Lady at the register was extremely rude when going through a consignment process. I tried to either consign or donate. She was constantly rolling her eyes while looking through the merchandise and making groaning noises while doing so. I felt terrible for even bringing clothing in. Made comments about if I would bring winter clothes in, when it was actually winter, maybe she would consider. I took my clothes and donated them to Eco Groovy in Arcata. The people are very nice there and were willing to accept the huge bag of clothing, and entire bag of brand-new jeans for little girls with no issues what-so-ever, and didn't make me feel like a complete idiot for doing so! read more

Great selection and good location (right in town). I am partial to second hand stores and this one has a great selection of women and children's clothing (as well as kids toys) I was able to find some things for myself and the kids in my life and I didn't break the bank doing so. I raised my kids with clothing and toys from Lots 4 Tots. Now that my kids are teens, my daughter shops the adult clothing side of the store. To react to one commenter's disappointment in taking in clothing to sell them and getting most of it rejected... Yes, it was a wake-up call for me that they didn't want most of my first child's baby clothes. I eventually learned what the store is looking for. No faded or missing tags. No worn edges. No faded colors. Absolutely no stains or tiny tears/holes. You have to fully inspect your clothing because they're going to do that too. If you bought your clothing used, and then used it too, it probably holds telltale signs of significant wear, stuff they notice that you are blind to. Imagine placing your kid's used shirt next to a new unused version of that same shirt and think about how they differ beyond wrinkles. LOTS of people bring stuff in, and the store can afford to be selective. Once I learned, it was easy to know what I should take to sell and what to donate to a thrift store. It's also possible you are bringing in great stuff, and they just have too much of that size or type of clothing at the moment, so they don't accept it. For example, it's a bad idea to try unloading shorts in autumn, or Christmas children's books in January. I used to have a section of my closet where I stored my kid clothes that I would take to Lots 4 Tots later in the year to match the season. The cash vs. credit issue is that cash is only given for name brand items because those items are guaranteed to sell. Store credit is offered for everything else. If, when they ask you "cash or credit" you say "cash" then they will automatically reject a lot of items they would have accepted if they could pay you in store credit. You can say "both" and you'll get cash for name brand stuff and store credit for everything else they want. read more

They have horrible customer service. My personal experience was a feeling of belittlement. I submitted my clothes for consignment and she just offered store credit when I asked for cash she lowered the amount. Never come here. I know I never will. read more

Great place to find a Halloween costume or dress for a special night out. They will go through your clothes you no longer want and give you cash or store credit. Lots for tots sells a lot of true religion jeans, miss me jeans, lulu la roe leggings and nice winter jackets. Good place to get pre loved clothing. This is a tough review to write as I don't normally like to give negative reviews especially about local businesses. Last Sunday I went into Lots 4 Tots to drop off brand new baby merchandise after experiencing a pregnancy loss. I dropped the items off around 3:00pm an hour before the store closed at 4:00pm. I was given cash for three larger items and was told to come back after they had sorted through a large tote of smaller items (all brand new with tags). The employee told me this would take a few days. Going home that night I felt terrible for getting rid of the baby stuff and after a long discussion with my husband we decided to call them right at the store opening to buy back the three larger items and get back the tote since it wasn't likely that they had a chance to go through it yet. My husband offered to handle everything and we discussed making sure to get the employees a Starbucks card or something for their time. My husband called the next day and made arrangements to get the items back. We were so grateful with their willingness to work with us. This is where the story gets frustrating. When my husband got to the store to buy back/pick up the items he found out that an employee (the same employee who checked everything in) had taken a lot of the items from the tote home for herself. My question, as a consignment store how can you inventory items when your employee has taken first dibs and has taken most home? Especially considering the business had only been open one hour between the time we dropped everything off and went back to get it. It gets even more frustrating, this employee also told the owners that when I had brought the tote in that she assumed it was a "donation". That's a blatant lie as she had told me when I could come back (in a few days) once she had time to go through it to pick up a pay-out. The owners have been cooperative and we have gotten "most" of our stuff back. I have consigned with a number of other businesses and have never seen such unethical and disorganized business practices. They should consider inventorying items using a program such as MyResaleWeb and make sure to hire honest employees. The business idea is great and I hate to not support a local business but consignors beware. read more

I heard about this place from a friend and immediately went to check it out. For a consignment shop, the prices are awesome. Most of the women's tops I was looking at were $5.95 each, and some still had tags on them. I checked out a pair of Vans that were $14. I found a vintage(ish) leopard print purse for $4. Those prices probably mean that you won't get much in cash or store credit when you bring clothes in, so I think this place might be better for buyers than for sellers. Everything's really well-organized by size, the store is clean and the staff is friendly. They also have a good selection of maternity clothes and a big room full of kids stuff in the back. This would be a great place to trade in clothes as your kids grow out of them and pick up new items for cheap. read more

Brought my consignment here. The lady working was rude to me and barely looked at what I brought. She didn't even touch one of my bags. She took hardly anything despite me bringing a large number of high quality clothes. And it's not like they have high standards- I shopped while I was waiting and didn't see anything I liked, it all seemed like cheap Target clothes that were way over-priced. To top it off, she refused to give me cash and would only give me store credit, which I will never use, despite the fact that I was given the option of cash or credit when I called to schedule my appointment. Great selection of kids clothes, a must visit for parents, good selection for women and a terrible selection for men. They have nice spacious dressing rooms and fairly spacious shopping. Not sure how it is to drop clothes off, as I have only shopped there so far. They have a sign in the shop window "help wanted" and they need it!! read more

When I was a teenager and had just moved to Eureka with my big sister, this was the only place she could afford to buy me clothes. I got some of the cutest stuff, and I loved it!! I still love this place, but unfortunately they are not great if you want to sell or trade in your own used clothes. We have a 5-month old son and if you have kids, you know how fast they go through clothes. This place has a very large selection of kids and adult clothing. The space is nice and big and you could definitely spend a lot of time browsing in here. They also had adult accessories, plus cribs, swings and other medium sized baby items. Lots of toys, too. I haven't taken clothes to be purchased there yet, but their policy is to take all your things, sort through them, then call you back in a week and offer you a price for the ones they want. I've bought a ton of clothing for my daughter here I love the prices and the friendly costumer service. This is a buy trade and sell store so I went back a week later to sell some big items to the store like a brand new expensive walker and they tried to only give me 10 bucks for it and turn around and sell it for over 50 bucks I understand you have to make a profit but that was a complete rip off. The prices are very good most of the time, but the selection isn't that great. Very basic hand-me-downs for the family, but nothing special. I always see the same ol' clothes, but, I guess that's to be expected for a family thrift store. I have been a customer since 2000 when I moved to Eureka as a single parent going to HSU. I have had a continual/revolving credit with them since that time. i spend a lot of time rummaging through the endless racks at Lots 4 Tots, but i rarely find anything worth buying for myself. if you have a newborn, the selection is fantastic. however, the racks for 6-12 month sizes are pretty bare and typically out of season. i used to like this store more, but lately i am disappointed by their lack of quality products. read more

Bad customer service. Hate going in there! The ladies that work there are rude and short with me when I ask questions. Not sure why all the negativity but hope that they can clean up their attitudes. After spending my credit this time around I may not go back for a while. In addition, prices are outrageous! There was a costco jacket there today for 14.95 but costco just had a sale a week ago for the same jacket for 12.99. Why would I pay more for a used jacket when I can get one brand new for cheaper? Its like this with a lot of the clothing there. When dropping clothes off they treat it like it's a burden. And I stand there for a few minutes just waiting to be asked if I need help. When they finally ask it's usually after a sigh and an eye roll. As the owner of a business myself I just don't understand how having bad customer is a continued behavior.
