There was only one girl working, and as soon as my mom and I walked in, she greeted us warmly. She let us know about everything happening in the store, including a BOGO sale. My mom was interested in a skirt, and the clerk explained how she would style it (which my mom loved), even coming out from behind the counter to demonstrate. The level of hospitality she showed us was amazing - something that's hard to find these days, and we really appreciated it.

I've always felt like a lot of the clothes seemed super miniature and therefore have only bought probably one thing throughout the years, but have always appreciated their jewelry. This shop is located on the main strip of Broad Ripple and it's one of the few shops along the strip that isn't food-related. It's nice to have a few shops to browse in while with friends or exploring this area, so I hope it stays for a long time!

Meaning I am forever hitching up my pants. A-nnoying! A friend told me to check out the jeans at Torrid; and that, by the way, they had a buy 1 get one half off sale on jeans this week. Sold! I was excited as soon as I walked in to the store. The carry lots of things that are definitely my style or that I'd love to incorporate into my wardrobe. While I did feel their prices were a tad high on some things, my initial impression is that their clothes appear to be well made and with nice fabrics. I ultimately purchased 2 pairs of jeans, and found the prices to be reasonable for good jeans, $60-$70. I absolutely love the fit and the material feels sturdy yet soft. We'll see if I'm hitching up my pants at the end of the day and how they hold up after a few washings. Torrid carries sizes 10-30. However, I'm a 10-12, and found it a little hard to find things in my size. There were several tops that I would have purchased if they'd had them in my size. The one gal did say that they don't typically send them as many of those sizes. "Plus" size typically starts at 14 in most stores. I know I did question if they'd have my size when I heard about them. So maybe not as many women in those sizes know about Torrid yet? I know this curvy girl is intrigued! Also, I really LOVE their roomy fitting rooms with plush seats. The whole fitting room area is decorated really posh and swanky. My hubby was pretty comfortable while he waited. Really the topping on the cake for this store was the women working. All 3 were extremely helpful, and I barely had to leave the fitting room once they knew what I was after. They also helped me order items online that hadn't been available in my size and sent me off with some really great coupons. Having a great experience when shopping for clothing is always a great feeling. But awesome coupons are even better!

One lonely cashier had her hands full working the register. So we waited till a couple of ladies were done with their dressing rooms and took over before the door slammed shut. I generally like the merchandise here, but also learned that a lot of the colors here fade extremely in the was (yes, I followed the instructions). Really never put any colors purchased here with anything not of the very same color, unless you're looking to dye a few things. The ladies (now there were 2) were nice enough at the check out. When they asked who helped us, we did let them know that no one could be bothered. We did see a cluster of other employees standing around apparently having a little chat session... it's a rather frustrating scenario.

What I realized is that for plus sizes you have to shop online to find stuff. However, I have found loads of plus size items on the clearance racks in store both in Avon and Plainfield. I will say some of the sizes are way bigger than typical so you're always guessing whether you need to size up, size down or buy true to size. I've bought my size, larger and smaller with varying results. The staff in store have always been nice and friendly and will always let you know if you have credits to use.

He told me it wasn't free and I had to pay $20 for the appointment if I didn't want to rent or buy, WHICH IS FINE, it was my fault for reading misinformation, but the way I was treated when I told him what I read made me feel like I wasn't welcomed there. Again, it's my fault for not reading the right info but he didn't have to talk to me that way. I hope I never have to come back.

Plenty of employees to be found, which begs the question: Why couldn't any of them greet my partner and I? Yes, I'm a woman in a suit shop. It's 2033...I assure you, it's not that absurd for a woman to purchase a suit. Perhaps they profiled me because I was in my comfy clothing. Customers walked in after us and were greeted appropriately, even offered help. My partner and I were met with stares and employees chatting with each other. I probably would have bought the pants here that I liked (because they fit perfectly) but decided against it after giving it some thought. They also have a little jars of coffee beans out so when your nose is tired of smelling things, you can perk it right up with a couple sniffs. One thing everybody can use is the little scented sanitizers that you can attach to your purse and have at hand whenever needed. I work as a substitute teacher and I've noticed a lot of the staff restrooms at the schools as well as the classrooms have a slew of scented spray bottles out to freshen up the room once in a while. The girls and boys are. just going nuts over it--hint hint great teacher gift. I also noticed B&BW are carrying bars of soap and aftershave with great scents such as pine, leather, tobacco, gin, whiskey etc... just saying if you're ever having a bad day just stop by there and smell their sunshine or lemon candle and you might have a big smile in no time. I had a couple good memories come up when I smelled the strawberry lip scrub, which reminded me of my mom's garden and high school days all in one.
