Blue Tortilla Beef Enchiladas covered in Queso, fries and boracho beans.

Delicious, innovative menu in downtown Canadian, Texas The restaurant occupies a beautifully renovated red brick building. I loved my chicken fried smoked brisket stuffed Chile Rellano covered in a choice of four different sauces. The brisket was smoky and chopped fine. I tried green and red said sauces. Both were flavorful, but I liked green with the brisket . Hubs had the spicy ground beef filled blue corn tortilla enchiladas with the Queso sauce. His enchiladas were spicy and yummy. Make a special trip if necessary to try this delicious restaurant. Im getting the chicken fried Ribeye steak next time! The creamy, scrumptious bread pudding dessert was a great ending (and complimentary to boot) was one of the best meals had in a long time! Our server was always quick to fill our water glasses and attentive to our requests. Great service in a beautiful re.

I can't say enough about this place. It is my favorite place to eat in all of TX!! I travel for work here and I always go to eat at least twice here. The wait staff are amazing and the food is cooked to perfection each and every time. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. If you are passing through the panhandle of TX you need to detour through Canadian just for The Cattle Exchange.

    Chicken fried ribeye

Absolutely amazing food! We had the chicken, Fried ribeye, and the Chile Rellano and both were absolutely to die for! Highly recommend! D'Lisa what is an absolutely amazing server! She was very attentive and not over bearing. Can't wait to come back here!

We stopped at Mejia's Bakery while passing through town looking for a quick lunch. At first glance,…read morethe place almost looked closed--it's very unassuming from the outside and located in an older strip-style row of storefronts that gives off a bit of an old-west small-town vibe. Don't let that fool you though; once you step inside it's clear this is a very authentic Mexican spot. The interior is long and narrow. On the right side when you walk in there are bakery cases filled with a wide variety of traditional Mexican pastries and baked goods. On the left there's some seating and an ice cream area, and further toward the back there's a larger seating section that looks like it's used for their buffet (which we were told they offer on weekends). We visited on a Wednesday, so we ordered from the counter instead. The people working there were very friendly and welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable. I ended up ordering a cheese quesadilla with fries. The fries were actually excellent--crispy, salty, and exactly what you'd hope for. The quesadilla itself was okay. In fairness, this is clearly a place that specializes in more traditional Mexican dishes, and I probably didn't order the thing they're best known for. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food and pastries, this seems like a great local spot and it's definitely worth checking out. If your taste leans more toward American-style Mexican food, you might find the menu a little different than what you're used to. Overall, a friendly local bakery and restaurant with very fair prices and a lot of traditional options.

Flour tortillas fresh, hot and charred...delicious! We got some things from the bakery to take with us, can't wait to try them. They have a Buffett at lunch on certain days, so sorry we missed that. Decided on Hasty's as it was practically next door to our motel, The Irish Inn. We had burgers and…read moreonion rings and split the frito pie just to taste it because they are so rare to see on menus anymore and we love 'em. Burgers were really good! Onion rings were of the frozen variety, not bad but in a place like this hand dipped fresh would be so much better. The frito pie was yum! What was really impressive though is how friendly every employee we encountered was. Also super impressive were the young ladies working there, when not busy with customers, they were wiping things down *behind the counter, the drive thru window inside and outside) and just generally keeping the place nice. It has been a long, long time since I've seen this kind of detailed upkeep and busyness by workers in a service business. Great training by the owner and these young ladies will make wonderful employees as they move on to other careers because someone took the time to teach them how to be good employees.... compliments from a hiring manager of many young people who lack this kind of discipline and attention to detail.

No, just basic that you could find just about anywhere BUT! the service was great. Everyone was friendly, we got our food quickly even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. There's even a drive thru if you're in a hurry. I would recommend you try for yourself!

Tough to chew. The salsa that came with the chips was very mild and watery. But for the $20 price tag I had to swallow it down. Service was slightly better. The server was monotone. But she did her job. If I came back to this town I would go back to this place. I hope this was just a bad afternoon as I went around 230.

BAD Discrimination simply for an innocent complaint for a wrong order given to me…read more I ordered 2 orders of chilaquiles Mexicano. Got Eggs, beans, Rice for both. They had the order right on their end. I was thinking maybe I messed up- but no. They told me it would be comped. Weeks later- No compensation. Nothing. I paid $30 for something I could put on warmer for 5min. 4 eggs. Beans. Rice. $30. After being treated & costs for what I never ordered- They also- expected ME to drive 40 minutes from my job site to replace the order and PAY on top of it. Couldn't it be a free order some other day?? NO STARS. When I complained- I said 'aguachiles' (we all say the wrong thing sometimes) instead of chilaquiles. And the Family Del Sol said, 'Think you have the wrong place. We don't have that.' Giggled And hung up on me AGAIN. I strongly discourage any business like this. I never had a problem before. But maybe FIX - YOUR mistake?? 'No we're offering 10% off your next order...that's all we can do.' No it's not! It's eggs, beans, rice.. If that return is worth more to you than a good customer- I wonder on your sanity already. Not even common sense!! I've been in customer service & food over half my life. Ridiculous. And to be MORe than RUDE on top of it- when I had been nothing but polite. I even speak basic Spanish. I feel sorry for those that don't and go here. This family clearly has no idea how to run a business or treat people. But they continue to because it's a monopoly here- where else do you go? You want to be discriminated against- & laughed at behind your back- go here. I've heard 4 other terrible stories from people who live here. Just bringing up 'customer service in this town'... I don't even live here but have been for a long time working. These people are extremely rude & I can tell you- don't deserve business until changes in attitude are made. Yes it is definitely possible to be bitter against your own customers but I don't recommend it at all. Ironically- Don't bite the hand that feeds you..
