The office staff is absolutely incompetent. They promise to help and all they do is make matters worse.

Dr. Barnett is an excellent diagnostician. He correctly diagnosed my mother with a condition which…read moreis supposed to be quite common in the elderly (artial fibrillation), but which several (five, to be exact) other doctors, including another cardiologist, missed. He prescribed the proper medication, and my mother has had no problems or breakthrough arrhythmia at all on the regimen which he prescribed. He has a very pleasant personality, but more importantly, he is a top notch cardiologist. Mother was diagnosed (by Dr. Barnett) with hypertension, and he very kindly offered to consult with Mother's primary care physician since Mother elected to see him for this problem since he is much closer to where they live. Dr. Barnett truly cares about his patients and will go out of his way to help them. Judy, Dr. Barnett's nurse at Lake Mary, is wonderful. She could not be any more patient, helpful and efficient. .She is very kind and does not seem at all 'bothered', as some nurses seem, when you need their help. I hope and pray that Judy will be with Dr. Barnett as long as he is in practice. A good nurse is worth her weight in gold, and Judy is one GREAT nurse. Just a recent example.. I take Omega 3 capsules, and I wondered if that would be safe for my mother to take. She is on Coumadin (Warfarin) and many, many medications, both OTC and script, interfere with this drug. Therefore, she takes nothing, even OTC meds, without first consulting Dr. Barnett, which is what patients should always do. Just because something is OTC doesn't mean that it can't interfere with other prescription meds. I asked Judy to find out from Dr. Barnett if this would affect mother's INR/Coumadin levels and Judy called back and let us know that Dr. Barnett doesn't want Mother taking Omega 3 as it makes it too difficult to monitor the Coumadin levels. Judy said that he wants her to eat fish, but not to take this supplement. Once again..an example of how much Dr. Barnett and Judy care about their patients. CFC has two offices, the main office and the one in Lake Mary. There is a nurse at the main office, Alexia whose sole responsiblity it is to report INR (blood viscosity for those on Coumadin) . This is a good idea, as these results are crucial and can mean the difference between life and death., so whoever instituted this change in prior policy is to be commended. I highly recommend Dr. Barnett and he is responsible for saving my mother's life, so I am very grateful to him.
