Additionally, we have purchased products for our friends and family. We have family members that ordered meats several times a year for the last 5+ years. The aroma was strong. When cooking the meats, the house smelled like a smokehouse to the point we had to open the windows. It was a wonderful, memorable experience each time. In the last three years, the Smokey smell we all loved has completely disappeared. Opening new packages of hillbilly bacon and regular bacon, there is no perceptible smell of the meat ever having been smoked - not even while cooking. Our friends and family have ALL complained about the missing smoked flavor. One complete order for a family member was returned because there was no smoke smell. The order was replaced the next day. Not knowing these replacements were the same, they were sent as gifts. The comments from friends and family members were embarrassing. The last order, from same family member, was packed in clear sealed bags. In some of the packages, the top and bottom pieces looked nice but some were stuffed in between with scrap cuts that we considered trash just to fill the weight. We discussed the change in product quality with the business. We were told they have changed to an electric smoker from a hand-fed wood smoker. We have, and will continue to purchase filets from them as they are second to none, except for one that was very gristly. Put the steaks on the grill and you'll never buy a steak in a restaurant again. We want to support Hatfield's because we loved the meats, and Piper, a precious person, has always made our experiences a pleasure. It's sad for us to see this happening to the business because we enjoyed the relationship as much as the meat. The next time we walk in and smell the wonderful smell of the past, we'll write another review giving the praise they so deserve for their fantastic products.

The restaurant has plenty of seating inside, creating a cozy vibe for enjoying your food, plus there are easy to-go options for those on the run. We can't wait to go back for those amazing million-dollar pickles and a bunch of delicious Amish baked goods that are simply unforgettable. The homemade blackberry pie paired perfectly with our homemade ice cream at the lake. On our last visit, we treated ourselves to a freshly made chicken quesadilla that was loaded with flavor and paired perfectly with some zesty salsa. The chicken wrap was just as good, packed with juicy grilled chicken, crunchy veggies, and a tasty sauce, making it a meal we couldn't get enough of. So much better than fast food options and supporting local!

The tenderloin sandwich well executed with a seasoned crispy breading covering a pork loin slice pounded out to 1/4" thickness about twice the size of the bun. That's consistent with the standard in this area, first done by the Smith family of Smith's Restaurant now 5 or 6 miles South on Hwy 13. The fries were absolutely perfect, fries to order, sprinkled with a seasoning that's really very good. Don't skip the fries!
