I've been a loyal customer of the Cleanery for three years. I have been very happy with your service, and since I am handicapped I find it very helpful to simply be able to drive through. The price increases have been difficult for me, but I've kept coming. But last week I brought shirts and they were $6.50 each to launder them. Today I brought more and the price had gone up to $10.50! I know we have inflation, and it is difficult for all of us. (I am 85 years old and live on Social Security.) I don't recognize the personnel now and can't determine if the business has changed hands. A few years ago I brought in a shirt for a button replacement and the counter clerk did it while I waited--no charge! Today I picked up a shirt which I had left for pressing and button replacement. It was pressed expertly--but no button replacement. It's not worth my time to return and insist on completion, but I do wonder how the staff would react. read more

I drop off all my suits to get dry cleaned. Got them back with a really terrible foul odor, smelled dirty water, wet rag, just disgusting. Embarrassed to say I didn't notice before I left for work and when I put my jacket on at work I was taken back by the smell. Felt nauseous myself and prayed no one else could tell. Called to get a refund, the manager insisted I bring the garments back and let them have another go at it. I refuse to take my expensive suits to this business for a second time. I think I refund would have been fair to say the least. Needless to say, if you want your cloths to smell good after you pay a good amount of money to make that happen, do not bring them here. read more

Flew in from out of town and needed a couple of shirts and a sports coat pressed urgently. They were able to get it done in less than 30 minutes and exceeded my expectations. When I picked it up, I asked how much and was told "it's nothing, we like to spoil people here". The family I have here in Salem will be taking their dry cleaning needs here for sure. read more

After getting home, I noticed that the prices were extremely high. $3.50/shirt and $15.25 to clean one light jacket. More than I've ever paid for dry cleaning. 2. Pick-up attempt #1 - 3/16; 6:05PM: Clothes not ready, come back tomorrow morning. 3. Pick-up attempt #2: 3/17; 12:00PM: Clothes not ready, come back in 30 minutes 4. Pick-up attempt #3: 3/17; 12:35PM Clothes not ready, come back in 20 minutes 5. Pick-up attempt: #4 3/17; 1:10PM Clothes not ready, wait 10 minutes. About the high prices: Turns out this is because I was charged "next-day service" without having requested next day service. When I asked for a price list, I was told they didn't have one. I explained that I didn't want to pay next-day prices since (1) I didn't get my clothes the next day, and furthermore, (2) I didn't request next-day service in the first place. The manager was not available to deal with situation so I was given her business card and told to come back on Monday. Left voicemail. Now awaiting response. This business utilizes deceptive practices to boost their bottom line. They should never assume to charge customers for premium services when the customer did not request that type of service. Also, as evidenced by my experience, they are quite poor at giving reliable ETAs. read more

I only know about this place because my old job uses them. Although their delivery guys is surly and seems put out about doing his job, they do OK and their prices are decent. I recently had them repair the inside of a wool coat and dry clean it. It cost around $40 and was ready in a day. read more

I live and work at the opposite end of town but I make the trip every time I need any dry cleaning or alterations because they are too notch. Fast, friendly, professional and they're open 7 days a week from 6am to 8pm, so I don't have to leave work early or come on my lunch break. Truly a great experience each and every time. Had two very expensive shirts ruined. Both were dropped off at the same time and returned to me with rust like stains all over them. Both shirts had identical stains which, of course they claim to not have caused. They cleaned them again(or so they say) and the stains remain identical. They claim you'll "get spoiled" but all they will do us soil your clothes and then not take responsibility. For someone who gives them 600-800 dollars a year in business for the last three years you would think their customer service would be a little bit better. The lady was rude, insensitive to my ruined shirts and almost put off that she was even challenged or made to the wash them a second time. I will never return here again. This place sucks! Like Niaz C. I didn't know I was paying for the premium next day service at $15! Told to collect after 6pm next day. So traveled in from out of town to find it wasn't ready. Following day went to collect my cream Aquascutum suit to be told there were stains on a sleeve which didn't come out. These weren't there when I dropped it off btw. Suit is ruined. I cannot overstate how much I would NEVER use these people again. Your choice of course! read more

Yelp reviews are funny, often weighed down by people who had a bad experience. I'm thinking this place deserves better. I brought in wool pants to be pressed and they did them on the spot while I waited. And it was free! What?! There's a sign on the window that they will clean and press clothes for any unemployed person at no charge. Pretty cool. Given that the place is packed with clothes being cleaned, I'd say this business is well supported and appreciated. read more

Absolutely terrible service. I was told the night before my big out-of-state interview that they "lost" my new Calvin Klein blazer (worn once). Instead of preparing for my interview as I anticipated doing that evening, I had to go to the same store I originally purchased the blazer and buy a literally identical blazer to match the rest of my suit. I came back the next week and they "found" the blazer. I brought them a receipt for the new blazer I had to buy due to their negligence, and I requested a refund. They refused to refund me, and literally shrugged when they provided me with the "lost" jacket which was now useless to me. I spoke with the manager on the phone, and she was very rude and repeatedly instructed me to return the jacket I bought, though this was impossible to do. NEVER go to the place, the staff are rude and unapologetic, and the service is deplorable. read more

Location is inside the South Salem Fred Meyer's parking lot, along Commercial St....so easy to get in and out. read more

Horrible, I will never go there again !! My wife asked me to drop off her dress because she was going to wear it to a wedding. The dress was not dirty, no spots, it had been the closet for years and had some dust on the shoulders. When I dropped it off they wrote me a ticket for $37.50 which I thought was way high. When I went in to pick it up I looked around to find posted cleaning costs, found none. The person at the counter had no idea what they charge to clean a dress, so she called someone in the back to come up. Two people came up and I asked "what do you charge to clean a dress" both people answered, one of them said $7.50 the other said $17.50. At that time I show them my claim ticket and asked "Why did you want to charge me $37.50?" Both seemed embarrassed but still charged me $21.75. Remember I said there were no spots on the dress, only some dust. . . well when I got the dress home my wife inspected the dress and found two rusty looking spots on the back of the dress. The service here has been absolutely incompetent and unacceptable. I dropped off my wedding dress to have it dry cleaned and was informed to come back in just over a week to pick it up. I went to get it on the specified pick up day and was told it wasn't ready yet, but was "first in line" to be pressed and to come back the next day. I did so, watched the staff fluster around the store to try to find my dress, and was again informed it was not ready. Only after pressing the staff was I informed it was "in the back" and "waiting to be pressed". At this point, I asked if anything had been done to the dress and was told "I don't know" and to come back "maybe tomorrow?". So I asked for a full refund and to be given my dress back, to which the staff said to call their manager. The sheer amount of incompetence is astounding and I will not be using their service again. read more

I had a bad experience today. I've been a loyal customer for years. A brand new blouse came back damaged. It took a week to reach the manager to talk about it. She was defensive from the start, and blamed the damage on the manufacturer. All she offered me was a credit on future dry cleaning, and she was going to keep the blouse! I had my white shirt for my wedding cleaned here. Picked it up the day before the wedding and they turned it pink! The Cleanery was unable to fix their mistake and I had to buy a new shirt. No apology or compensation for the shirt that they destroyed. Would not recommend. read more

I have been a customer for seven years. Two weeks ago brought in a pair of capris for a price only to get a new zipper. I was told by Kim it could be $25.00 or more and she would have someone call me. Next thing I knew I got a bill in the mail for $23.50. I called the cleaners spoke to Jean, Jean said she would have to check with Kim about our conversation. To make a long story short it took four phones on my part to get this resolved, Kim did the right thing and took the unapproved charge off my bill. I had to go in and pick up my repairs since they forgot to deliver my capris with my other dry cleaning. I paid for my new charges got my capris and will Never go back there again ! read more
