Was in the ER at this hospital for the first time yesterday early AM. I've never been to an ER as…read morea patient, so I decided to check their services online beforehand because I actually have 3 hospitals nearby as options. Through the process I came across several sites that offer reviews. It was a little unsettling to read that ratings for this particular hospital were not so favorable, but I also remembered what a positive experience my daughter had there a couple years ago along with a successful surgery. I'm more than delighted to give my experience 5 *****!!!!! From the moment I walked in even before the sun arose, I was made to feel welcome, cared for and attended to by the greeting Security Guard, Admissions lady, Billing Admin lady, Dr. Natale (his last name means 'Christmas' :), RN Nurse, Brett; Anethesioligist, Glenn; to the x-Ray Tech lady! There's not a single thing they could have done better from my perspective. They were each like my 'angel team' for the hour(s :) and I wouldn't change a minute. I knew it was only right to add my experience to the mix of reviews for someone's sake that may be searching for the right place to trust such as I was. Maybe that 'someone' is YOU :) Godspeed!

Horrible patient care. I was in the ER with a blood clot after some prior surgery, where doctors…read moreand staff told me not to leave the wheelchair but others told me to get up to walk. Indeed, they took the wheelchair away while I was being tested for the extent of my problem. Supplies are lacking - I saw IV drips hung with tape on bathroom doors for lack of a proper stand. They laid mine on the bed until a red warning light and buzzer went off. After being admitted to the hospital, they made sure they had my normal meds listed - but they never administered them until I complained. But worst of all, I was told I was someone who would "never be happy" after waiting a day and a half for a cardiologist who was NEVER NOTIFIED that he was supposed to see me. When I asked the nursing staff to find out where he was and when he would be seeing me, they told me I was a "complainer", I should go back to my room and wait. "This is the way they system works." I spoke to the nursing manager, who suggested I leave after signing a discharge paper "against medical advice", meaning they absolved themselves of all responsibility and my insurance would deny coverage. I also demanded to see the staff doctor who never examined me but called for the cardiologist, and she gave more excuses BUT DID NOTHING. After ignoring my repeated requests, 23 hours later I insisted that the nurse call the cardiologist's office (while telling me how annoyed she was that I was bothering her while she had rounds to do) and it turned out that was the first and only time the cardiologist had been contacted! This is not just careless and indifferent. They actually accused me of bothering them for demanding that they find out why the cardiologist they supposedly called never came. And when he finally arrived more than a day and a half later and showed that his first call was the one I demanded from the complaining nurse, there was no apology. And there are little things, too: Patients are supposed to have a choice of meals, but no one ever gave me a menu or a choice. There is something called "SurgiTrak" that is supposed to provided notices of your progress to people you designate, but it has to be set up a week ahead of time and they only tell you about it when you enter the hospital. They require a pre-op test before admittance, but when I came for my appointment, they had no record of it. If you have a choice, go elsewhere for medical care.

It's Sunday and she's been here without her HEART medicine and without a doctor that can care for her for days. this is the third incident where this facility seems understaffed and or the staff seems disengaged until they realize it's serious... originally I was going to complain about how uncomfortable the fold out bed was, how none of the chargers worked or went to phones from this decade, or how there was no microwave or fridge for me to store my food in, or how when we first got here there a a " respiratory risk" for my sister and the sign on her door said we should be wearing masks / gowns and yet I had to go find someone to get me a mask before entering and once I was inside there was my nephew visiting his mom, maskless... The communication has been absolute worst between staff and us. I had to OVERHEAR her dietary restrictions between changing crew, although ppl saw me bringing her food. and then I was told I couldn't heat the food I brought us in the microwave bc of said risk... but it wasn't serious enough to follow the mask protocol... and she was here for her HEART not her lungs... The cafeteria is the absolute worst I've ever seen and yeah, I wish I'd trusted my gut and driven her to winter park or ORMC. I have never had a good experience at this place. please don't bring your loved ones here if it's serious ****update Still no echocardiogram. And the hospital is under a code red. No communication on how soon we can expect one, how many more days she'll be here ... AND they forgot to feed her this morning. Again the diagnosis was congestive heart failure and her RESTING HEART RATE is 167-175!!!! I'm begging them, if you don't have the staff/ ability to treat her just say that so we can go elsewhere. I'm literally packing up to head to Winnie Palmer now fingers crossed they're able to see her as quickly as they were my partner who I also had to pull out of advent health SOUTH and head to Winnie Palmer where they promptly saw and treated her . Update 10:28 am Sunday Someone, idk who this time, walked in, didn't introduce themselves say why they were there or anything and just rolled a machine in an said Amanda our nurse who has been very helpful would be in shortly.... This is a review of the administration of the hospital and how they are severely understaffed and undertrained on bedside manner and at least a SENSE of perceived urgency. That last part is nonexistent

Specialists include Breast Surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Urogynecology, Hematology, and Physical Therapy. Some other health related services coming soon are Heart Care, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, and Spine Care. I'm not one who loves going to the doctor or shifting my schedule around at work for a bunch of doctor appointments; however, I've had no issues working with staff to coordinate an appointment for my specific needs. What's really great about this location is that if your doctor orders up bloodwork during your visit, staff can perform the bloodwork on the first floor and they can usually get you in right away. The health park is very new and it is kept spotless. There is also a coffee shop on the first floor if you need a pick-me-up while you wait or on the go. Another great thing about this location is there is an emergency room right next to this building, so if you are having an emergency you don't have to go far. All-in-all, I recommend this new facility. If you are in need of any services noted above, this might be the place for you.

Every single person we encountered made us feel cared for, respected, supported, and genuinely loved. As a first-time mom, I had so many fears and questions, but this team exceeded every expectation I had. Heather, my first nurse, immediately made me feel comfortable and helped calm those first-day nerves. Kristen, the night charge nurse, was wonderful and helped ensure everything ran so smoothly. Taylor, my day nurse, deserves every award imaginable. She truly was my fairy godmother. She spent the entire day preparing me for birth, explaining every single thing she was doing, answering every question, and making me feel informed and empowered. She listened to every wish I had for my birth experience and did everything she could to make it happen. I never once felt like "just another patient"--I felt heard, respected, and advocated for. She was constantly by my side, so attentive, compassionate, and encouraging. I was genuinely heartbroken that her shift ended before my son was born because she had become such an important part of my birth experience. Colleen, my CRNA, was absolutely wonderful. Getting an epidural was one of the things I feared most, but she explained everything so thoroughly, talked me through every step, and made me feel completely at ease. She was incredibly personable, warm, and kind. What touched me the most was that after working a 24-hour shift, before heading home, she stopped by just to meet my son. That small gesture meant so much to me and perfectly reflects the type of people who work here. Dr. Bartlett was phenomenal during delivery. One of my biggest fears throughout pregnancy was tearing during birth, and she took such incredible care to help prevent that. She was calm, encouraging, confident, and made me feel completely safe during one of the biggest moments of my life. I couldn't have asked for a better physician to bring our son into the world. Brandy, my night nurse, is simply unforgettable. There truly aren't enough words to describe how much I adore her. She has the most amazing personality and is such a breath of fresh air. She somehow managed to make an overwhelming, emotional experience feel joyful, exciting, and even fun. Starting at 7 p.m., she was constantly repositioning me to help my son descend, encouraging me every step of the way, teaching me how to push and breathe effectively, making me laugh between contractions, advocating for me, listening carefully whenever I described what I was feeling, and adjusting everything based on my feedback. It is so obvious that she absolutely loves what she does, and because of that, she made one of the most important nights of my life unforgettable. Susan, who performed Luca's hearing test, was incredibly sweet and kind. Tracy, our postpartum day nurse, was amazing as she gave Luca his very first bath and patiently helped me begin my breastfeeding journey. Those first few days as new parents can be overwhelming, and she made us feel so much more confident. A huge thank you as well to Rebecca, the charge nurse, for helping everything run so smoothly, and to Kathleen and Suzanne at the front desk, who greeted us with kindness and warmth every time we walked through the doors. Every single person we encountered treated us like family rather than patients. They celebrated with us, comforted us, educated us, laughed with us, and helped make the birth of our son one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives. If you're looking for a hospital to deliver your baby, I cannot recommend Oviedo Medical Center highly enough. This team gave us memories we will cherish forever, and I will always be grateful for the incredible care we received. Thank you for helping bring our sweet Luca into the world so safely and lovingly. We will never forget you all.
