My issue is with the front office. I have 6 year old triplets. Anytime, I have had to cancel appointments due to sickness, including Covid. I was apparently breaking an attendance policy, even though I would have my son do teletherapy, when it was possible. All of my absences were excused. Or 24 hour wait notice was given. I feel like there is no flexibility if you have scheduled changes to the set appointment time. We were given notice the afternoon before my son's next appointment that we could no longer come to the center because we broke the attendance policy.

This is not intended to come across as just a disgruntled employees review, but companies like this…read moremust be called out and held accountable for their actions. I urge both therapists and families to consider how this company treats the professionals who support their clients. My experience working with them ended abruptly and unprofessionally after moving across the country to take this position. I received a cold termination email with no prior conversation or warning--despite being told they had attempted to speak with me in person, which was absolutely not true. That email also casually informed me that my healthcare coverage would expire at the end of the month. How cruel and unprofessional. The lack of communication, transparency, and basic courtesy throughout the process was deeply disappointing. As someone who cares deeply about the work I do and the clients I serve, this experience made it clear that therapist well-being was not a priority. Companies that serve vulnerable populations should hold themselves to a higher standard--especially in how they treat the professionals doing the work on the ground. With frequent therapist turnover client relationships are surely to be impacted.

We have great insurance so I had no doubts it would be very expensive after the initial visit and I was sure they would warn me ahead of time if it was very pricey. When I got there we filled out paperwork, gave insurance info, and then had therapy. We LOVE the therapist Christina as she is very knowledgeable about what she does and how to help her patients. I would still be taking her if the financial situation of this office was any better. After the first visit we were told we were good to go so we scheduled again and left (assuming insurance took care of it since nobody talked to me about it). The second time after our visit with Christina (appts are about 45 mins) I was getting ready to leave and the office lady stopped me letting me know I owe almost $500 for both visits since I didn't pay last time. Ummm.. why was I not contacted ahead of time and why was prices not mentioned before beginning? Being someone who didn't just have the extra cash I had to put it on a credit card because they refused payment plans. I felt very upset I wasn't talked to about this and HAD to pay right then since no payments could be set up. I have personally worked up front in a medical office and before the patients appt has started I would have called the insurance or looked it up online and figured out what they will cover and discuss with the patient ASAP or at least discussed the possible prices before they went back to see the doctor. The office was nice and cozy, people were nice, just very bummed of the prices. I think payment plans should be accepted if this was going to be so pricey as this is a service to help our children excel and progress with development.

At the time, during my court order to attend outpatient treatment, I was not mentally or spiritually ready to commit my life to sobriety so once I graduated and got off probation I did go back into my darkness of addiction. It took me a year to claim my life back after witnessing my best friend die from the same disease that was slowly killing me. I reverted back to what Ascent taught me. Im so grateful to be celebrating my 6 months and attending school to become a social worker myself. I am responsible for my sobriety, not my family, not ascent or the court system. The support they offer is so magical and has worked years after I attended and I am forever grateful for this . THANK YOU ASCENT.
