To react to one commenter's disappointment in taking in clothing to sell them and getting most of it rejected... Yes, it was a wake-up call for me that they didn't want most of my first child's baby clothes. I eventually learned what the store is looking for. No faded or missing tags. No worn edges. No faded colors. Absolutely no stains or tiny tears/holes. You have to fully inspect your clothing because they're going to do that too. If you bought your clothing used, and then used it too, it probably holds telltale signs of significant wear, stuff they notice that you are blind to. Imagine placing your kid's used shirt next to a new unused version of that same shirt and think about how they differ beyond wrinkles. LOTS of people bring stuff in, and the store can afford to be selective. Once I learned, it was easy to know what I should take to sell and what to donate to a thrift store. It's also possible you are bringing in great stuff, and they just have too much of that size or type of clothing at the moment, so they don't accept it. For example, it's a bad idea to try unloading shorts in autumn, or Christmas children's books in January. I used to have a section of my closet where I stored my kid clothes that I would take to Lots 4 Tots later in the year to match the season. The cash vs. credit issue is that cash is only given for name brand items because those items are guaranteed to sell. Store credit is offered for everything else. If, when they ask you "cash or credit" you say "cash" then they will automatically reject a lot of items they would have accepted if they could pay you in store credit. You can say "both" and you'll get cash for name brand stuff and store credit for everything else they want.

The selection is truly impressive, from literal Victorian clothing, to 1970's disco jumpsuits. My daughter found a gorgeous dress with a black tulle skirt and red satin rhinestone embellished sash for only ten bucks! But the real star of the show was the girl who worked there & I wish I'd gotten her name. She had short dark hair & was the sweetest, most wonderful young woman. She couldn't have known how much her kindness mattered, but it did. We have just moved here & my daughter is having a tough time, worrying about whether or not she'll fit in or be happy here. This salesperson was precisely the kind of person my daughter admires and we talked briefly about anime and video games and...maybe it didn't seem like much to her, but it meant a lot to us. With the current state of affairs, I have had to think twice when something breaks. To my surprise, each time something broke (like a dish, a lamp and other things), I went to Tailwaggers in Henderson Center and found exactly what I needed at a very low price. These days, I am trying to buy most items 2nd hand before paying outrageous prices in stores with all the heartless DT tariffs being passed onto us. Tailwaggers has a very nice man working there. Everyone was super nice and helpful whenever I have gone there to buy something. Many years ago, when my cat became missing (got out of the house right after a move), Sequoia Humane Society helped me find my kitty who managed to get out and then lost when a loud mower came unannounced. Then, it began pouring rain for three weeks straight. The nice man who found my then less than a year-old kitty crying under his back shed, lived only two blocks away. My kitty was shy. She would not come to anyone but me. The nice man had been feeding her sardines from a can and he called Sequoia Humane Society where I had also posted a flier with my phone number. I went to that man's house and he took me to his back yard shed, where baby cat was hiding. When she heard my voice, she came to me. We were so happy to be reunited. Baby cat wanted to be held in my arms for weeks after that. She had been missing for nearly a month. I split the donation I had posted on fliers between the Sequoia Humane Society and that nice man who took the time and effort to reunite us. This is the primary reason why I love Sequoia Humane Society and Tailwaggers so much that I donate all gently used and even new items, as I don't want to deal with Craig's list, etc. These days with money tight, I am shopping there frequently too.

I immediately placed the item and receipt in a bag and placed in my car intended to go return in that week but being a super busy full time working mom I forgot. Well I just remembered today so I went to return the item and I was a few days, literally, past their 45 day return policy. They were adamant that they do not make exceptions to their returning policy, they didn't offer me in store credit, nothing. I was so disgusted and upset I told them to keep it and I walked out without the item! I will not be returning there again! I loved the old navy we had previously inside the mall but this one is no good!!! What has happened to customer service?

Now after finding a coat I think I'll love the cashier was not overly friendly, but found out here on YELP there is some kind of membership program? ‍ Really sad service, there wasn't another customer in that part of the store?
