Respect and kindness [[HIGHLIGHT]]My mother in law was Admitted to The Center at Lowry right around the holidays, this was a very tough one, little did we know that everyone from the Driver that drove her from the hospital to the center, the ladies at the front desk that greeted all of us as we walk in to the unknown, The medical team and all the way to the beautiful cleaning ladies that took the time to chat with her wile the room was being clean, even the maintenance guy! That came to see a small bathroom issue took the time to make sure she was doing ok, The chef that made sure she understood the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our family has nothing but respect for everyone at the Center. They made us feel that she was in good hands everyday as we left the building. Her care team was AWSOME! But her Physical Therapy's that made her gain her confidence to walk again ware God send. The pt department is the only thing good about this place. 2nd day i was there drs wanting to change medication didn't have the insulin I use took me off of xarelto after getting blood clots going to hospital they put me on xarelto but when I went back to lowry snf switched it to more cheaper blood thinner when I was suppose to be on xarelto for 4 weeks 1 week at hospital had 3 weeks left and dr Cahill switched it to a cheaper one and lies about it said kaiser wanted the cheaper one even nurse lied to my wife on why they switched any how I was there for rehab had spinal cord surgery I was there 4 days and no pt played in bed 24 hrs had a cough with phylem my wife said I had pneumonia kept bugging me to tell dr so I did he called wife dr decided to send me to hospital where ct scan showed blood clots on both lungs 1 close to my heart so another 2 days I probly would of died and they all should no not to leave patient immobile 24 hrs one day let alone 4 went back to lowry snf now on blood thinner has to be taken 1 in morning and 12 hrs later think nurses gave me my meds when I was suppose to get them 10 o'clock at night [[HIGHLIGHT]]push button for help to go to bathroom came an hour later so they had to clean the mess couple nurses knew what they were doing but the majority had no clue[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Kaiser/ medicare pays for 21 days of pt so supposedly lowry discharged me when I was sent to hospital cause its 700.00 a day so when I went back there after my surgery I thought 21 days would start over but didn't find out that my 21 days ended july 6th and case worker came to my room a week after said I was approved for 7-10 days well another person came to my room on july 11th said my 21 days was up on july 6th a d my copay was 203.00 a day and I told her well brandy case worker had just told me I was approved for 7-10 days this person said yes you are approved but you have gone over 21 days so there's a copay plus for the 7- 10 days approved i told person brandy never told me anything about when 21 days was up or there's a copy for what I just got approved so when my wife found out on the 13th july she called brandy and asked her why she failed to tell me about 21 days was up and didn't tell why she didn't say got approved for more days but didn't tell me about copay brandy said we'll we can try to get it approved without copay wife told her she scamming patients by not telling when she knew and called her a lying bitch wife called me said she's comming to get me next day but discharge wasn't till the 14th wife said we were not paying for anymore days its going to be 1800.00 so I'm home and even though I liked the pt department I advise you DO NOT GO To This SNf care at lowry there's no pt on sat i guess and couple Sundays I didn't get ant pt the reason I was there to be able to walk get strength back but it felt like a nursing home so if when I get a bill for 9 days I need to get days I didn't get pt taken off so if you do go there and insurance only pays for x amount if days keep track and when they say you been approved for more days ask how much us going to cost me read more

Beware! Be diligent! Don't take their word! The facility is beautiful and clean. The rooms are a nice size. That's where the good ends. There were so many balls dropped while my father was there it's unbelievable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No one communicates to each other, the charting is inaccurate or doesn't occur at all. We had to repeat information to almost every shift. Had to fill out forms more than once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If we hadn't been present throughout my father's stay, he would have been written off completely. The mismanagement of patient care and lack of attention to the most basic detail is stunning. The planning for care after discharge, never happened.... we were told that should have started the day he was admitted. This has resulted in a series of calls and lack of the care continuum. I want to let people know that I have been really impressed and feel that the quality of care physical therapy and occupational therapy and housekeeping are top-notch. There is fantastic documentation for everything and my sister who is recovering from a total knee replacement is getting the very best Services helping her rehab a total knee after surgery. I have been there every day into the evening and so I am really happy with how wonderful this crew and rehab center is helping with rehabilitation. This place looks pretty but that is all it is. They put my family member in adult diaper and she never had ever been in one before. They come in and wipe her and make her feel stupid. The kaiser doctor who calls himself " Dr. Brian" should never be allowed to be a doctor to anyone. They left her in a wheelchair for 3 hours when she never used one before. She was in this dump for pulled muscles and supposed to get PT and OT. My family member used a walker. She didn't deserve an unexpected death over these uncaring " pig droppings" of a place called " the center at Lowry". Run for your life if you are told to come to here read more

Review of Center at Lowry My husband was at The Center at Lowry for 20 days recuperating from an illness. I want to say that the care offered by the Center exceeded our expectations. Entering the Center felt more like going into a nice hotel than a care center. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff was so amazing. Destiny and Trinity at the reception desk are two awesome women. Each day, they greeted me with a smile, and many times we shared a laugh, which helped prepare me for the long day ahead with my husband. They were such a pleasure to get to know, and by the time we left, we felt like we were leaving good friends[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. All of the nurses and CNAs were wonderful and very attentive and caring. We bonded with many, especially Maria and Crissa. They are caring people who went out of their way to help us with our every need. They are a huge asset to the Center, and we thank them for their professionalism and attentiveness. We won't ever forget them. The cleanliness of the Center was excellent, and we enjoyed the activities they offered, like the chair exercise class and the fun St. Pat's Day party put together by [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amanda. Amanda, our case worker and special person, was a great support for navigating my husband's discharge, and we appreciated her help and follow-up. She offered detailed instructions for all of our post-discharge needs[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Please research every rehab facility before placing your loved one there. I chose this facility based on reviews from Medicares website and it's absolutely false. My mom's care was absolutely horrible. she was left unattended, calls for assistance unanswered. The director is great and it's unfortunate that the staff I encountered gives the center a bad name. My mom's condition worsened due to no one taking the time to examine her properly and escalate medical issues. I would not recommend this facility at all. The food is absolutely horrendous. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. We had to buy and bring food in; otherwise my mom wouldn't eat. I was offered to be reimbursed, in which I did appreciate. I chose not to pursue this option because my mom wasn't the only one experiencing the bad food being served. To Stacey...You really tried to assist and resolve issues but It wouldn't be responsible not to inform people about the care my mom received. I hope that you weed out the bad ones and things improve. read more

I was in the middle of a very long review when it zapped out. Will try again! This place would have to improve substantially to be called HORRIBLE! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From day one, the staff was extremely rude and inconsiderate, waking me at 5:30 AM to review my med list and go over my treatment plan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I refused to do it then, she got very upset, and said she was at the end of her shift and wanted to go home, so it had to be done right then![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I wouldn't sign until I read it, she again got very upset, and raised her voice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The remaining nursing "staff" were temps, working a day at a time, so did not care. Most ESL[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I was supposed to get wound care twice daily. Each nurse interpreted the orders differently, so I had to make sure I got the care I was supposed to get. One nurse decided that she knew better than any doctor, and changed the orders. That then became a huge argument every time she worked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I complained, they did nothing. I was in a wheelchair, with a non weight bearing leg, but had to shower on my own if I didn't want several people in the room while I showered. Which I didn't. Then there was the issue of meals. You were given a menu daily for the next day. Unfortunately, what you ordered is not what you got. You got whatever they decided to give you. Many mornings of cold, dry English muffins or pancakes, which I did not order. Food was otherwise horrible. Therapy consisted of 20-30 minutes per day, with 2 therapists, OT and PT. 3 OT exercises, then 3 PT exercises. When I complained, I was told that I didn't need therapy. I was there for my non weight bearing leg[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So I spent 3 weeks, paying for therapy that I did not need, and did not get. Stay far far away from that place. You deserve much better!!! An addendum: Since my stay at the Center at Lowry for back surgery, I had knee surgery and was discharged to a different facility (not at Lowry). As far as nursing homes go, both the Center at Lowry and this other facility are rated by Medicare as "excellent". I totally disagree with Medicare's rating for either facility. Rather than go into detail, let me suggest Home Care. I know at least a couple companies who hire kind, competent people. In fact, the best care I received was given by a 19-year-old. She wanted the Home Care experience to see if she'd still want to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. She was not the only Home Care person who gave excellent care. There were others who were outstandingly excellent. Medicare did not help me pay for Home Care, but getting Home Care was well worth the expense. My rehabilitation at home was much faster. For one thing, at home, you are in familiar surroundings. You can take your medications as the doctor ordered and on time. The food prepared by my home care providers was better than food served at either the Center at Lowry or the other rehab/nursing home facility. You can go to the bathroom when you need to. You can sleep in peace and quiet. Your visitors can visit without having to hear the cries of other patients in distress. If you have pets, you and they can enjoy each other's company. The list can go on and on . . . . As for rehabilitation, Home HEALTH Care (which is covered by Medicare), can send the physical therapist, registered nurse and other medical personnel to your home. read more

My mom was here for almost 3 weeks. The dayshift crews were pretty good. I had a few issues with the one of the night crews. The nurse from this crew was female and the CNA was male. My mom had to wait almost an hour to get a response from using her call light, when he came to help, he was rough with her and didn't say much. When she told the nurse she scolded my mom saying he was an excellent CNA and she made my mom apologize to him!! I know a lot of these place's seem to be prone to infection, my mom ended up with pneumonia and a fierce UTI that seriously affected her kidneys. She ended up in the emergency room for 5 days. The PT, OT, and speech therapy here were wonderful! I had her discharged from the hospital to a different facility so she will be much closer to us as the main reason. But I did not like that she got 2 serious infections while there, and bed sores on her tailbone. read more

We felt as though they didn't want the responsibility of another person.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were put in a different room than we were supposed to be in. Patient name on door and paperwork was never right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ninety five percent of the staff was English as second language. They didn't understand our needs and we couldn't understand them. Very frustrating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to wash my husband's feet because he walked in his diarrhea. We were given menus to select from and never got what was ordered. The food was not on time and cold. Ghost staff over the weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A smile goes a long ways in a place like this but that never happened. Truly felt like the staff was only there for the paycheck. They acted like they were miserable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not sure if the problem starts or ends at the top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were to be discharged on a Tuesday morning and they would not accommodate us leaving Monday afternoon due to a storm coming in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hope to never have to make a choice to return. My family member has been in this facility for a while. They need to be more staffed. There are 14 patients to one person. My husband will be left to sit in his urine and feces until someone comes to help him. St. Joseph's is the hospital that sent him there. This is supposed to be a rehab center, not a prison. I have horror memories of this place!! They refused to acknowledge the septic shock symptoms that my husband had after we begged for help... They had infected his PICC line. His vital signs were all abnormally low and their response was that the machines weren't working and left. I stayed all night to watch and make sure he would continue to breathe. Numerous times I requested that we see and or talk to their doctor on call! They refused His evaluation at admission was; "up with the assist of one"... that deteriorated to more and more help including falling in the bathroom to putting him in a wheelchair with a lift! When I asked for a gurney to go to a doctor's appointment they refused! At that point I was desperate and with every one in the room I had them put him in the wheelchair-he was as stiff as a board. Got him to the doctor's office... he took one look at him and immediately sent him to the hospital... within a couple of hours with calling a CORE on him they had him in ICU for a week. His lumbar spinal surgery was infected, he had lost more mobility, developed cardiac problems from the infection. They even had us meet with the palliative care team because they thought we would lose him! I cannot say enough bad about the Whole Staff and the administration They did not respect us at all!!! It was so traumatic!! The doctors said "they tried to kill him" One Star is a stretch but they request that you have to choose a star and there wasn't a negative star to choose!!! read more

I was sent to the center at Lowery by Keizer Permanente, and the quality of both PT and OT.

Unfortunately, I must say that I agree with the reviews of Sylvester D, Kimber T, April W, Jen A, Timothy J, and Nicole R. Perhaps, if you are young, and able to get on by yourself, this would be an acceptable Rehab Facility. It is clean, new, looks great....to the visitor who stays for a 60 minute visit. But if you are not.....and only a "temporary resident": - Repsonse time. Imagine having to use the bathroom. You ring the bell. How long can you wait ? Try it at home, and see if a 7-25 minute wait time would be ok? For you? For your elderly parent? Not really! (and I have to say, response to urgency is quite lacking). But, perhaps is due to staffing? *see below on staffing..... -Medications: the staff didn't seem to communicate with each other enough to be able to locate the medication we had brought in that had to specifically refrigerated. There was a 7 day lapse period before that day nurse was able to locate it. Ok, I get it. Understaffing . It seems to exist everywhere from restaurants, to airlines, to hospitals, and beyond. We experienced the same ("lack of response time)" at a wonderful and prominent "Assisted Living Facility" (where I was told that staffing was based on a "software program that determined acuity"). When we rang the bell, we waited on average 15 minutes until someone showed up! So perhaps, we have to understand that this may be a more wide spread and common situation, and therefore, understand what we are dealing with . These places are not "personal nurse response system" where someone will be at a 2-3 minute response for bathroom or other needs. ( I guess that is what I thought of when I thought of "assisted"!) No. Even as much as I tried to have my Mother "anticipate " her bathroom needs and push the button 15 minutes in advance....it never resulted in an "satisfactory "response time. What every patient actually needs is an advocate! Caretaker! If that is unavailable, I can only say that the (lackluster) care we received at Lowry may actually be similar to other places ( we can only compare to Lincoln Center in LoneTree ) and the Assisted Living care we received at my parents Independent/Assisted/Memory Living Facility. I will say, we DID have a few staff who were fantastic, and my grateful thanks goes out tho them! It is not an easy nor glamorous job, but Thanks to whose who do it with a kind and generous heart! read more

The visitor process is ineffective. You have to call a day ahead to schedule which is fine but getting the scheduler to return your call is an act of God. Patients are allowed two visitors per day for 45 minutes, meaning you have to coordinate together to align with their policy. They also prevent visiting your loved one if other patients guests booked prior to getting a hold of the scheduler which clearly violates their one visit per day policy. Despite numerous escalations up the chain, very little progress. A family friend left 4+ messages on separate occasions and has not received a call back! I left several voicemails for the scheduler, spoke to the front desk several times, sent an email and finally received a call that took close to a week. The place is beautiful and my Father enjoys the food but would recommend not booking this place if you intend to visit your family member during their stay. read more

I was sent here , after a painful hip replacement, I heard positive things and negative, the po it's beautiful, negatI've language Barrier!!!!!, a young man was runn back and forth trying to take over a lot of people , if u like I did preferred not to have a young man cleaning u up , then u may be on the bed pan or bedside commode for a hour !!! ( I timed ) to see how long I was waiting to get help , there were a few people who were kind , the woman , I that fought hard to get my meds delivered, the 2 woman who cleaned me up were very kind !! the PT young women who after her planned time with me stayed a little longer , she knew I was so sick , showed she cared ,! I had to leave ! if u go make sure u know , there is not enough people working , though one nurse told me that had to let a few go , I said to myself u need to hire them back !!! , also language Barrilet!! read more

My mother has been in this center twice now, the first time we were referred and the second time we requested it, the Doctors, Nurses, CNA's, PT, OT and right down to housekeeping and food! They are all wonderful, loving and very good at what they do. The facility is very clean bright and welcoming! I would recommend this Center for all these reasons! read more

This facility doesn't even pay minimum wage to their nurses the first couple of weeks to their nurses. It's insane that we had to beg just to get paid minimum wage. They also had extreme pay cuts to their employees among many other issues with how they treat their staff. This company needs to seriously stop treating their nurses poorly before they lose them. We have already been through enough from COVID and understaffing. read more

Hello my name is RogerCotton admitted intolawry rehab in Dec of last year after a terrible motorcycle/semi aid ent indoctrinated.6weeks in hospital where I lost spleenruptchured pancreas broke ribs collapsed lug broken hip and also amputation of my left leg above knee after being in here only a few days I was mentally and spiritually ready for recovery with only one leg to wrkwith I didnt know at to think all the staff was overbearing in their concern for every patient and I let extra taken care of waiting on prosthetic I had pt 2times a week Whitehall I looked forward to doing cuz it was like my friend working out at the gym nothing like you'd think in physical theory the always asked my concern physically and mentally not like a doctor/patient but like family or a good friend who really cares past their job makes you at ease for wat your going thru so you're over correctly and in good time spans and they truly are happy to see you succeed I was here3months then had to be realeased I still was waitin onprostetic at that time sorta was sorry they couldn't work with my new leg but didn't matter to me I was so ready for getting it from them I couldn't have done without their help I hated to go but I've been back to visit several times just to thank the staff and all involved in my case I would recommend this establishment to anyone needing rehab not just physically but mentally they will have to ready to go on in lie after leaving here thank you all again andGod bless you all your past patient RogerCotton read more

I will definitely give this place a big, fat ZERO!!! Not all places that look nice and shiny are good places!! The staff are absolutely terrible. Do not answer call lights. I pushed my self to see how long it would take for SOMEONE to come and it was over 30 minutes!! 30 MINUTES!!!!! I am a Registered Nurse my self and my dad was there for Physical Therapy. I am appalled with the staff and they should be ashamed of themselves!!! They should treat EVERYONE there has one of their family members! I can't believe one of the doctors hasn't been sued yet. The Nurse Practitioner was great and CNA Judith was absolutely an angel. That is ALL I have to say about them!!! Shame on you!!! read more

One star because the facility was nice. Where do I start? Ok ! Let's start with the worst then. Cover all the other things. I talk or see my mother everyday, I chose this facility because it looked really nice. On November 28th. I called my mom like 5times with no answer or return phone calls. So I reached out to the center they stated she was sleeping, and tired. So I was concerned. Went to the center to check on her. She was lying in bed unresponsive ,and not waking up. I asked for a doctor there was no one available. They decided to change her Medicine however she couldn't even swallow the pill or a sip of water. Mind you she was like this all day. I ask if she went to the bathroom ,and they said no. I looked and they just put a diaper on her. I am filing a complaint with the state . The doctor did not call me till I had her taken to the ER where I was told if I left her over night she would have stopped breathing. Thank you Center of Lowry for trying to kill my mother. read more

If you love someone, never ever let them be admitted to The Center at Lowry. The graveyard nurses think they are running a prison. They are rude and worse, they are lazy. I reported several incidents. Every body listens, says they are going to look in to it immediately AND THEN, nothing happens. At least 3 times, I was told a social worker or case worker was there and then the line was picked up and I was told they were gone for the day. I wish I could leave work at 3:15 pm or 2:48 pm every day. Don't go here. Don't let anyone you care about go here. read more

I recommend going elsewhere. I was transferred to the Center At Lowry after a hospital stay and an broken hip (had to have a hip replacement) and broken foot. The place looks lovely, but functions terribly They have very poor staff at night and weekends. I could not walk on my own, so I needed to call for help to use the bathroom. The night staff quite often took 35 min's to 1 3\4 hours to get to me. I had 4 different CNA's try and talk me into using a diaper rather than coming in a timely manner! Horrible and insulting thing to do! They are clearly understaffed and have a lot of poor hiring and training. Also, I have food allergies and when the kitchen supervisor was not on call, the staff kept giving me food I was allergic to. Additionally, the bed broke and collapsed and it took me 2 day's to get their mechanic to replace it. The bathroom sink does not work if you are using a walker or wheelchair since it does not have full clearance under. I could not even brush my teeth using the sink. Also, the heat in my room broke, and it was close to 80 degrees in my room. They said it was not broken, that each room does not really have control of temperature as advertised. If your neighbors have their heat set high, hours defaults to very high. I would have given this 1 star, except I had a good physical therapists. read more

On November 13 my wife had a fall breaking her RT Leg and LT Foot. After surgery to repair both injuries she needed to wear two Tall Walking Cast Boots for 6-10 weeks and use a walker. This resulted in her needing rehab to learn how to navigate in the boots and function at home while wearing them and using a walker. The hospital supplied us the names of a few rehab facilities and after reviewing them we selected The Center at Lowry as our first choice. It was a new facility and it really stood out because of its newness. Once my wife was admitted there we quickly discovered newness was nice but the staff that provided the care for my wife was more important than just a nice facility. The Center at Lowry stood out well beyond all my and my wife's expectations not because of its newness but because of the Staff. From the moment you walk in the door of The Center at Lowry and receive a warm welcome at the front desk, to the nursing and therapy staffs, to the department heads an Executive Director and not to forget dietary and housekeeping you get the feeling that they care. The entire staff was not only professional and personable they cared for my wife's total wellbeing no matter how busy they were they took time to visit and provide emotional support in addition to fantastic medical and therapy care. After a fall, my 91 year old Mother was sent to this nightmare for "rehabilitation." After having been told numerous times that my Mother had been unable to take more than two steps on her own for 5 years having lived with osteoarthritis for decades, they repeatedly tried to get her walking despite her cries of pain. She was left in dirty diapers and waited several times over 2 hours for pain meds. Twice overnight. After we were able to rescue my Mother from this living hell, she passed away quietly at home under Hospice care 5 weeks later. It's a loathsome place. Amazing, thoughtful, attentive and caring staff. The rehabilitation team works very hard to ensure the patients are improving every day and are gaining the strength and confidence to become more independent. I would recommend this facility to any family or friend in need of a rehabilitation hospital or skilled nursing facility. read more

The Lowry Center has some strengths. Food is good-Physical Therapy Depart is Good, the physical plant is very nice. However, Nursing and Case Management are terrible. Part of the problem is my friend had Kaiser Insurance and that contributed to his awful care. My friend had had a stroke--paralyzed basically on his entire left side. The lowry Center left him in dirty diapers--failed to shower him until we jumped all over them and would leave him for hours in a wheel chair, because they didn't want to move him to the bed. This guy only weighs 143lbs. , we understand that he shouldn't be in bed all day but leaving him for 4 or 5 hours in a wheel chair is inhumane. We brushed our friends teeth and shaved him and we fed him his evening meal. This probably wouldn't have been done otherwise. If you don't have anything seriously wrong with you this place would be ok. The other problem was Kaiser. They took this guy off his med's for 6 days, so he could get a pacemaker. They should have done the pacemaker in 3 to 4 days on the 6 day he had a massive stroke. He spent 10 days at University Hospital which was fantastic, then moved to Lowry Center. Kaiser pushed him out after 16 days because they didn't want to pay. Now he goes to another facility and it's almost 10,000 per month out of pocket. Beware of Kaiser just because its cheaper its not a bargain--pay more and get better insurance Kaiser is good for you people and people with no health issues. Shame shame on Kaiser and the Lowry Center his life savings will go for his care and then some. Cindy W. read more
