I don't mind waiting for my PC because he has a limited time allotted for each patient and emergencies happen. Counselors have 50 minutes for each patient, backups should not happen. I do not drive and sometimes need to use ride dupage to take me to and from appointments. They will not wait if I am late.

My husband and I went to see a counselor at this group for some marriage guidance. The first problem with this group is that is difficult to get a return phone call. I think it is ridiculous that I have to call more than twice in order to get information and make an appointment. Then, you never get to actually speak to the counselor. You only speak to the front desk. When trying to find a therapist to work with, one of the most important first steps is talk with them by phone to get an initial feel if they are someone you can work with. We went for our appointment and from the minute I entered the office, I was totally uncomfortable. You walk into this really small room that is crammed with generic doctor office waiting room chairs. You walk up to a window to talk to the receptionist. This is a very unwelcoming environment for a group of therapists who are supposed to provide emotional support. It was like being in a regular doctor's office waiting for the bad news to be delivered. I just couldn't take the cold, clinical feel of this place and so we chose to leave before our appointment.
