A very interesting experience filled with fossils, old scrolls, memories and even scientists doing research on fossils as we observed! One of the most fascinating things about this museum is the fossilized foot prints of what would have been considered the earliest known humans. They were massive and are said to have stood over 8.5 feet tall. I've always wanted to know what made beings grow so large and tall back then? Anywho, see that along with the bones of some of the largest amphibious and land based beings were a sight to be see in fairytale books. read more

This is a must stop! We thoroughly enjoyed this museum. My husband and I could have honestly stayed there all day for a couple of days taking in all the information. Unfortunately, due to hungry kids we had to leave early as this was our last day in Glen Rose but we are planning to go back. It was an eye opening, brain stretching experience to say the least. It has made me do more reading and researching on my own and I've now come to realize just how much Old Earth theory is a ploy of satan and not factual science or fact. You really must take time to visit this and do some more research. read more

A wonderful museum and a must see for any Christian! It's a little small, but it took us a solid 90 minutes to go through the whole thing. They have a lab where you can talk to the people working on research, and it's extremely informative. Definitely worth checking out! I typically look up things on yelp before visiting them but I had no service out by the State Park. if I would've been able to see this was not exactly a museum about dinosaurs I wouldn't have even stopped... the dinosaur statue out front kinda tricks people in my opinion. The entire upstairs is all replicas of coins/ replicas of artifacts from Israel, Noah's ark, and 2 old cars. Down stairs to the left they have a small area with real (not replicas) of dinosaur fossils. The main lobby was full of bibles and other random things As a believer in evolution and people being around at the same time as dinosaurs I was not a fan. I Can see how this would be fun for people who believe in this theory tho. The giant footprint fossil was our favorite AND they had a small room with coloring sheets, puzzles and playdoh for tiny kids. Bottom line is whether you believe or not- I don't think it was worth 20 dollars. read more

Next time I'll coordinate better with the events at the museum. I knew there would be a time of lecture from a distinguished guest; however, I didn't realize it would be three hours in length. In simply wanting to look around, I didn't want to wait for the presentation's end in order to do so. This is definitely a learning lesson for when I'm in Glen Rose again. One of the many questions I ponder everyday on the gulf of Yelp is " How did we become to become?" Were we created by design, by a higher power? Or did we evolve from a lower primate into an elevated one? To me any real dialogue between "Creationism" and "Evolution" is nonexistent as proponents of both are entwined in an ideological tug of war; to undo each other. Recently when I visited the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas I left with more questions than I did answers. Normally the museum is open on Thursday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. I noticed online that they were offering an extension of days to accommodate Spring Breakers. Firstly I'm not sure as a consequence of time being sprung forward but they opened late. Which initially dampened my first impression of it. I did see another patron there, presumably earlier who lost their patience and left. Maybe the same Hidden Hand that pushed their Snooze Button ultimately opened the gate? I always(for the most part) enter a place with an open-mind and my Yelp Meter on. I'm not sure if I had expectations but the place was smaller than I had imagined. Even the parking lot was larger than the museum. No matter. I paid the six dollar admission and entered. It is two levels of artifacts that include prehistoric fossils, religious iconography and an impressive replica of Noah's Ark. Along the walls are displays offering Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution. And next to them biblical scriptures meant to dispel those theories. As a supplement to the experience a video is offered on the hour. It explains the mission of the founders with a detailed argument for "Creationism." While it was very informative I was still left with questions. Did dinosaurs coexist with man? Were the seven days that created the universe actually over the span of a millennium? Did prehistoric animals ride in Noah's Ark in the flood that destroyed the world? I did appreciate that it made me ponder things. However some sort of context for all items was missing. In my opinion the best possible way to do this is to expand the museum. I say this since some of the artifacts seemed like fillers. I wasn't sure how they fit into the grander scheme of the museum. For example there was: a replica of Johannes Gutenberg's Printing Press. A section dedicated to the Twelve Tribes of Israel. And even more confusing a statue of the Dallas Cowboy' s iconic coach Tom Landry. How do the addition of these items make the case for creationism? I'm not sure. In all fairness staff were walking around answering any questions you might have. I just think it would've been more helpful to have placards accompanying pieces, with some point of reference. I must admit out of all the artifacts the replica of Noah's Ark really stood out. Even though it was on a much smaller scale it made me consider its engineering, logistics. How long did it take to create such an enormous structure? Did it take generations? What about the nautical specifications? In the model there are two of every species including dinosaurs. Was there enough space for pterodactyls to fly about? How did they wrangle Tyrannosaurus Rex on board the Ark? Again I wish there were more accompanying resources to expand on displays, as well as theories. It's important to state that wherever you fall on the spectrum, whether you believe that the universe was created by design. Or is still evolving the museum facilitates a wonder. I just hope in the future it really considers expanding to include a better explanation of pieces, like the Ark. Is it worth a road trip to get here? That's really up to you. Science and faith are both powerful entities. If man supposedly coexisted with dinosaurs why can't these ideas as well? read more

This is not a big museum but ya can definitely learn a lot:) I love how they explain everything so well in a video you watch also the staff is very friendly! If you are in Glen Rose go ahead and check out this "museum" . I am always open to new ideas and experiences. This is a special place and you can make it a quick stop or stay awhile. It covers everyone from Noah to Tom Landry and Neil Armstrong to Donald Trump. The Ark is impressive craftsmanship. We missed The Finger so we may head back to Glen Rose to see it. Obviously, the people who set up this little shop right outside of Dinosaur Valley State Park spared no expense. There's a sign that looks handmade and a building that roughly resembles a double wide trailer crossed with a shed, which is probably fitting, since I imagine most of their clientele are very familiar with trailers. The premise of the museum is to prove intelligent design and that dinosaurs did not exist before humans--the two coexisted. Possibly hand-in-hand. Like on The Flintstones. The comedy here, again, is that this is set up right outside a state park where there are actual dinosaur prints--and the museum says there were human footprints, too. And there was some sort of cover up. As far as museums go, this is roughly on par with museums that "prove" that aliens landed and there was a government cover up. As far as unintentional comedy goes, this is pretty high on the list. read more

I have this place a whopping 4 stars for the comic relief. After a long drive I was really hoping to see what "evidence" and artifacts this place actually housed. Though this is the case, it was more of a laughing stock. More of a church than a science museum. The video is 50 minutes long but well worth the watch. The terrible editing, poor depictions of the artifacts around the museum, and the complete 360 degree switch from pseudoscience to religion. It was well worth the $6 for admission in my opinion, and I tried so hard not to blatantly laugh out loud the whole time I was there. You'd pay more at the local comedy club than for admission here. Absolutely hysterical. What really got me was not just the video but the artifacts discovered from Noah's Ark itself. When did they find the Ark? Also the case labeled "Artifacts from Noah's Ark", they must've rifled through Noah's pockets to retrieve these artifacts. Just about bust my balls over this. Hahaha. read more

While the theory of creationism is new to me, the place is well stocked with very interesting artifacts and unexplained anomalies, especially those human prints in stone. If someone does not believe in what they see there, at least be respectful and move on. The negative reviews of this place is not warranted. My second time there. I had to go back because I was confused on what I saw the first time. Not sure if I believe dinosaurs and humans living together or young earth but was still an interesting experience. The iron hammer in stone was highly interesting. This museum is great. Very informative and has some amazing fossils. It's sad those who refuse to believe have to be so mean spirited toward this museum. Evolution is a theory and creation deals with evidence. The chances of life starting from nothing and evolving into man is as probable as a cyclone in a junk yard building a fully functional jumbo jet. "Lucy" is a jaw bone and a tooth... yet this is what "smart" people believe... The problem is, evolutionists cannot accept that there is a God, so they will never believe despite fossils, prints, etc... Of course they'll call them fakes despite no proof any of these fossils are fake. All tests have proven the contrary. The fossil record does not support the theory of evolution, simple as that. This museum is a great place for anyone of faith or anyone with an open mind. I grew up in Glen Rose and have seen some of these fossils pulled out of the ground with my own two eyes. I grew up taking picnics to the park and seeing the dinosaur and human prints in the same layer of rock. I never knew it was such a big deal. read more

I cannot recommend this museum highly enough. I mean, I actually probably can't. But I will anyway. It's solid comedy gold. Gold, I say! The evidence for creationism consists of a few terribly dubious "fossils" showing human footprints alongside dinosaur tracks alongside a really long, boring video of an esteemed scientist who apparently discovered these fossils. Proof! There is also a "hyperbaric chamber" where "pre-flood conditions" are replicated in order to grow specimens that are passive and large, proving that before the flood, the earth was a peaceful place(?!) That's correct. I don't get it either. According to this highly scientific museum, the Grand Canyon was formed in a couple of days, and all fossils were formed during the great flood. You can't make this shit up. Oh, except I'm pretty sure you totally can. Priceless misinformation. Enjoy! read more

Okay, I am giving this 5 stars to this "museum" as an entertaining lark for anyone who- like most every scientist and thinking person on earth- believes in evolution and doesn't buy the museums conceit that man and dinosaur lived together. It is truly entertaining to see their examples of this -vaguely dinosaurish drawing on ancient pottery, a book they sold featured an Inca riding a dinosaur, etc. If I were grading it as an actual museum that is supposed to present facts in a pleasant informative way, well, Yelp doesn't have a negative scale does it? I'm not basing that on my disagreement with their ideology- the place is just a janky as hell and does not make their (crazy) point well at all. The jankiness adds to its appeal as a freak show but if you really are open to their line of reasoning, I'd be pissed that they presented it in such a haphazard, trashy fashion. Everything is randomly arranged, poorly labeled, featuring many rubber dinosaur heads surrounded by silk flowers and -inexplicably- a statue of Tom Landry. Another favorite is the random blown up picture of the world's tallest man next to his huge, moth ridden suit...again, with no captions. It's just too strange to pass up. read more

It was immensely disappointing to me as a Christian; not having any actual evidence of creation on display... the best they could do is question a few scientific hypothesis. Now I see this museum as a strong step in my journey towards the truth. It was worth the trip out there to be confronted by the lack of evidence for creation... then I was able to reason through what that meant. They had a nice selection for the amount of space they had. They should have people working there that can have a conversation with you about this topic. I, myself, am a Biblical Creationist, but not a Young Earth Creationist. One view, in my opinion can be a bit of a disservice, but their heart is in the right place, and are very friendly. What you will learn about are the vast flaws in Evolution, and the significant evidence for Creation. How we explain this ia a broad conversation, even given the narrative in Scripture. They have a nice selection of fossils, which alone is worth seeing...and how the magnetic tank worked was very interesting, as well. My husband, 11-yr. old son and I are going, for a second time, to this museum. All three of us are excited. We each enjoyed the entire visit the first time a couple of years ago. I am surprised at the negative remarks. Apparently the authors of such remarks had their mind made up before they came. But, I believe that, even if I were not a Christian, the displays of artifacts that had been found and are now exhibited would have made the visit well worthwhile. The pottery, jewelry, etc. that had been found in archaeological digs; the replica of Noah's ark, examples of how the bible has been passed down through the centuries were fascinating. The replica of the Gutenberg (sp?) press was of interest. Of course, the dinosaur information was of great interest to the young people in our group. (and to some of us "old" people, also.) It is only my opinion, but I would guess that at least SOME of the "ideas" that could be construed as theories by those who are dyed-in-the-wool critics of anything even resembling Christian belief, caused those critics to at least stop for a moment and think that there could be something there that sounded possible. So, some expression of irritation must be put out there to squelch any such thoughts. Thus, the resulting naysayer letters. Hmmmmm? read more

Pretty hilarious stuff here. Well, funny if you don't believe that Adam and Eve had a pet dinosaur, and Noah stuffed his Ark full of dinosaurs as well. The place was pretty small, everything seemed placed at random. Some stuff was just sitting out with no explanation, and plenty of stuff that didn't even have any association with the theme of the museum. Replicas of old scrolls and bibles, pictures of old Jerusalem, things like that. The people working there were very nice and helpful, though. I didn't go there to disrespect them openly, but I plan on seeing every creation museum I travel close to, and this is my first. It's in the middle of nowhere. Cheap admission, $5. Not a place I would ever go back to obviously, but was entertaining enough for me to drive 3hrs round trip. I say it's not a good place for kids because it tells them lies. read more

This is a great place to checkout. It is really eye opening. It is amazing what we are taught in school about how things came to be through evolution but in reality it is just hogwash. Its incredible to actually see the evidence preserved in the geological record & the remarkable exhibits (like human & dinosaur tracks intermingled- of humans & dinosaurs co-existing on the earth at the same time) there. My daughter & I actually walked to the river, while at the park & found more fossilized dinosaur tracks preserved there. We were also very nicely surprised at how much there was to do in the Glenrose/Granberry area! So worth the visit! We first found Dr. Carl Baugh's Creation Evidence Museum in 2000. Dr. Baugh and his wife worked hands-on to bring their decades of research and world travel to this site in Glen Rose, Texas, where land owners still find dinosaur footprints on their land - new discoveries always taking place. We took our young sons to see the museum, in trailers at the time, and Dr. Baugh took the time to tell us all that he was doing by God's grace to explain the fossil evidence he studied and excavated from a young-earth, Biblical-creationist worldview. When you see a rock with a human footprint and a dinosaur footprint side by side in the same rock, how could you possibly say they didn't step in this same blue clay at the same time sometime in the past.
