Very clean & trendy decor! I like to go on weeknights to watch the Rockets games. Plenty of TVs and it's usually slower, so the drinks keep coming at a quick pace! Karaoke nights are not my friend! Went in for happy hour tonight and ended up paying full price for drinks. I ordered some Shiner Bocks and was told they were NOT included in the happy hour domestic beer category when closing out. Instead they considered it a craft beer. I don't agree but I wish the bartender would have said something when I ordered, as I was still holding the happy hour menu he had just handed me. read more

Great chill atmosphere, plenty of seating, great service, and the drinks are fabulous. I asked for a margarita on the rocks and they made it with fresh lime juice. So good! The Cellar Bar is a pretty laid back, chilled type of bar. They used to have karaoke on Saturday's which is why we used to go. They have plenty of craft beers on tap as well as bottled. Cool place!! I found Cellar Bar on Yelp and based on the reviews, decided to try it out for my birthday get-together. Loved the fact that it had everything I was looking for -- full bar, karaoke, Wii, pool table, foosball, full bar, tv's -- in a nondescript (read, divey) atmosphere. Pours were generous, our group had a blast, and I don't think anyone accidentally on purpose walked into Diamond Club next door looking for Cellar. It's an OK bar with decent drink prices. Has darts, foosball, pool, some outside seating. Bathrooms are small and dirty. A couple of the bartenders are major douchebags, especially the young boy with brown hair. I don't know why some bartenders think they are so great; you serve other people drinks for a living......like a servant girl feeding Egyptian kings grapes thousands of years ago. I have been going to Cellar Bar for several months now. My friends and I absolutely love it. We came out for the karaoke, but have stayed because of the people and the great atmosphere. Ryan, the bartender, is as friendly as they come and has really made us feel welcome. All of the staff is nice. Todd, the karaoke DJ is great too. He is funny, entertaining, and has a great set up, and a fair rotation. Everyone who wants to participate gets to. There is always a good crowd on the weekends, and an assortment of ages too. They have drink and shot specials, karaoke, a big screen with Wii, and even a skeeball game! What is there to say about this casual local sports bar next to a basic strip club? I have actually had some halfway decent times at this bar. They have a pool table, which they don't seem to care too much about, because it's in shambles. Right behind the pool table there is this game, which I'm sure almost everyone has played at one time or another, where you punch the bag and it tells you your strength. I don't really have a problem with the game, but when people are constantly lining up to hit the bag during a pool game it can be very distracting. There is plenty of space in the bar for both games, is keeping those games as far away from each other as possible too much to ask? Perhaps so, but I wouldn't be giving the bar three stars for those details. What brought the bar below par for me was being mistreated by the bouncer. Paradise City by Guns N Roses was playing and I was singing, having an amazing time with my friend, and out of no where the bouncer (behind the bar at that time) told me I was an F'in idiot. That was the first thing he said. I let it roll off, and I even laughed about it. Then I continued singing, so he called me a D bag. All for having a good time. Then he came around the otherside of the bar and began threatening me physically. It was incredibly disappointing. I've only been to The Cellar Bar once, but I will definitely be going again soon. I found out about it through Yelp last Saturday -- I was looking for a good place to do and listen to karaoke, and after I read the reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not much of a bar person -- not since about, hmm, 1977 or so, anyway -- so I was a little nervous when I walked up to the door. After all, it was a Saturday night, I'm over 50, and I went alone. But the minute I walked through the door (BTW, the guy at the door was so friendly and welcoming), I started to feel at home despite all that. Like I said, I had come for the karaoke, and the KJ (Joel) is amazing! Very professional but also friendly (and an awesome singer, I found out a little later in the night!) Great mix of people, from young to even older than me (ha). And a lot of really good singers -- I really did enjoy listening. And even though I came in kind of late, I got the chance to sing several times. Joel, the KJ, really knows what he's doing, and he runs it really efficiently. I also loved that people were doing a really wide variety of music. The place had a casual, laid-back feel that I really dug. I found it easy to talk to people, and met quite a few really cool folks. I'm looking forward to going back. If I didn't live so far away, I probably would have gone back already! read more
