We had a really nice stay here. It's not in the central part of town, which I liked because it was quieter. Nicely appointed rooms and incredible views and balconies. We especially love the cabanas - we ended up getting one a 2nd day. Service was great. They provide water throughout the hotel. The breakfast included wasn't great. Got really crowded and not much offered, more like something you'd see at a Holiday Inn. I would stay here again.

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel on my first trip to Key West! I read multiple reviews on other hotels in the area and Capitana was the ideal choice. Not only is the hotel essentially brand new, the staff really do their best to make sure you're happy during your stay. We checked in with Yanique who was so pleasant and made sure to text us during the day to ensure everything was up to our standards. She also gave us a tour of the grounds and made sure we knew where everything was. We stayed in a king bed room which is the perfect size for a weekend getaway. There's a kitchen area with plenty of storage, seating area, and sectional couch. The room also includes a nespresso machine with an assortment of coffee pods. The bathroom was clean, spacious, stocked with Nest products and more than enough towels. I am a bit of a hotel snob and to have the room look just like the photos and be very clean was such a relief. There is also a smart TV in the room where you can connect to your Netflix and watch movies before bed! I didn't even realize when I booked, but Capitana offers a free continental breakfast. Eggs, bacon, French toast, bread selection, cereal and an assortment of drinks. For lunch, there is a small bar area that serves food and drinks. You really can spend all day at the hotel and just head out for Dinner. The bartenders were very nice and made great drinks. I will say the only thing missing from Capitana is some sort of included shuttle service to the downtown area. Ubers are about $11 one way or you can drive and try to find a paid parking lot. 10/10 recommend Capitana to anyone visiting Key West and wanting to stay away from all of the downtown noise. Very beautiful property with nice amenities.

We had only been to Key West for a couple of hours on a cruise, but we decided to make a trip to Dry Tortugas and we needed to book a hotel for 2 nights. We looked and looked and couldn't decide where to book a room since we used to live in Destin and know there are always places that look like Heaven in the pics, but look like hell in person, but the Capitana is Heaven in person. It kinda unassuming as you drive in, but once you're inside it's beautiful. The staff were very nice, the room was beautiful, spotless, and quiet. They have a hydration station on each floor that offers free chilled bottles of water which is greatly appreciated. The balcony is so nice and it was so relaxing just to sit there and relax. The pool and hot tub were very nice and I could have sat there all day. We were only there 2 nights and we got there late the first day and we spent the next day at Dry Tortugas so sadly we didn't have a chance to have anything from the restaurant or bar but definitely will our next trip there. We loved it so much we didn't want to leave, but my husband had meetings he had to go to the next day for work so we had to come back home. We're going back the 27th of November so I can't wait to just hang out at the hotel and relax.

Have now stayed here twice. Updating from 4 to 5 stars. Most recent stay was in the cottage which has a full kitchen and 2.5 baths. Much nicer experience as the cottages are separate from the main building and have more space. They overlook a small creek and have a nice back patio. Staff continues to be very helpful during stays. Still want to see them get a restaurant or at least better food, and a shuttle to Duval. Room service would also be wonderful. Keep up the good work!

Hard to capture the beauty in a photo... much better on person! Everything is perfect!!

Love this hotel! Hanna at the front desk greeted us immediately and made us feel like she was happy to have us as her guests. The rooms are awesome with a beautiful view of the ocean and pool from our deck. Class act!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights , we did all the key west activities the first two days but all we wanted to do is come back to The Capitana Resort! It's SO clean! The staff is very helpful and friendly! The amenities are the best! You have your own private little beach and so much more! I couldn't recommend this place enough! Side Note: a famous country singer was staying here while we were here as well. Kinda cool!! LoCash was the name. We seen him out on Duval street and then by the pool the next day!

Invited friends for always a good time.

Property does not have one consistent vibe, but it is closest attributed to South Beach/modern. Rooftop bar has live music in the evening and good drinks while overlooking Duval street. Breakfast selection is good, but if you are used to complementary breakfast through the Marriott status, then you are only offered eggs, bacon, granola, and toast. Sadly the bacon was stale (we were one of the first, if not the very first to order breakfast, so it being completely cold and stale tells me it's not from today). We asked for coffee at breakfast and were pointed to the coffee station on the front end of the bar. Just drip coffee, nothing special. No milk, alternatives or honey, just cream, sugar and stevia. That part could be improved for it being about $400-$500/night. The room itself is decorated well and clean. Plantation shutters look great, but they do let in light in the morning since hotel doesn't have any curtains. Walls are thin as we heard the phone ring, but turns out it was our neighbor.

We book a King Pool view room and it was clean and spacious. It has a small fridge, coffee maker with pods, a pull out couch and 2 chairs at the desk, and a tv. The bed was firm but comfortable and the pillows were nice. The only thing I could see is the at the hallways of floor 2 needed some patching and paint at a few areas. We will definitely come here again on our next trip, soon.

On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. The pull out sofa bed poked me in the back and was uncomfortable. Sand in between the blanket and the sheets from previous people I assume. Then we received a text at 6pm on a Saturday night asking us to be mindful of the guests below us to not move furniture? (We did not move any furniture so we were all very confused?) I chose a poolside room (shared balcony). I was given room 3 and I loved it. :) There is plenty of room for two people. The bed was so comfy and the pillows were perfect. They have complimentary water (2 bottles) in your room. They have a mini fridge and options to buy snacks and liquor. They have fruit infused water next to the pool daily. You will stay hydrated. There is an honor bar next to the water; which has a few pricy options for a beer or other canned beverages. I did see plenty of people have their own drinks poolside. So, outside drinks are allowed at the pool...but no glass. They have two pools. I preferred the pool towards the back. There are lush beautiful plants all around you and you'll often see little lizards scurrying by the pool. They did not have a late checkout for my room but they were nice enough to hold my bags and have use of the pool while I waited for my friends to arrive. I would stay here again but during high season, the rooms get expensive. I loved room 3 but would love to someday stay in the cute cabin looking rooms up behind the pool. They have a covered porch, sitting room m, and a large bathroom. Overall, the service was solid. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
