Still all cash (ATM onsite). Still laid back feel. They have an interim menu right now while they get all their inspections but I had the brisket melt and it was amazing and my friend loved her grouper sandwich. Looks like the mixed drinks are now in plastic cups instead of styrofoam, but beer is still cheap. I still need to go back in the evening for some live music but just being able to be back on the river in between Ludlow and Bromley, feeling like I'm on vacation. Never change, LBYC! If you're looking for a chill afternoon or evening with plenty of people watching and the lull of being on the water, go directly to the club.

It's literally perfection; aesthetically it's fun but still well composed as any espresso martini should be; it's has the right balance of sweet & coffee, & all of the flavors really make it taste like you're drinking an espresso flavored s'more! The menu has been cut in half, the service is not as good as it used to be, the prices have increased, and they are no longer willing to make exceptions or modify most of the cocktails; even when asking for something simple like a replaced spirit for an up-charge or to accommodate allergies. It's been getting a little more "club" atmosphere recently. The music is louder, the clientele a little more rowdy. Maybe some prefer that, but we miss the elevated cocktail lounge it used to be.

They have completely transformed this space into something spectacular. If you had been to the original Buffalo Bar, I promise you this is completely different. They have fully renovated the entire space and smoking is no longer allowed. This is probably now one of the cleanest local pubs in the area. Large patio out back and they just put in a food kitchen with BBQ that was fantastic! Drink prices were completely reasonable and the bartenders were extremely friendly. They have a full bar and many beer options on draft, and also in bottles and cans. The only downside is the bathrooms were only renovated and not expanded, so it's extremely tight! They have parking in the back that does fill up fairly quickly, but you can just find free street parking on either side of the building. I will absolutely be back here next time I'm in Ludlow. But the actual experience felt bare and poorly-executed. Cheap. The rooms are very minimalist in design, are not soundproofed (can hear other rooms singing, not to mention the main club room), and the karaoke tech is TERRIBLE: The music defaults to weird keys, is randomly out-of-sync with on-screen lyrics, and the song library is so minimal (do not go to the Japan-themed karaoke bar and expect to karaoke any Japanese songs or anime titles). Add to that the removal of past elements like drinks being lowered through the ceiling and robot deliveries, plus a mandatory gratuity added to your room reservation fee (not just your drinks, which itself is sensible), and I can't help but feel Tokyo Kitty has gone out of their way to cheapen an experience (not the cost) that will eventually run out of one-time customers. Improvements I think could help: Karaoke client overhaul - install a system that works and has a broader selection of music. Probably get better microphones too. Automated drink order system - This is a rare business that actually NEEDS QR code mobile phone menu/ordering. Guests order drinks on their phones, and employees can deliver them as needed. Or, install the novelty drink-delivery system! Flipping a card in a window and waiting for someone to enter and try to juggle drink orders while customers are wailing into a mic is inefficient. Sound proof rooms - or sound dampening. If the hole in the ceiling is pointless to have anymore, get rid of it! Spruce up the place - a few graphic arts of some celebrities hung on the walls feels cheap and lazy (The mural of Eartha Kitt stays. It's so good and adds some real, actual character and warmth, but it's the ONLY thing.) Otherwise, add literally ANYTHING that says "You're in a place called 'Tokyo Kitty'!"
