Had the most delightful lunch here with a new friend who introduced me to this gem. The space itself is a large converted house with multiple rooms to explore, each one a little different, but all with a cozy country Victorian charm that makes you want to settle into a corner and stay a while. We started with the strawberry lemonade, which was delicious, not overly sweet, with just enough fresh fruit pulp to make it unique and incredibly refreshing. Since we couldn't decide, we split two entrées: the Lovin' Onion croissant sandwich (savory) and the Chopped & Topped salad (a little on the sweeter side). The sandwich was soft and fresh, with the perfect salty tang from the pickles and a satisfying crunch from the fried onions. The salad was a bed mix of greens topped with chicken salad and chopped strawberries. Light and perfectly balanced. We cleaned our plates completely. The small slice of homemade carrot cake that came with the salad was such a lovely add after a lighter dish, and the chocolate-covered strawberries felt like the icing on the cake of an already wonderful meal. Loved every minute of it. The staff was incredibly kind, too. Already looking forward to coming back and enjoying the patio this spring. Definitely a new fave in Gallatin. read more

What a find!! Charming restaurant in Galatin away from the chaos of Nashville. The restaurant is an old renovated farm house with seating in every room. The staff is great and parking is ample. The lunch menu has a variety of salads and sandwiches, all fresh and each dish served with a chocolate covered strawberry. They had pretzel salad on the menu!!!! I have been coming to The Chocolate Covered Strawberry since their opening in the tiny house in Gallatin. I am so sad to say this is not the same as when they opened or even in the past couple of years. Today was disappointing from the very beginning. The hostess did not greet with the southern hospitality we are used to here in Tennessee. It was more business like and matter of fact. They used to have a cute little gift shop where I could purchase a gift or two, but they have done away with it. The special was "Lasagna Soup". There was so much grease in the soup that it made it unable to eat, not to mention I don't remember corn and Zucchini in Lasagna. I truly hope there is a way to bring back what it once was. Beautifully decorated and inviting, set in a little house back off the road in Gallatin, the Chocolate Coveted Strawberry is the perfect place for a ladies lunch or to grab a bite with a friend. The menu primarily consists of soup, sandwiches, salads, and sweet treats. My pizza sandwich was delicious with plenty of of meat and served with chips. I added the broccoli pasta salad and it was just delicious. I also love that a chocolate covered strawberry accompanied the meal. It was the perfect amount of sweet to end with. My wife has been telling me to check this place out for awhile now but since they are only open lunch hours it can be difficult to make time to do it. However, I just moved my business 4 minutes away at the first of this year so popping up for lunch is painless. I came here on a Monday around noon & it was very busy. Probably didn't help that was a holiday & schools were out. My party of 3 was seated immediately though. There were a lot of young kids here with their parents & the small seating room we were in was rocked throughout our meal by the shrill screams of one large family with about 3 children all under 7 from the looks of it. The tables closest to them had to be irked even more than we were. Despite this hindrance, the aesthetic of the place was southern chic & very cozy. After waiting a while we got our drink orders taken & then after another extended wait we were able to order our food. The wait to order drinks & food was much longer than the time it took to wait for the food. I tried their homemade strawberry lemonade which I would never normally get & it was pretty damn good. It was not overly sugary and tasted like straight crushed strawberries, light sugar & water. I chose the Cobb sandwich with one of the soups of the day (Alfredo). The sandwich was impressive & nice to look at as well. For what they charge here you definitely get a good value. The soup was good & unlike anything I can think to compare it to. Maybe like a thicker rich homemade chicken noodle but very creamy. On top of all of that you get a nice big chocolate dipped strawberry with your meal. Even though we were all full from our sandwiches & soups we chose to share a strawberry shortcake & it was EXCEPTIONAL. Without a doubt the best I've ever had. I can't explain how good but can only encourage you to try yourself. Everyone was nice here & the food was good. Went on a Friday at noon, they were busy but was seated quickly. It's a really amazing old house and property and that was the most astonishing part of this place. The mimosa choices were great and I got the blushing one which had some grenadine in it. Service was excellent but the food was all just food from a deli...it's definitely a bakery that wanted to have a lunch service so just got some turkey and ham, nothing special. Got the turkey BLT (+ cheese) and it was fine. The side they give you is a tiny bag of lays chips. The other person in my party had the quiche which she did enjoy. At the end of the meal I went to go get something from the "bakery" upfront to bring home and there was nothing there (they were open for 2.5 more hours) For the beauty of the building and the ambiance you would expect something a little more. Not planning on going back. 5 stars for the setting and service, 1 star for the food. read more

The ambience is incredibly charming. Little items for sale throughout. The dining rooms are in the back. I was immediately seated and helped during lunch. I am into trying new things lately and the waitress recommended the Chopped and Topped Salad. It came with a slice of moist and delicious carrot cake and a chocolate covered strawberry. Both incredible. The salad itself was just a mouth party. I shy away from "sweet" salads just seemed like it may overwhelm my senses. This salad was just wow! What an adorable little place! Stopped here with family while visiting from NY. There are so many little rooms and each has its own character. Think grandma's house meets Christmas ornament shop. Kasey was our waitress and she was attentive and nice. I asked her opinion on two sandwiches and she gave me a great description of each that helped me decide what to order. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with apple butter -- asked for whole grain bread instead of the croissant. I absolutely adored my stop at this cute cafe. They offered light bites, and it was clear that the ingredients were very fresh. I got a croissant chicken salad sandwich plate. It came with a bag of potato chips, and their signature chocolate covered strawberry. It was such a sweet treat to find on my plate. The service was great, so kind and attentive. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry was my wife's first choice for her special birthday. I knew ahead of time it's a "girly restaurant" with girly menu items. But I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, inventive menu, a wide choice of salads, and fresh ingredients including a few grilled items for people like me. I chose a grilled Italian Muffuletta sandwich with side Caesar Salad and a glass of house wine. At the end of the meal, we were served complimentary chocolate covered strawberries...nice touch. BTW, the website address is for sale...and so doesn't work. Odd. But the place is open for lunch 6 days a week, serving 11 am to 3 pm. Small gripe: No draught beer, but I guess that's in keeping with the restaurant's target clientele. Tip: The smaller room we were in was loud when full. I suggest next time one of the larger rooms. I used to go to the Chocolate Covered Strawberry several years ago on special occasions for lunch with friends. I went twice in the past couple of weeks and find that it has changed. The noise level is now extremely high. It seems that there must have been either fewer tables or there were carpets on the floor in the past. Also, there used to be china and utensils that were different at each table and I think I remember table cloths that were cute and quaint. The menu and the food seems to be about the same, and that is the best part. I love the monte cristo. My friend enjoyed the quiche. But the noise is a big disappointment. They don't seem to have the ability to make food to order. Which is odd. Makes me wonder when it was the food made. If I want to know what's in something or can you leave "this" out and put "that" in a dish the cook, I don't say chef for many reasons, should be able to adjust. The place is cute, but cute doesn't serve well or give a delightful taste. I won't be back. There are better places to go to with people who like their job. Too bad this place isn't worth it. Quaint little place with an eclectic menu. Not your average everyday fare. I had the Pop-eye which was a turkey sandwich with spinach dip spread & cucumber on pumpernickel bread along with loaded potato soup. The soup was really good. Creamy with just the right amount of potatoes. The sandwich could have had a bit more spinach dip spread but the portion of turkey was very generous. The menu had several things that looked good so I'll have to go back and try some others. The only disappointing thing was the chips that came with the sandwich were regular old Lays chips in a bag. You'd think a place like this that prides itself on fresh ingredients and unusual flavor combinations would have their own house made chips or some alternative to chips. When you walk in you see tons of cute gifts, decor, toys to purchase. Walkthrough​ you come to a bigger area where you can start smelling the aroma of chocolate​ ​is​ melted, that scent stays the whole time you are eating! When you sit there are tons of seating, from big family tables to intimate two-person​ tables. There is a huge menu to choose from and each dish comes with a soup or salad with a bag of lays chips AND the staple: chocolate-covered​ strawberry. During lunch hours it gets​ pretty loud but once the lunch rush fades you can actually hear yourself think. They have amazing fruit tea, and of course yummy chocolate strawberries​. This cafe has a really charming vibe in an area that needs its! Makes you think of a hallmark movie since it's an old home turned cafe. One of the rooms has a wall of windows which would be perfect on a sunny day to just look out. Parking is convenient and there was no wait for a table for 2 on a Thursday at 12:30! This place is pretty big and table sizes range from 2 to larger groups. Service was attentive and fast. I ordered a salad trio with chicken salad, egg salad, strawberry pretzel salad, and chicken tortilla soup as my side. Let's start with the egg salad - I love a great egg salad and this one did not disappoint. The eggs were chopped into medium large pieces, which I loved. It was really like chopped up stuffed eggs on a plate. Very delicious! The chicken salad was good, but not my favorite. I like a more creamy base chicken salad but this was good and i'm sure it is a best seller. The chicken tortilla soup was the best I have ever had. The seasoning was perfect and they top it with a dollop of cream cheese (I believe)....it was delicious and I regretted not taking a bowl to go for dinner that night. The strawberry pretzel salad was delicious. All plates come with a chocolate covered strawberry as well. This lovely lunch boutique is near my house and I enjoy bringing out of town visitors here. It's the perfect place for a girls lunch! The restaurant is in an old home full of charm. In addition to the multiple rooms filled with trinkets and tables, there is an outdoor patio for seating on nice days. The menu includes an abundance of sandwiches and salads. The egg salad is consistently yummy. Green salads are fresh and accompanied by homemade dressings. There are usually 1 or 2 soups of the day too. My favorite thing is the trio sampler because it allows me to taste a variety of their specialties. Homemade dessert options are also available. They offer seasonal beverages both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. All meals include a decadent chocolate covered strawberry to complete the experience. Every time I visit, the service is good. I cannot tell you how many times I've driven past this place and have said "oh I should really go in there someday" we'll thankfully I finally did. Walking up to this very quaint house looking restaurant I had no clue what to expect. The inside is WAY bigger than what you originally think looking at the outside of the building. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was fantastic and super helpful in giving us some food suggestions. I would have never thought to pair apple hummus with a croissant, cucumber and turkey but it was delicious. I think I may have found my new sandwich combination. The Monte Cristo was on a waffle that looked to be panini pressed which was really delicious as well. For dessert we got a to go white chocolate cheese cake which was super creamy and had the perfect ratio of strawberries/chocolate drizzle to cheese cake.
