I am also an alumnae, and am SO proud to be. The friendships and families I've made at GSL are lifelong. GSL rocks, truly. While we've been at GSL forever, the (new) Headmaster and Teachers are THE BEST. Truly the best environment for kids - great art, sports and music fully integrated as well. Once you come take a tour or visit, you'll understand!

BTW, his bullies parents were large donors. The only diversity at this school is the football team. Only the 8th grade team. Because there aren't enough students from the school to make a team, they BORROW BLACK BOYS from Binghamton to play for them. But check the yearbook! How many of these black boys are actually ALLOWED to attend this "white privileged" school. Let me answer that for you. "NONE"!!!! Please be aware of this school's criminal lack of diversity and how distant and non inclusive the minorities are treated from the students, teachers and especially the majority parents. It is easy to speak with wonderful views when you are a part of the majority and treated beautifully. But, WHAT ABOUT THE MINORITIES? Who will speak for them?? WILL YOU, THE MAJORITY GROUP steeped with your "RICH history" (code word= racism) and exclusive community???? Very rarely are the minorities invited to your dinner parties, neighborhood parties, kids Birthday parties, play dates, and let's not forget definitely NOT THE SLEEPOVERS!!! TOTAL EXCLUSION!!! Go on I'm waiting for just ONE brave person from the majority to speak to and for the minorities at this school about their SO CALLED WONDERFUL TREATMENT AND EXPERIENCE!!! ANXIOUSLY WAITING!

When we first started TLE, I would've given this place a 5+. It was not "perfect", but it mostly…read morehad everything on the checklist marked off. The staff was nice, they seemed to care about the children, there was structure in her classroom, and she enjoyed going. I was very transparent about my anxiousness surrounding my child going to a facility for the first time. The director at the time was completely transparent and understanding. Her teachers were very transparent and understanding as well. At the time, the only concern I had was the revolving doors of teachers in the preschool and up classrooms. Safety wise, the front door is locked and the door to get to the classrooms is locked and accessed with a key fob. After the new director arrived, there was an obvious change. The quality of the center decreased drastically. There was a lack of professionalism from management. My child reported to me that a teacher hit her and from reading the reviews, there is someone there that is hitting kids and still works there. The director did not care. She literally shrugged her shoulders and walked past me when I asked for a follow up stating that the girls asked the accused and she said she didn't do it. This was until I wrote an email. Soon after it seemed like everything that my child did was a problem. Every day or other day after that email, the director would tell me that she was doing things that was NOT unique to my child. She was doing what me and her dad observed other children was doing as well. It would be difficult for me to tell my child to stop doing things that others are doing at that age. I was never told the steps used to stop the behaviors except they would tell her to stop or had her in the office. I never saw another child in the office. And while she was in the office the director told her that she was keeping up all of that mess. That was inappropriate to say to a child her age. Also, I was never brought into the office to have a formal sit-down conversation for any resolutions, I was always told the bad, and never anything good about my child. I'd also like to point out that these behaviors are expected at this age but could be addressed and corrected with redirection or some kind of deterrent besides hitting her. I also realized that it mostly happened these behaviors happened more with a certain teacher. The teacher is nice, but I recognized that she was not equipped or trained to deal with these behaviors because at times, the entire class would be wild. It's disappointing because she loved going there. One day she told me that she didn't want to go there anymore, and that the director was mean toward her. I will never know exactly what was said or what happened, but I assured her that she will never have to step a foot on that property again. I originally put my child there for the structure and curriculum. I give this place 2 stars because the teachers are still nice for the most part. Otherwise, this place deserves 1 star for the lack of professionalism from management especially the director, decreased structure, pricing, and the revolving door of staff. If you want to send your child to overly priced babysitting service, then this is the place for you.

Please keep them coming as well as your questions about our experience. Know that we are more than disappointed, shocked, and confused about why we (and some of you) were singled out to receive such offenses. But, in the end, are thrilled that it pushed us into our current situation with FAR better and trustworthy care, where questions are answered with thoughtfulness and collaboration; lacking any harassment, condescension or bullying like we received at this facility from the director. I cannot speak to the services of the school, its teachers, staff or curriculum as we never made it past the nursery stage, which is where we were constantly told to "talk to Ms. Teri" and was when we would receive such abuse.
