The Cigar House is a great cigar lounge with a fifty year history under continuous ownership by the original proprietors sticking to tradition, very evident in its appearance and energy. The Thursday evening I was there had its regulars trickling through limited by the rains. The exterior does not begin to convey the adherence to traditional decor. I suspect a lot of furniture has been there the whole half century. Upon entry, you see all manner of cigar accessories and even a great selection of straw and leather hats. The hats seemed to be fit to compliment a Gentleman. A clean bathroom to your left precedes a desk to your left with a plexiglass barrier ostensibly there for Covid reasons. Cash and credit cards accepted. Leather couches and chairs are all around you at the front of the house, mingling with various display cases and those hats. The heart of the house has a double room humidor again on your left with commensurate capacity. The strongest suit appears to be Arturo Fuente, but they have all manner of brands and vitolas, including their House Blend in Toro and Robusto. Do not underestimate their slightly peppery, but well rounded nutty medium to slightly full profile. Seriously, for about ten bucks, you'll be glad you chose them and they are multiple or five pack worthy. Their house blend transitions well and the second half adds a touch of cedar to round out the whole affair. Not terribly complex, but easy to draw with the right resistance and easier to enjoy. Prices seem fair. Step further into the heart of The Cigar House and take note of the couch and upright seating with hightopper tables under an opaque skylight transversing the ceiling. Even more impressive was the number of air filters and air conditioning units above keeping you, your clothes and your girlfriend's hair free of smoke. Do not underestimate the value of that last sentence. The back of the house has a more dimly lit leather lounge seating area with a bar serving beer and a very wide range of spirits to suit most any connoisseur. The bottles are not limited to the bar. They are all around in display cases that line the hallway that runs past the humidor rooms and the aforementioned couches and hightop seating. They have a lot of liquor in there and some bottles one may not always encounter. Rum was the order of the evening and they have some excellent solers rums and another coffee infused rum that was unique and delicious. It's a bit rare, so there are apparently not many of these bottled. That's just the beginning and feel free to ask for your choice of scotch, bourbon, or whatever you have on your palate's mind. It will be served up neat or on the rocks. This is not a cocktail affair. The Cigar House is a great place to unwind and feel the tradition of sharing a space where many folks have, regular folks and those whose pictures, paintings, and posters adorn the walls. A great place to chill after walking around the two forts nearby, a perfect place to cap off a day in Old San Juan. Come on a Friday or Saturday with no rain and the energy may elevate a bit more. Four stars and you may say more.
It was a wonderful experience to visit a lounge outside of the US. The humidor was awesome. The staff was cool and helpful. The selection of cigars was plentiful but they did not have most of my go to sticks. But it did give me a chance to look at other types of cigars and try those.
I have been here many times over the years, and I enjoy it each and every time . The store is huge with the large humidor with an even larger selection of cigars. The service is great, and you can enjoy your cigars while having a drink . I always feel like I'm paying a fair price.I even a new beautiful pipe
Old faithful cigar lounge that we always hit when in San Juan. Probably our first stop every time we land in Puerto Rico so we can have our cigars for the trip. The service is always top notch and the selection of cigars is superb with tons of varieties of different cigar brands and sizes. There are tons of other merchandise you can buy also to take back as souvenirs or use while your on your trip such as lighters, cutters or even shirts. The value is perfect in my opinion with many cigars at the $10 and of course higher if you feel like splurging.

This spot was referred to us by a family member and we're glad we checked it out. The place is laid back and open. It has an area to shop, the biggest walk in humidor Ive seen with a big selection & more than one lounge area with very comfortable furniture. They provide magazines for reading materials along with a bar to serve drinks. All staff were kind, friendly & very helpful. They knew their products and had great suggestions and recommendations. I've never had a cigar and didn't even know how to smoke it but tried one out because, why not! lol They recommended a petite cigar with a mocha taste and it was good for a first timer like myself. My hubby had a local brand from Puerto Rico and he enjoyed it along with the ambience of the place. They have all types and brands of cigars along with accessories. We bought a case of a local brand and love the case it came in. I highly recommend this spot. The location is in a busy touristic area, so plan to look for parking. Your best bet is a parking garage in the area.

Beautiful location in old San Jaun. Rita treats her clients well, and has a phenomenal selection in the humidor. There is a relaxed vibe in the smoking area, and the bar has a decent selection. They also have beautiful Meershaum pipes for sale. Highly recommended!
I visited while in Old San Juan for the first time. I appreciated not being pressured while in the store. I asked a lot of questions and the person helping me was very helpful. The walk-in humidor... YESSSS :) so many... over 500 brands. I was excited to have a strong signal to FaceTime a friend to show them where I was so they could also see what was available and make a purchase as well. Next time I am in Puerto Rico I will be sure to return and enjoy the experience as whole- bar and lounge.
Spent the afternoon here. They have an amazing cigar selection and a full bar. Service is great. We sat for a couple of hours and we were relaxed smoking our cigars. Definitely if your a cigar smoker and are in Old San Juan you must stop by.

Closing early again tonight. Posted closing is at 10pm. I walked in at 7:50pm and was told they would be closing in ten minutes. It was fairly full, too. I'm finished with this place. Not worth the bother anymore. So sad. I now recommend Casa de Montecristo, a few blocks away, as the best place for a cigar in San Juan. read more

This was the perfect spot to have a stogy and a drink to end our old san juan day trip. The hubs knows his cigars and heard the great ratings of this place and he was in heaven. The place had everything, even a lacked room for customers to look at all their different cigars from all over the world. I picked a small one that was medium and tasted like chocolate and he had a richer flavorful one. Our host was great, he knew his cigars as well so great conversations were had. We went to their back room where they had a seating area and a full a bar. We stayed till we finished our cigars and had some beers.. like I said perfect way to end your day! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I'm overdue for a review of this wonderful low key cigar establishment. During our stay in Old San Juan in August, I found this cigar bar which is a "My Father Cigars Lounge" . I've been to many nice cigar lounges in FL and this one is by far one of the largest and most eclectic. They are stocked everything you can think of from floor to ceiling. Being that you can buy any cigars anywhere, I went with the local Puerto Rico cigars that can only be bought there. The Puerto Rico 965 and Hoja Boricua are a great afternoon smoke. I picked up a few sampler boxes to bring back home to South Florida. When back home I had given a pack to a friend and he loved it so much and tried to find them online and no luck. So now I'm on the phone with The Cigar House now trying to order some direct for Christmas gifts . Thus my review. read more
Cigars are my form of meditating and after what has already been a long year Welp you get it. We took an amazing stroll and wound up here. A beautiful shop filled with pictures & memories. A beautiful humidor and variety of cigars. Lots of one of a kind tries and made for this location only. Everyone was friendly and super helpful. The sitting arrangements are great everything from a couch to a recliner. They have an assortment of beverages including coffee. All in all it was exactly what I needed and the perfect amount of calm was achieved. Covid note: temp is taken at entrance. Spray sanitizer is available at entrance. Seating is socially distant. Employees are wearing masks. read more
Boyfriend loves this place and visits every time in San Juan. They have plenty of seating, a nice bar, and the walk-in humidor with all the good stuff. They have some rare finds and good accessories for the cigar lover. read more

I was in Puerto Rico for a week. My boyfriend wanted to buy cigars for his birthday. So we stumbled on this place. Upon entering the shop, we were greeted and welcomed by friendly staff. They have such a wide variety of cigars from Latin America to sub-Saharan Africa --I was very impressed with their selections. We bought a couple of cigars, and smoked a couple in the shop. The place is kept very clean and fresh. Would definitely recommend this shop for the best cigars in San Juan, Puerto Rico. read more
The selection at this place was amazing and the amount of choices is overwhelming. However the employee who helped me was not very knowledgeable. So you better know what you like before you go in. I've smoked cigars for several years, but I'm still learning my taste. She steered me to two different cigars that were not good at all. That was frustrating, considering that I dropped so much money there. If you're looking for a good local cigar there is a lady who sits on the corner, at the main square who hand rolls them. This place is amazing. I don't even know where to begin. The people are very friendly and patient while you browse their large humidor. One you make a selection you can sit in the big seating area with giant leather sofas, chairs, and tables. The roof is glass windows which seems very relaxing during a rain storm, combined with the soft piano music playing in the background and good conversations. I have been in San Juan for 2 days now and have gone both days. Will more than likely go back today and tomorrow. A MUST FOR ANY CIGAR LOVER. read more

We happened to find this beautiful cigar house while visiting Puerto Rico. This looks small from the outside but once you enter it is huge!!! They have everything that a cigar lover needs and want from shirts,hats,butane, an insane cigar rooms. This humidor rooms was beautiful and the selection of just about every top cigar on hand. There is also plenty of room sit and have a drink from the bar while enjoying your new cigars. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will answer questions if needed. The walls are adorned with celebrities that have visited and it just feels warm and inviting. read more
