I had such a wonderful experience at this salon. Sharon gave my hair a trim and an helped add a wonderful ombré brown to blonde color. I will for sure be returning to get my hair done here again. Also I loved her approach to the "consultation" before hand. I've had lots of stylists flat out say "no, you shouldn't do this because blah blah blah" or "no you can't do that with your hair" period. I hate that. Sharon actually talked with me about what I wanted and how to achieve it and told me based on my own hair what it would look like in actuality. Love that! She also showed me how to properly curl my insanely thick and long hair without damaging it to a crisp. See what I mean? Awesome experience!! The salon itself is clean and cozy. Sharon is the best! I bleached my hair to get blonde for the summer and my hair was so damaged afterward. It was super dry and would constantly break and Sharon helped me get my hair back to healthy and shiny again. She's very knowledgable with haircare and knows how to style any type hair. I hired her to do my wedding and she did an amazing job. One of the girls have really thin and flat hair and she was able to style it to make it voluminous. Sharon Van Gessel - Has been doing my for approximately two years. In that time frame, I have experienced her being respectful to my needs. Sometimes I'm not able to sit in the styling chair for long periods of time, she will work with me to do an amazing reverse french braid. Then when my long hair dries, I undo the braid and have beautiful locks which allows my hairstyle to last longer. When I come in rushing from many commitments, I'm able to decompress in her chair from her patience upon my arrival. Sharon is an absolute professional and spectacular at what she does. She flew all the way to San Francisco to do my hair and make up for me and four other bridesmaids and it was probably one of the most fun parts of the wedding day for me. She came to the hotel right on time, and took the time to pin curl my hair because it's so fine and that would help hold the curls better. She took in all of my feedback every step of the way to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted for my special day. Originally during our trial we decided that I would put my hair up in a bun, but on the day of, I realized how much I love having my hair down and Sharon made sure it had tons of volume, which is so difficult to do since my hair is so fine and flat. It looked natural and full of movement. Sharon even took the time to help me find the perfect flower and greenery to put in my hair. I received so many compliments on my hair and make up throughout the event, and my hair held up the entire day from noon till 10pm!! My bridesmaids also looked amazing and Sharon put baby's breath in their hair which was such a nice touch. If you ever need someone for hair and make up for your special day, I would highly recommend Sharon! Sharon is a wonderful personality and really cares about improving people's lives through their image. It's totally clear from chatting with her. She loves a little no nonsense banter while she's cutting hair too. She's also the bomb.com when it comes to cuts. I got a great new cut from her which I still rock today (as well as my current barber can do it). The issue I had was that over the course of my time going to Sharon, I made 6 appointments and only got 3 haircuts. I really wanted to continue going there, but it just didn't make sense for me given the inconvenience of showing up at a time that Sharon didn't have on her calendar. I've never had this problem with a hair stylist before and continue not to have it with my current barber. I really wish I could have made it work here. Bottom Line: I would be so lucky to have Sharon cut my hair again, but only if I could be more patient with her missed appointments and last-minute time changes. read more

Sharon does a fabulous job with my hair, and my son (age 15). I go in frequently and completely enjoy each experience/visit. I have a short hair style, fast growing hair - so those darn gray roots are screamingly frequent. Most of my appointments are color only. And while the color and cut are great...her shampoo scalp massage is amazing! (Addicting, really.) An added plus - the shampoo bowl is comfortable! How rare is that! Sharon is a true delight, and the salon is darling! It's bright, cheerful, quiet and private with plenty of parking. (I use the side lot) My son has very thick, wavy red hair, a little frizzy, which he wears in a longer style. He is quiet, with little apparent interest in his own hair. Sharon asks him great questions, to pull him out of his shell to understand more about how he would like to wear his hair. Sharon has never once pushed hair products, but last time I specifically ask due to my son's frizzy hair. I'm so glad I did! I am one of those people that really thought shampoo is all the same. Wow-was I wrong. The product she recommended, and thankfully had in stock, is incredible. His hair is so much softer, less frizzy and easier for him to comb. (And this is a teenager folks) I recently arrived early for an appointment, as in part... I just enjoy being in her salon. She was applying makeup for a client; so her talents extend beyond what she can do for your hair. read more

She perfectly blends the skills of listening to what you want, with the application of years of experience and knowledge about what will work with your hair, face etc for the best result.
