I always try to eat local during my trips; so, i asked a local colleague for some ideas. He suggested Drop the H, which offers craft beer and craft pizza. Upon entering, I saw a sign that read: "Find your seat." I sat down and waited for a few minutes. Soon, a waiter came over, and since i was ordering takeout, i ordered a soda and two pizzas, no beer. It wasn't long until i received my order. The meat-lovers pizza was good, but the New Yorker wasn't so great--bland sauce. Not worth the price that I paid. If anything, their craft beer is likely their primary focus, because the pizza wasn't. As for the restaurant, it was spacious and clean. read more

What a fun place to try. We were early and didn't have huge appetites so we just got salad and pretzel bites. The beer cheese dip was divine and the Cobb salad was quite nicely done. My husband got a dark stout and really enjoyed it Next time we'll come hungrier and get pizza. Great service. Nice clean establishment. We will absolutely return. read more

Picked up my boys to grab dinner before going to the movie. They wanted pizza and told me about this place. It's not real easy to see from the main road but we found it and went inside to make an order. Very nice place. Great atmosphere. We set in the booth and looked through the options for pizza. We started with the Parm Poppers. Parmesan cheese over bread bites covered in a garlic olive oil mix. Yes! Very delicious. We decided to order two large pizzas which was way more than we could eat. We ordered a Drop the Piggy and the Res Pepper Supreme. Both equally is good. I would have a hard time picking which one I liked better. I also have their signature margarita towards very good as well. No complaints, great place with great food and great service. What is there not to love? read more

This is a really cute brewery/pizza place. They have a huge bar area and lots of seating (including a couple rooms for private gatherings). We ordered the margherita pizza and flights of beer. I got one flight with four unique beers and my husband got another so that we could try as many of their beers as possible. Very generous pours for the flights. Stand out beers for us were the Balkan Haze and the Dorada Pampeana. Both were excellent. The pizza was so good. We devoured it and considered ordering another one. Service was great. We were some of the first people there and our server was super knowledgeable about the beers and the menu. If we lived locally we would eat here all the time. read more

Since moving here in May, the service has always been poor. Tonight took the cake. After our order being in for 40+ min, we were told, our pizza would be out in 10. Then, proceeded to watch 3 tables that came in 30-40 min after we did, get their food before us.We ordered one pizza, and one table that came in way after we had, got 2 pizzas and an app. I ordered a second beer and after 20 min of no beer in sight, the waitress said "Let me check on that beer" which I proceeded to say, I would no longer need it. Get the ticket, dont look at the items, assuming it was correct and by my fault, the second beer was present and I paid already. So now I wait 3-4 days to get refunded and pay for the now fixed ticket. This isn't new. Service is usually bad due to being understaffed but tonight, they had plenty of staff and still dropped the ball. I know how it goes working in the food business, did it for 6 years as a cook in a place with more seating than Drop holds. With that said, the venue is cool, the beer is okay for a brewery and the pizza is really good. Service needs a revamp. read more

We decided to make a day checking out the new breweries in town and have to say I was really impressed when I walked in! They have invested a lot of money into this business and it is obvious. We really liked the many wood fire pizza options and I have to say I will definitely be back not only for the great beer and tasty pizza....but quite frankly, they had me as soon as I saw they had TWO charcuterie boards!! I LOVE sitting down with friends and sharing a meat, cheese, olives, fruit and cracker board. (Or not sharing too...) Many places do not offer them at all, let alone 2 options! My friends made fun of me for being this excited, but some will appreciate it as well. My favorite beer was their IPA and we shared the roasted red pepper pizza which was super good. Drop the H is worth dropping in! We stopped in Pittsburg road tripping from Kansas City to Bentonville, Arkansas and this brewery is awesome!! When we read the owners backgrounds, we were intrigued and are so glad we made the time to stop. Garrett was our server and what a guy... so hospitable, welcoming and took great care of us. And his recommendation for brews & pizzas - delicious! Great portion sizes for the price and the hot honey pizza was to die for!! Luckily this place was open the last day we were in town, as they have a day or two they aren't open. We ate in the summer, during early evening so things could be different later at night and when school is in session. Very clean inside. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and beverage were all good. My only negative would be parking. Side lot was okay. Parking on the street looked congested and I wouldn't park there if I were dining here in the evening. read more

Always out of something except pizza. Have never been able to try the garlic knots or the pretzel bites because they are always out of them. My husband and I have been here about 10 times since they opened in October of 2019. The service is often slow, but not horrible. It does get pretty busy and loud, even on week nights. As a craft beer lover, I was not impressed with any of their beer. They taste watered down/have no flavor. However, my husband and I enjoy the pizza! read more

What a nice discovery. We drove 25 miles west to Drop The H for my birthday dinner, and honestly, we can't wait to return. While disappointed with the pizza (easily less then 2oz of meat on my pizza), the taste was good and the flight of brews was excellent, ice cold, and diverse. My wife loved her choice of wine. The ambiance was a delightful surprise. The waitstaff was warm and friendly, but no manager was apparent while we were there. We look forward to returning. Possibly the best pizza crust I ever had. All 4 of us got a lunch special and were very impressed. We had a margherita, a drop the piggy, a chicken alfredo, and one with proscuitto on it, can't remember the name of it. We all loved our selections. The salads were crisp, cold, and flavorful. The parmesan bites were tasty too. Emily took great care of us while we were there. Good girl. You can't go wrong here. read more

We have been here several times and have always really loved the food. This time wasn't so great. Two of the three pizzas that came out first were cold when they finally hit the table, and the third came out 20 minutes later. It was hot. The server did not check on us- we had to go ask the bartender for plates/silverware and additional water on two separate occasions. We ordered the cinnamon bread sticks which have always been a favorite. Good thing the frosting was warm because the sticks weren't. It was later in the evening but still over an hour before closing... very disappointing. read more

If you want pizza in this town, this is better than your other average junk around here. This place pretty much just serves pizza and salads. Most of their pizzas are very simple cheese pizzas was some sort of changes to the sauces, cheeses and then some small toppings to make each one unique. Passing though from Arkansas to Topeka. This was a great find. The pizza is out of this world. Wood fired and the crust is some of the only crust I've enjoyed eating with now sauce to dip it in. So excited this place is here! We tried a few beers and loved them. Compliments to the brewer. The pizza crust is amazing. Really super happy to have real pizza in town!!! The ceaser was served with a homemade dressing which was good... a real aoli base... but no lemon. Some of the lettuce was a bit old. Look... We sent it back. But! With that said, we will be back. We were headed back home to Kansas City and decided to stop here with our 2 month old baby. Great atmosphere, delicious pizza and the flight was well worth it for both of us! We got the Crazy Cow pizza and I've never experienced anything like it with the arugula garnish but my husband and I ate up the whole thing! The Parmesan Popper appetizer was amazing as well! Also, I wish I could give the manager/owner an additional star for offering up her private office for me to change my baby's diaper. Even though I know what I'm getting into and would never expect a changing table to be in a brewery bathroom (plus I can always manage to change my kid anywhere really), but still- it was SO thoughtful and considerate. We'll definitely stop again next time we're passing through. Well worth it! read more

Don't even bother trying to go to Drop The H, especially if you live out of town. Today is the 3rd time I've driven from Joplin to eat there and they've been closed. If you do decide to eat there CALL FIRST because their hours are Willy-Nilly. On the bright side I'm getting to try some other great Pittsburg restaurants!! read more

First time I went with a friend, and just wanted to try out a flight of their beers to sample several of their new brews. I'm so glad I did, because as a beer lover of craft brews, I can say we enjoyed several of the different drafts and types of beers they have available. the only thing I was disappointed with was they were sold out of 3 brews I wanted to try. But - when they are sold out, there's nothing you can do besides pick another option! My friend and I tried 5 or 6 different kinds of beers and they were all good. My 2 favorites were the Amber Ale and one of the blonde brews (can't remember the name of it). The Oktoberfest one was a good choice, too. We also ordered a pizza, which was soooooo amazing! It took our visit from fun and yummy to over the top good! The service was very good, also. they were busy the night we went (on a Thursday!) - and the server took good care of us. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun night out, music, friends hang out, even a large group - amazing drinks and a damn good pizza. We got a sausage, onion, kalamata olives and tomato sauce (Mediterranean?) pizza...There 's no place like it in town, and we will be back for sure. read more

I visited Drop the H this past weekend and was blown away with the food, beer, and the atmosphere of the brewery! They have a rotating beer menu and I enjoyed each one. Made the trip to Pittsburg with old college friends and discovered this new craft brewery. There was a cool and comfortable vibe, flights of great tasting beer and a wonderful choice of wood fire pizzas. What was especially nice was being greeted by the owners...you can really tell they're proud of their new venture! Will be back next time we're in town! read more
