For a small fee of $9, I got 15 weeks of lessons. For that price I signed up for 2 classes. The people that work there are kind and the people in the classes are nice and supportive also. I have learned a lot about collages and have been in 2 of the art exhibitions. A great place for seniors to get involved in different activities. Thanks to the staff at the Hannan Center from the janitor to the top administrators.

This museum has the largest collection of model Ts on display. Fun fact: there were actually two model As, and no model P for, well, I think obvious reasons. Not only is every model Ford built at the plant on display, but also competitor's vehicles of the time, including an electric car that Mrs. Ford is reported to have loved driving. There are many surprises I will not spoil. If you love cars, history, old architecture, and friendly knowledgeable tour guides, this is a must see place on a visit to Detroit. The Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc., aka the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, was organized in 2000 as a nonprofit to preserve the Plant & keep it from being demolished. It's a museum & education center offering special programs & events. There are weddings here on weekends. In 1996 it was dedicated & was placed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. We spent about 2 hrs here & looked out the window at how part of this factory was converted to apartments. Over 1,600 men worked here over 100 years ago manufacturing Fords. There are over 65 rare automobiles including Henry Ford's "Letter Cars," unique Model T conversion vehicles, and other antique cars manufactured in Milwaukee Junction. We visited Henry Ford's office and Secret Experimental Room where the Model T was created in 1908. We experienced one of the world's oldest surviving automotive plants through a guided tour led by museum docents.

I have done yearly work volunteer events here for the last 6 years. I don't mind setting up the…read moreevents here since it's closer to home. Much of the food is donated by local stores or restaurants. They get a ton of stuff into their warehouse. They always go through the daily protocol in the big conference room. You are to wear gloves and a hair cover and beard cover for those with facial hairs. Now you can add a face mask to the attire too. You start the event work around 9am and work until 11am to noon. The warehouse job is the hardest. I have sorted through some rough looking potatoes, to water logged and decrepit looking cucumbers and tomatoes. It makes you really appreciate the foods we can easily pick through at the grocery store to get the most appealing ones. Any sign of mold gets tossed. This is the hardest of the jobs, but also the most rewarding since it's labor intensive too. I have also had the pleasure of assembling sandwiches in the kitchen too, with wheat squares of bread, some meat like slices of pork meat of some sort and cheese too. Volunteering your time and energy is greatly rewarding and so helpful to those in need. This is a great center that gives back ro the community. At the end of your day, they will brief you on how many bags or boxes of food were boxed that day. It's the only day big the original big 3 OEMs groups can collaborate and work together side by side without any intellectual property issues too.

Volunteers come in and cook meals - dinner and some lunches - for the families who need to stay here to be close to their children who are in the Detroit Children's Hospital. Every staff member I met here was so kind. They have a great system where the families staying help clean as well. You are responsible for keeping your own room and bathroom clean as well as the kitchen, trash and other common areas. This really helps them keep the cost affordable for families in need. I strongly encourage anyone who is able to donate time, money, whatever you can really to do so to the RMH. They also save the tabs from the tops of soda cans to raise money and I definitely plan on saving mine to send to them. So Thank You RMH for caring about my family and providing a place to stay where we could be near my nephew in the DCH.

They've expanded their food distribution services including 35 new drive up mobile distribution centers, serving more than 10,500 people. It's a great resource for kids who are no longer getting regular meals at school, families that have a loss of income, seniors and more. Last year I took a tour of their main facility and was really impressed by the amount of work they do and resources they offer. In more....normal....times, they offer amazing programs like cooking and nutrition classes, mobile pantries that travel to senior living centers so they can easily "shop", and more.
