, patterns, shapes and sizes. Even the least creative of us were wildly surprised how well our pieces turned out. Addison also showed us his creativity by making a full glass horse in under 2 minutes! Our pieces were available for pick up or shipping making it so easy. We loved our experience. read more

Third Fridays are amazing! There was a live band and good food and a crowd of people. We brought our two year old so we were dodging glass pieces of art. Luckily nothing broke and he had a good time. I can only comment on this space under special circumstances as we were there for the Saluki Takeover event last night which is outside of their normal business hours. The event space is immaculate and I can only imagine how great it would be to have a wedding here. The one pic I took was of their restroom sinks as they use the blown glass from their shop in those and they are quite striking in person and the pic doesn't really do it justice. The glass blowing demonstration was also top notch. I never got the bame of the caterer, but the food was also solid. The bartenders were commensurate professionals. The only reason for four stars instead of five is some of the merchandise was quite high. I understand that many pieces have to be highly priced due to the amount of work hours involved and expertise taken to get to that level, but several thousand dollars for some of the smaller pieces seemed quite excessive. Ultimately, I would happily attend any other event at this space in the future and I might be back once my 11 month old daughter gets older to buy some glass ornaments for our Christmas tree as those were fairly reasonably priced. read more

This is one of the coolest places in St. Louis. If you're thinking of hosting an event there, I highly recommend it! We had a cocktail reception there last month. The staff was incredibly helpful with the planning process. We worked closely with Alison, she was super responsive and a pleasure to plan with. Jen the bar manager was so helpful in curating specialty cocktails for the event. She also helped us find an artist that could make the type of piece we wanted for the demo! Sarah and Doug the managers for our event night were super friendly and very helpful. The space is gorgeous with a built in art gallery. The new bar installment is huge and helped avoid any long drink lines. The only downside is the parking, it's a bit disjointed. However they do offer a golf cart to shuttle people to their cars. We ended up hiring a valet service and it worked out great! read more

Umm this place is super cool. I'm not sure if it's set up for events only, as they have a kiln room behind glass, but I went to an art fundraising event put together by ArtScope and I loved this venue. They have a bar, a food truck was on site, requested by the event host, and probably to coolest bathroom sinks I've ever seen. The Glass Blowing Experience was great. Addison was our guide/Instructor and he was fantastic to work with. There were a lot of hands on activity for my wife and I, but Addison would step in when an experienced craftsman was needed. He also walked us through chosing the pieces we could do, from a large selection on display in the gallery. He also help us pick colors so as to have bright, brilliant finished pieces (not all colors work with other colors when heated). While not a cheap date, it is well worth the money. Not only do you spend an enjoyable 2.5 hours with your mate, but you end up with truly one of a kind glass pieces. If you do decide to book, I highly recommend booking with Addison! read more

So much fun! Mrs V and I splurged on the one-on-one class. Addison is awesome. It is a bit pricey but you get 2-4 pieces out of it which, for homemade glassware is pretty sweet. Awesome space for events, the glassware on display is pretty impressive. Fun fact: they make the Keys to the City and other awards. I attended a wedding here and it was such a unique venue. The wedding reception area was spacious and had a lot of natural light. Cocktail hour was in a separate room, which had the beautiful glass work on display. The area was large enough to easily hold 100 guest +. Connected to that area was the room where we could see the artist creating glass sculptures. We had the option to either go in the room, which had several seats, or watch The creations being made through the glass. There was also a nice outdoor patio where guest could play games or step out for fresh air. There was plenty of parking in the lot, but like most events, a lot of us Ubered. read more

My husband and I had come here previously for an Open House night and since he has an interest in glass blowing I had gotten him a gift certificate to take a class before COVID. Years later we finally redeemed it. They told him at booking he could bring someone to assist or participate as well since glass blowing is not really a 1 man show so I also got to come and help! We were able to make a couple ornaments and a vase in the 2.5 hour session. Our instructor, James Wright, walked us through the building to show us the different things people make there and gave us an overview of some of the tools and things we would be using/ how the process goes before getting started as once you've got hot glass, you need to move fairly quickly. We had SO MUCH FUN. I loved this experience. I got to help with blowing, picking the colors of frit we would use, and doing some molding and work at the bench. We will definitely be back to do more. There is a nice little gallery outside the studio so you can get ideas of what to make and what colors and techniques look like to which is great to discuss with your instructor going into it. You can also host events here (they even have a bar inside for events). Its really amazing to just be in the building but totally awesome to make something yourself. Most people posting have used Third Degree as an event venue: I'm going to review it as a place to make glass art. They have great facilities for glassblowing, flameworking, fusing/slumping and coldworking. The rates are very reasonable for studio rental, and private classes are available for those interested in pursuing art glass as a hobby or vocation. I rent studio space as an independent artist in the flame studio. They provide the torches, gases and table space as well as a selection of studio owned tools. They also sell glass, but you can bring your own as well. Some of the renters have our own supplies and torches, and Third Degree is happy to let us use our own equipment - locker rental is even available. There are some very talented glass artists at work in this studio, and you don't need a special event to come see what they are up to during gallery hours. It's also great to be able to shop for glass art and jewelry that is all locally made my artists right here in our own backyard. If you are interested in glass art, I highly recommend giving Third Degree a look. read more

I had a great time at the Third Degree Glass Factory last Friday night! I was able to listen to some reggae, enjoy a snow cone, watch people play with fire, and finally I got to see some tiny glass creations! I always get nervous when I end up in places with delicate items all around, but I managed to keep a safe distance and not break anything! The factory has so many beautiful items to look at. I got to see vases, ornaments, paperweights, and so much more. I really enjoyed the giant fruit bowl! I think once day I will own a giant fruit bowl and place tons of fake glass fruits in it...why?...because I can! I really enjoyed the crowd on Friday night, there were so many different ages represented. I can tell that this place is popular among the locals. Now that I've been for a 3rd Friday event I know I'll go back again and again. I was told that each month they have a different "them" so it might not ever get old! read more

Very cool that we have a factory for glass art right here in the city. I've attended weddings and other events and always have had a great time. There's glass art everywhere! It's a pretty decent size, but also feels homey. I'm guessing a 400/500 person event space. There are restrooms when you first walk inside on the left, they are not gender neutral tho. To the right there's a ton of open space. I've seen them set up a wedding ceremony there, as well as a reception. Then there's a back area with a bar and another large space. Every time I've visited there's always been a helpful and friendly staff servicing parties, the bar moves pretty quickly. They host events/ sessions in the very back of the space where you can watch live glass blowing. read more

This place is so cool!!! It's addicting to watch the glow blowers. They run demo nights now and then and have a huge, beautiful space. Can't wait until COVID is over so they can do more events. Lots of nice pieces for sale. You can take lessons and even schedule a group workshop with custom requests. They can also do glass repairs. Third Degree Glass Factory (TDGF) was a beautiful venue and a space that my husband and I would 100% recommend for a wedding reception! When we first began looking at venues in the St. Louis area, our goal was to find a beautiful space that offered a memorable experience for our guests within our budget and TDGF fit our needs perfectly. TDGF was responsive and upfront in the quoting process and gave us a clear idea on what our reception would look like. We began working with Jessica when we first signed our contract and Brooke joined the team about five months before our event. Both Jessica and Brooke worked well within their communications portal and were able to provide thoughtful insights to the needs of our wedding reception. One thing to consider, Third Degree Glass Factory was still going through a few updates between when we first set our reception date and when our reception was held. This included some wonderful surprises including beautiful high-top tables that matched the bar and new overhead spot lights that allowed for our band to be 'featured' a bit more. They also had a couple of items in our contract that were subject to availability such as colored glass centerpieces (which are no longer available), and specific artists capabilities for glass pieces. These changes did not materially impact our evening, but if you want to adhere to a strict vision, be sure to make TDGF aware of your requests. They are continuing to build out their event experience and we expect that the space will get even better! The space itself is open, with beautiful exposed brick, glass pieces arranged on walls and hung from the ceiling, and a full on 'hot shop' which married an industrial environment with a beautiful canvas upon which we could compose our reception. Our evening included a cocktail hour, unity ceremony, seated dinner, and a live band for 140 guests and the space worked exceptionally well. The large banquet hall had plenty of space, but never felt cavernous for a plated dinner and large dance floor. The glass gallery made for a wonderful setting to have our unity ceremony and cocktail hour--getting to see seasonal art pieces was super unique. The outdoor space was lovely and provided guests with a great place to grab a bit of fresh air and a quiet space over the course of the evening. We had guests coming up to us asking 'how did you find this place?!' and 'I didn't know something this cool existed!' The space is open enough to add your own design touch, but is complete enough that you don't need to do much to make the space feel special. Highlights of TDGF include the option for a live glass demonstration--we had guests coming up to us throughout the evening telling us how special it was to witness a piece of art being created. It perfectly complemented our cocktail hour after our unity ceremony. The way Allison runs the bar program at TDGF is also exceptional. We had two signature cocktails as well as a full bar--the cocktails were well mixed and folks hardly had to wait to get a drink. Their quality and variety of spirits rival standalone bars. TDGF feels like they have invested in an excellent bar program and it shows! We had a seamless experience working with our vendors and the run of show was well put together and easy to follow. The evening of our reception went off without a hitch and Brooke, our coordinator, was incredibly responsive through the process. Third Degree is evolving for the better and making strides to be the premier event space of St. Louis. Book them now while you still can! read more

I've had two different experiences with Third Degree and they were both fantastic! My first was over a year ago we had a glass ceremony for the wedding supplied by this location and after the ceremony blown into a vase and an ornament. Both products look great and they were very easy to work with. Just recently we had a corporate outing there to blow glass and make ornaments. I had a blast and my ornament is amazing. There were three instructors with about 20 of us. I heard one instructor didn't have much personality but I didn't work with him I had another who was quite the character. They shipped the ornaments about a week after our event once they had cured and I've gotten to see pictures as everyone has received theirs, they all look great. A little bit ago I went to a wedding reception here. The venue is pretty perfect for an urban, warehouse type event space. It has beautiful lofty ceilings with brick interior. They leave a lot of the glass art up which is fun and adds to the "trendy" vibes this place offers--not to mention you can peruse the creations! It is kind of separated into 2 rooms which may prove a bit problematic but you can't always get what you want! If you go here, you have to check out the bathrooms. The sinks are made of glass! It got voted best bathroom in the RFT. If you are looking for a large open space, consider checking this one out. read more

I've gone to two glass experiences at Third Degree this year. The first was my mom's 70th birthday party. I organized a private experience for 12 people to make a glass tile. Reserving the event was a breeze and the event itself was a total hit! We had an hour to pick a tile, create a design from scraps of glass. There are all kinds of colors and shapes of glass to work with. The instructor explains how to cut/shape the glass to make what you'd like. The pieces are then coated in a glue to ensure they don't move. Third Degree then completes the last step of melting the designs into place and adding a magnet, nightlight, etc. to the back to allow use of your design. It was such a unique experience and each tile turned out so neat! The second experience was making a paperweight. My husband and I had a private experience with artist Tyler. Tyler did a wonderful job explaining what we were going to do and then guiding us through the entire process. It was so neat to get to put hands on and begin to understand glass blowing and art. We selected our colors, got to turn the glass in the fire, shaped the glass, added bubbles to the paperweights, and even got to put our initials in the paperweight. I haven't tried their classes yet so I really can't comment on those. I used to do some glassblowing stuff back in highschool when I was living in Pittsburgh and I'd love to try it again sometime! But anyway...! BF and I were bored on a Sunday (last Sunday, the 13th of Nov) and decided to drive by this place since we were already on Delmar headed toward the Loop. We were surprised to see that it was actually open on a Sunday which, according to Yelp, it should be closed on a Sunday. (Thank God for Yelp iPhone App and for people who upload hours to places. AMEN.) Apparently they were having some kind of art show thing going on so decided to check it out. According to Sean, Sunday is the worst day of the week (it's right up there with Monday, actually) because NOTHING is ever fucking open! GAH! So we struck it lucky... we wandered inside and saw a variety of local artists pedaling their creative wares. We headed to the gallery because IMHO the glass stuff looked far more interesting (sorry local artsy fartsy folk) and discovered some awesome glass pumpkins and XMas ornaments. Along with tons of beautiful vases and jars and bottles-turned-glasses which we couldn't afford to buy! Instead I settled on a glass pumpkin and ornament as presents for my mom back in the Burgh who loves glass art. We chatted up the girl behind the counter (who was very cute btw) and talked about jewelry making classes and glass blowing classes. I should also note I've been here for their Third Friday event before and it was AWESOME. They had fire jugglers, dancers, musicians, food, drank, and all sorts of fun stuff. How fun is this place? And even more, how unique? I'm sure there is an entire world of people out there involved in the art of glass blowing, but up until I was turned on to this place, I had no idea it could be found in St. Louis. As a child I'd been to a glass factory in Europe and marveled at how they make the glass into such amazing shapes by blowing through a tube. I know there's a good deal more to it than that, but really, it's a kind of art I've never experienced. I attended a group event at this place and loved the space. It's very cool, wharehouse-y sort of feel. They host events there and our group rented out the place. While we were there, we got to watch a glass-blowing class. One guy was making something very cool but it broke just after he shaped it. Very sad moment. I would love to take a class here, and you can. They've got classes in kilnworking, beadmaking, glassblowing and paperweight making. Very cool. Or hot. Depends on how you look at it. read more

You can walk in here and get a unique and beautiful gift for just about anybody you can think of...boss, aunt, gf/bf, the pope, you name it. I was worried about a V Day gift when I walked in and found an AWESOME glass flower for roughly the price of 2 roses that would die in less than a week (see pic). I love places that encourage people to be creative. Most people are more creative than they think, and the relative ease with which you can take classes in glassblowing, flameworking, etc could wind up bringing out your inner arteest. All you need to do is browse the gallery and you might find yourself feeling a little inspired. Plus, what could be cooler gift-giving-wise than giving something that you forged out of molten glass with your own two hands? Beats the crap out of a gift card. I was going to go with 4 stars since this was my first trip and I was only there for about 20 minutes, but the social gathering they have every third friday of the month puts it over the top for me. I've been here for two different Third Friday night party events and they are awesome! :) Who doesn't like FREE entertainment?! I know I do. They have all kinds of different activities to do from listening to a band play music, watching glass blowers work their magic, or watching people dance with fire (and maybe blow fire!). You can even peruse the glass art that is made in the studio that is also available for purchase. If you pay a small fee you can make your own small glass art project - how cool is that?! There are also food and drink that you do have to pay for. This month they had a special pumpkin glass blowing death match where two teams created glass pumpkins and one survived and the other plummeted to it's water death! so cool! and they also had the Cardinals game up on the tvs/walls around the place since it is the post season which is pretty nifty. If you do go make sure to take a quick run to the bathroom - the sinks are AWESOME! I hear they host events like weddings and receptions and other social events here - what a neat place to host some sort of social event! I'm definitely down to come back and enjoy some free entertainment and maybe pick up a glass art object or two to decorate my house! :) read more

Great event space! I've been to 2 events here and I think the flow is perfect, the art is fun to look at and the bathrooms have to be the best in St. Louis, well I mean the prettiest.
