READ BEFORE VISITING THE CARD DISTRICT!
I had a very disappointing experience at "The Card District". I initially offered to sell a box of cards to the store, but their offer was too low so I declined. While browsing, another customer asked if he could purchase the box from me and we agreed on a fair price.
After doing the transaction, as I was leaving, the store owner stopped me and demanded 10% of the sale, stating that because the transaction occurred on his property, there was a fee. There were no posted signs, no verbal warning, and no prior disclosure of this policy. I was only informed after the transaction was completed. Had this been communicated beforehand, I would have simply taken the transaction outside.
What made this even more frustrating was the lack of flexibility elsewhere. I asked if they could $2 on a $3 single and was immediately shut down. Combined with the situation above, it gave the impression that the shop is extremely rigid with customers while having no issue enforcing undisclosed rules when it benefits them.
I also noticed customers being offered free packs for leaving 5 star reviews in store. Combined with the undisclosed 10% fee and inflexible pricing, this made the shop's practices feel more focused on appearances than transparency.
Additionally, pricing throughout the store felt heavily inflated compared to the local market, with little effort to make products accessible to the community.
