Accepted my Spinal Cord Stimulator case and I signed all document to o they were obtain my medical records. They contacted me 5 months later and wanted me to obtain the medical records and pay myself. They gave me 1 week to obtain them and have them in their office. When I questioned about the 45% they were charging and they became rude and ended my representation. After investigation, I found out they are not licensed in Arizona, where I live. Cheryl presents herself as this caring individual who would like to help you with your case. --This is far from the truth because she only accuses you of lying when she's the actual liar. What started off as a simple modification of an attendance zone, morphed into a circus of lies and deceit. Let's start with the modification. The originally attorney I hired basically did what she did. Took my money and did nothing. Cheryl talked a huge game. Even stating my passion for my children. What happens next. Well she starts lying and getting greedy like mostly all Family Law attorneys across Texas because family law in Texas is a racket and she 's just as culpable as the rest. She's not board certified by the way either. So what Cheryl decided to do was be bullied by opposing counsel and used this rack up billable hours under the guise that my first attorney filed the paperwork wrong and she could not fix it. Not only did she tell me this lie to my face. She was also having open and ongoing discussions with a former colleague of mine who referred me to her about my case stating the same thing, "I cannot modify his case" this is a lie because I did it on my own successfully by filing the proper forms. She would not. do that because there was no money in doing that for me. I am not her friend. or family and neither are you. She then decided to team up with opposing counsel and schedule a couple of depositions "FOR AN ATTENDANCE" (2) Six hour depositions charged at her hourly rate plus the rate of everyone in attendance. When I did not understand the need for this oh that's when her attitude changed. She actually became upset with me. because I was questioning the need and why this simple modification could not be simple. But if you ask any family law Attorney, "nothing is simple in law" yeah right. So she teamed with opposing counsel. Withheld information me. Then dropped me as a client because I was laid off and needed to head to a final job interview on the date of her "money grab" deposition that was not necessary. She even lied about the date and time of the withdrawal so the judge wouldn't hear about the ridiculous nonsense she was trying to pull off and attended court without me so the judge would not hear my testimony. Cheryl is scam, liar, and a fraud. She is not Family Law Board Certified and is only clever at racking up more legal expenses. She will charge you for countless emails that she will not include in her client file when she gets rid of you. So when you think about hiring, just know, that she lied to Black Single Fathers face. who was doing the best to take care of his kids and put them in a safer school. My son was assaulted at school. She did not file a TRO. I showed her proof of threats to the school. No TRO. She left me unrepresented to defend myself where I was jailed for simply trying to get my son into a safer school. This firm was used in a legal settlement against a drug company. The lawyers and staff were kind and helpful. However, I'm not sure how a calculation was completed as I received a lower award amount than expected, and then on top of that they took 75% of my award for legal and other fees. It has made me feel that my experience was diminished and they really didn't care about the people, they just care about the paycheck. read more

The attorneys and the managing partner of the Austin offices are useless. They got my sister to sign a contract and then stopped caring about her. They proceeded to do whatever they want against her wishes and requests. They are condescending, rude and tricky. We have since fired them and hired someone else for the same case. I'm not impressed. My job referred me to this place for a free consultation with a lawyer. Apparently, the consultation is only with a paralegal. The attorneys don't talk with you without an assistant or paralegal in the room. I had to insist on speaking with an attorney. I was told the attorneys were not available due to the holiday and weekend. After waiting five minutes the assistant was able to get an attorney in the room. I explained that I was looking for a property damage/personal injury attorney. The attorney stated he doesn't handle property damage and couldn't refer me to anyone that does. He told me I would pay the hourly rate and my discount through my job wasn't accepted. As a result, I declined to work with them. A week later I wanted to use another attorney, but she worked at this law firm. Jillian B. the legal assistant blocked me from hiring the attorney and was rude and hung up the phone on me. She blocked me because I declined to work with the other attorney. She kept telling me you said you didn't want to work with us. I contacted the CLF and entered a contract. I was told that they handled nursing home abuse and Covid 19 issued. I was excited to hear that, because my mother died of Covid 19 in the nursing home. The Carlson Firm seemed to be an advocate for the elderly. However, they held our case, nearly to the statute of limitations (2yrs.) to come to the conclusion that my mother had an underlying medical condition, besides Covid 19, and they could no longer pursue the case. I explained that my mother was expose to Covid by the nursing home, since the family was not allowed visits due to Covid 19. I feel that CLF handle the very case poorly, in addition to dropping the case right before the statute, (with little to no time to acquire another firm). In my opinion this was a form of abuse as well. I was very sorry for having trusted the Carlson Law Firm of Austin, Texas for the justice of my mother death. Simple modification order for child support. Hired and paid in February. It is now mid September. Other party owns his own business, and they still felt the need to ask the court to help serve him in "another way", because he wasn't returning their calls. I could have served him myself, it would have not taken 6 months. They have had his income documents for almost 4 months now. Still no completion. My child is special needs and already no longer qualifies for SSI because of income regulations. She also no longer qualifies for her Medicaid, and is at risk from loosing access to PT/OT and meditations. Not that this had made them move any faster. The lawyer, who I shall not name, seems more concerned with the the other parents wants and pushing their agenda. Not the needs of my child, and me as her caretaker. Somebody who not only ran from being served for 6 months but has also not been actively present in my child life for almost 5 years. His money has allowed him to avoid any repercussions and seems to be setting the tone yet again. I've never had to convey my child's needs so much to someone, and explain the disadvantage his intentional lack of concern and resources has left us in. Especially when I have paid you to be MY counsel and representative. Very unprofessional and discouraging to say the least. I don't have unlimited cash flow like other party. I'm a hard working RN but coming up with these lawyer fees took some time. I really thought it would get my child what she's been deserving in terms of equal care and responsibility. Finally hold the other parent accountable. It's bad enough we get no help from AG office when their self employed. I wish I would have read the reviews 5 years ago, at first everything was going good. Then they sent my husband to a knee doctor and the doctor sent my husband to get his blood work to make sure he was okay to do surgery on his knee. Well 9 months later my husband gets sick and dies. Well when he is knee was not healing we find out that he was sick from his liver and couldn't help him heal. He was too bad off. What makes me so angry is they insisted him to have the surgery in order for us to win the case. Isn't that why he got a blood test to check all that before he had surger? Now he is gone and still waiting but what the bombshell is that we were common law married and I couldnt receive his settlemention. They said Texas does not recognoses common law marriage. I agree with many of these posts. They do seem to care the FIRST time you talk to them and then that's it. I ended up dealing with 4 different people who all seemed to be incompetent. They are the worst Law Firm I have ever come in contact with. I went to see them about an accident and they told me I definitely had a case. After almost 2 years of gathering info for them etc. they called me in and said they couldn't get me a settlement. They also said I may be responsible for some bills that were incurred and that was NEVER explained to me. I wrote a letter to the owner expressing my frustration and dissatisfaction and didn't even get the courtesy of a return letter or call. I was directed to this Law Firm from a web page after I entered requested information regarding a fall I had at a storage facility resulting in a visit to St. Davids ER. I had and still do have painful injuries dismissed by this law firm. When I went by appointment to meet with the firm, I was shown to a conference room by a young lady who asked questions, made notes, gathered the information and left to consult with someone else who determined I do not have a case. Everytime I have had the unfortunate need to seek professional legal advice, never did I leave the appointment without directly speaking to the senior partner/owner of the law firm or an associate partner. Now I see the sudden daily commercials describing The Carlson Law firm as a family owned and caring firm. I guess "the family" screens incoming case prospects so "the family's" time is not wasted. Justice finally served, 5 years later and with almost $1 MILLION awarded My son was the victim of an assault at the hands of his trusted Sensi. He suffered medical and emotional pain. Even though with insurance company's they take forever. I got my car totaled but they paid for it in full cause I still owed the car lot. Then got $2000 for a downpayment on a new car. After a year I got $2300 for myself after all the payments for the Chiropractor and lawyer fees and paperwork. Yesenia and Tobias and everyone there where a lot of help. I should have checked these reviews. Right after signing the contract, they became different. We didn't get timely responses and many paper works were severely delayed. Also there were frequent changes in the personnel so that we have to explain the case over and over again. They kept giving words that they don't keep.
