There…read moreare a few staff members that are great, however overall I do not feel that Patient Care and Experience are important to the staff at this location. Two years ago three members of our family were given a new diagnosis that required some navigating of the health care system (laws, paperwork, additional appts, etc.) The staff at this facility is often unhelpful in aiding us with questions or navigating our care plan. They do not help patients understand processes, guidelines or care schedule. We've had lost paperwork, missed medications, and more. I've mentioned before that I do not understand our care plan, but no one offers to help talk through it or kindly and patiently explain things to me. I'm often met with curt responses and just dead-end "good luck with that" kind of attitude. I feel that the staff finds me difficult. Im sure. But I'm a mother advocating for my child, and when my healthcare team is not helping me help my child then I will continue to advocate for them. I don't think it's too much to ask for people to tell us if things are coming up due. I understand the staff have limitations and guidelines to follow. However, if you're the type of person looking for healthcare team who are ON YOUR SIDE, who advocate and look out for you, then this is not the facility for you. I've called the patient complaint department before and unfortunately not had any resolution. Another message left today. We will see.

I drive about an hour to see her because she's a great primary care provider for routine checkups as well as other medical concerns that come up. I didn't get the same sense of warmth with the NP I saw when Dr. Khan was unavailable though. The receptionists are always very friendly, great parking and the facility is updated and always clean. If you're looking to try out new provider, I highly recommend checking out the Deforest clinic!

Between my three kids we've been in 3 different children's hospitals and a non-pediatric one. Parking: you get a ticket for your vehicle. While it's a quite simple process it wasn't explained to me and the ticket machine wasn't very helpful in terms of "how to use." My teenager laughed at me when I fumbled and then finally used the call button for a kind soul to explain it to me. After that it made sense. I found my spot easily, it was also easy to follow the doors to the elevator and the floor I needed. Parking is validated so you don't need to pay if you have an appointment. Check in was smooth, luckily I had already filled out the new patient forms. I loved the decor and waiting rooms even though we didn't spend any time there as I didn't arrive early like I wanted to. Staff was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, my son's lab was taken in the office, so we didn't need to trudge anywhere else. The room we were in had a fun barnyard theme which my 5 year old adored. In comparison to the other hospitals this was a great experience. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable, the staff was friendly as well. I was very pleased and also set up our next two appointments while we were there.

You will not find a healthcare provider who takes you more seriously, tries every option until you find a solution or, honestly, is just fun to talk to! She's professional, super sweet and truly loves her job. We've had lots of trial and error but she never gives up. It gives patients something to look forward to because she assures you that there are always more options. The MAs are really lovely too and have a great sense of humor. It's a truly beautiful facility too, Kind checkout staff, decent billing experiences. Only recommendation is to get on the cancelation list because they are an in-demand clinic. The wait can be 6 months but if you're determined in calling or answering cancelation notices, I've gotten appointments moved up by 4-5 months. They're never openly annoyed with my calls!

What are some of the things that made the visit better. First of all, the preregistration and all the questions and forms that you fill out are done ahead of time online and on their phone app. When I got to the clinic, I scanned the QR code that was sent to me. Within minutes, an assistant placed a band with my name and number on my wrist and directed me to the second floor. After a very short wait, a nurse called my name, checked my wristband, and took me back to my room. Within a half hour, I was undressed, and the monitors placed IV started, and I was ready to head out to the procedure room. My doctor came into the room, asked me the usual doctor questions, and had me sign the consent form.

Had my scheduled colonoscopy procedure done yesterday at the Digestive Health Center. Due to my…read morefamilial history and prior personal results I am on the 3-5 year plan for colonoscopies. I've had about 6-7 prior colonoscopies using the monitored sedation method. All were relatively pleasant experiences including my two prior procedures also at this facility. Yesterday, a few minutes before I was wheeled into the room where the procedure was to be performed the physician checked in with me and explained that he would be using the "conscious sedation" method. I explained my trepidation with this form of sedation given past negative experiences I witnessed with my parents. The doctor stated that the conscious sedation would cause fewer issues after the procedure. I responded that I have never had any post-procedure issues with the monitored sedation. By his reaction, It was obvious that the decision had been made and that my input did not matter. I was wheeled in to the procedure room. What followed was the stuff of nightmares. Despite being dazed and unable to speak I was an unwilling (albeit mute) participant in the doctor's running commentary with the two nurses assisting him. I felt the insertion of the probe used for the procedure as well every push of the instrument as it proceeded further through the colon. To say that this was an uncomfortable experience would be an understatement. Adding to the unpleasantness is the fact that it felt downright humiliating. I am mostly troubled by the fact that I was given no input whatsoever in the form of sedation that was used. I am aware that there are medical considerations that factor in when a physician decides on how to sedate a patient. However, I informed the physician that I have had absolutely no adverse issues with the monitored sedation used during everyone of my other colonoscopies. The patient should be informed and have some input on what is being done during any medical intervention. The news of the sedation method to be used was presented to me at the last minute, almost as an afterthought. I believe that the ONLY times a doctor should unilaterally decide are: A) If the physician is paying for the procedure, or B) If it's their colon that is being explored. I strongly suspect that the physician's employer may be dictating the "conscious sedation" on it's practitioners. My doctor mentioned that prior to my afternoon appointment he had already done 11 procedures, and still had one more after mine. With "conscious sedation" there is no need for the recovery time usually associated with other sedation methods, so post-procedure patients can be ushered out the door a lot quicker. This would allow for one doctor to do many more procedures in a day thus increasing the clinic's profitability.

I feared that I was facing a stroke and could be paralized at any moment. When I was ushered to my room on the 7th floor I was greeted by nurses and staff who quickly and efficiently worked to prepare me for the many tests I would receive. Nurses were giving me assurance as I was stuck with needles and tubes that were taped to my arms. Discs were stuck my chest. Nursing staff and doctors asked questions and were patient to listen to what I had to say. I'm 82 and am not knowledgeable to the many medical terms used but found I didn't have to know. Medical teams worked for 2 days to get to the correct diagnosis and now I am happy to be back home with my family. Thank you, Saint Mary's Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin!

Beamsley was my third attempt at finding a primary care doctor who didn't make me want to strangle…read morethem. I'm in my mid-20s and have some medical issues that require management by a hematologist; I'm also a graduate student and very invested in my own care. Previous primary care docs had treated me like an idiot and given me info that I strongly suspected was erroneous. I tried Beamsley on the advice of another grad student (who is also, like me, female), and I am so glad I did. During my first physical, I mentioned that friends of mine in Missouri had been required to discontinue Depo Provera (the birth control shot) because physicians there told them that no one should be on it for than five years. Beamsley, who is also an ob-gyn (I see someone else for that), told me he had never heard anything about such a limit, but he would check the literature. I sort of assumed that was the end of it, but two days later, HE CALLED ME AT HOME to tell me that he had looked into it and found nothing in the medical journals about such a limit. He has always taken the time to answer any questions I've had and he obviously respects my intelligence. He's a little socially awkward, but not obnoxious or insensitive. I rarely like doctors even when I have to deal with them, but I like Beamsley a lot, and I feel lucky to have found such a good PC.

As for the earlier review about Dr. Beamsley issuing fake absences, I truly find that hard to believe. I hope that individual who made those accusations really look hard at themselves and realize he/she is really wrong about Dr. Beamsley.
